I'm not a mechanic, so I believed them. Had it towed to CAR after it was recommended by a friend who manages a fleet. Needless to say I found the new place for my car.

Richard & Daniel prevented me from spending over $1000 on a repair and 2 services I didn't need. Daniel cleaned the corrosion on my battery for 60% less than the dealership wanted. This pick-a-part place allows you to look up on the hi-tech online website to see what their up-to-the-minute inventory looks like, in order to save you a trip out here. Then, you can come out and borrow their wheelbarrow or cart and pull off whatever part fancies you. I sold my old car that was barely running to these guys. They gave me an easy out for selling the car- no test drives, no lengthy questions, no asking for all the parts receipts for every gadget I put in there. I called, and they set up a time to send over a wrecker. The driver was punctual, professional, and professional. Within a few minutes, I had a check in hand and my car was being towed away! Bye bye, meatball! It was a little sad seeing my car get carted off, but I smile when I think about how my tires and rear differential are going to get many more miles, thanks to Wrench a Part.

There are so many reasons not to take your vehicle to this shop. They perform repairs without…read moreauthorization or approval and never call to provide updates. If they find additional issues beyond what you brought the vehicle in for, they proceed without asking for your consent or explaining the costs. The original problem is never actually fixed, yet they claim to have repaired something completely unrelated -- something that was never an issue to begin with. You'll likely have to bring your car back multiple times for the same problem, and it still won't be resolved. They screen calls using caller ID and avoid answering when you're trying to get updates or clarification. My vehicle was returned with new damage that did not exist before service, and they refused to take responsibility. To make matters worse, they charged for repairs related to error codes that never existed and quoted problems that were not real prior to bringing the car in. In short, they take your money without fixing the issue and often create new ones in the process. I would mention names, but they know who they are. I now have to file insurance claims for damages caused by the shop -- damages completely unrelated to my original repair request -- in addition to already having made police reports and other formal claims. Alex plays games on the phone, and no one at the shop provides real updates about your vehicle. They claim "Edgar will call you back," but he never does. It's also worth noting that they appear to use a service that blocks phone calls from being recorded, in addition to using caller ID to avoid accountability. Always ask for an itemized receipt of all repairs and damages they claim to have found or fixed. Obtain written authorization and a signed estimate before allowing them to perform any repairs. Do not let them start work without your explicit consent in writing.
