The place was busy during the dinner hour, but we were able to be seated at one of the tables on the beach. My boyfriend ordered the Grouper, which he selected out on the stand, to be grilled. I ordered the Squid Adobo from the dinner menu. Food came as it was prepared, so my dish came out first since most people chose items to be grilled. The Squid Adobo was not something I'd order again. Sauce was good, but the squid was overcooked; so sadly, was not tender but had that rubber-y texture that squid gets when it's been cooked for too long. The sauce had great flavor from the soy sauce and garlic, so it was a shame that the protein in the dish was not enjoyable. Sitting out on the beach was fun and an experience to be had while in El Nido, but prepare for many street vendors to walk up to you, selling you goods. If you show any interest at all, they get aggressive and negotiate you for a price. All in all though, Sea Jane provided a nice beachfront experience, so get the beer and skip the seafood.

It was a bit far from our hotel but they were kind enough to bring us there via the hotel car for free. It is located on the main road and a lot of people know about it so going there won't be difficult. Interiors showcase local decor and old pictures. It was airy and they had screens around to prevent mosquitoes and flies from coming in. The staff were friendly and prompt too. Since I missed Filipino food so much, we ordered my favorite: Sizzling Pork Sisig which didn't disappoint! Flavours and textures were spot on. We also ordered their grilled chicken -- it was really tasty and juicy, grilled really well and it was well seasoned. Enjoyed the inasal style veggies too, a perfect side to the meats that we had. Loved the different condiments they have on the side of each table -- different dipping sauces and thai pepper. We ordered two desserts: halo-halo and turon with dulce de leche. The halohalo was lovely and apt for the humid weather but the turon was a bit of a let down, it was too soggy and too oily, too bad coz it would've been great. Tambok's is definitely a place to dine in when in El Nido town, food is great and prices are affordable.

This restaurant was rated as one of the better places in town. The food was just ok: nothing to rave about. We had pad Thai and the vegetarian version does not come with tofu but a lot of "cabbage" in it. The Pad Thai was a bit oily and needed some spice. We also got some spring rolls: the vegetarian ones were just ok too. The service was good. Jay did a fabulous job! All staff at the restaurant aimed to please. The restaurant is not super big. The restaurant entrance is up some steep floors to a small room. When we visited the doors were open and the AC was not on. The restaurant was a bit hot. There is a small balcony out the back that offers views of the ocean. Great place to sit if you want to watch the ocean.

We started with a Mango Shake and ordered the All-Meat Boodle Fight for two and Pancit Canton. It took a bit for us to get our food and all in all, we thought the boodle fight was A-OK. The All-Meat Boodle Fight included chicken, pork belly, eggplant salad with rice. Though it seemed like it would be a lot since it was a boodle fight, we thought the portion was small. The grilled chicken was good, but the portion was not enough for two people, and the pork belly had way too many fatty pieces, so didn't eat much of the pork one. It was shame, too, since the pork had great flavor. Eggplant salad was very good and liked that it was included. And it was actually a relief that we ordered the Pancit Canton on the side to fill up on, which was a good dish with lots of calamansi flavor! Service was good and there is a full bar here with a sink in the dining area to wash your hands before and after you're done with your meal. But we weren't too impressed with our boodle fight, which is what the restaurant is known for. Glad to have had a boodle fight while in the Philippines, but it was far from the best.

They are located right on the beach in Central El Nido on Rizal Street. Unlike other "Filipino" restaurants around town, you will actually see local Filipino families dining in. That's how you know it's legit! We visited twice while in El Nido. The 1st time around, we pointed at the fresh seafood outside to have it grilled up and served to us upstairs some time later. I had a Unicorn Fish, a sweet, slightly briny white fish native to El Nido. My friend had a fresh Yellowtail and we also opted for the biggest should-be lobster prawn they had. So delicious. The 2nd visit, we watched the sunset from a window side table as a close to our island hopping tours. On said visit, we ordered Sizzling Pork Sisig, Beef Kaldereta, and Crispy Pata. Each dish was absolutely ginormous and automatically comes with rice. The ultimate best value on the island! Yes, dishes such as Crispy Pata and Sisig are on the fluffier/ fattier side but that's what makes it GOOD. Beef Kaldereta was saucier than I am accustomed but I engorged myself in its richness. Keep in mind, dishes are 250-350 PHP but are served as family style portions. Service was hit or miss at least when it came to getting the bill, but you really gotta raise your hand and yell at them -- it is the way, the Filipino way! They are also more likely to cater to the locals first which may contribute to a wait, but with such a beautiful view in paradise and the bustling of the restaurant teeming with people watching opportunities including some adings coming around selling home-made pastillas de leche, there is just so much to distract while you wait the some times 20-30 minutes for your food.

They have a lot of potential here but the whole experience just fell short and we were mostly disappointed in the food. It's definitely a popular place but I'm not too sure if it's with locals or just tourists. We asked for a table around 7PM but there wasn't anything until 9PM. So if you really want to give them a try, make a reservation on their website. The inside is very nice and there's multiple AC units so it's a great break from the mugginess outside. Pineapple Express: On paper, this sounded pretty good. But in reality, we were half joking and half worried, that if we were to get food poisoning from anything, it would be this. The texture and taste of the fish was like something that's been sitting out for too long. Grilled Cabbage with Miso: I didn't think grilling vegetables could be messed up but this was hard to eat. It was like the cabbage wasn't thoroughly cooked and the miso flavor was very surface-level. So each bite, you'd just taste some bland cabbage with barely any miso. We were at least hoping for that chargrilled taste but there was none of that. Crab Fat Ravioli: Now this was pretty good and I was cleaning the plate. But I personally like all those crab guts and the bitterness that comes with it. The ravioli itself is just crab meat but with the sauce, you're truly tasting what an entire crab would taste like. Pulpo Adobo: For the price, it's kind of small since you only get one tentacle but it's very tender. This is one of their Filipino-inspired seafood dish and the adobo sauce is actually with squid ink! This was well done and I was also cleaning the plate at the end. We decided to eat family-style and with everything split, our experience with the good wasn't enough to save the bad. We also ordered some of their alcoholic drinks with pandan but it tasted really weird. Moreover, the prices are unusually high for El Nido. I guess they're trying for the upscale vibe but I think they need to work on bringing the food up to those standards before charging at those prices. There's plenty of cheaper and more satisfying options in the area.

For an island like Palawan it would be much more difficult to get the ingredients sourced than for example any restaurant in the Manila Metro area but viewing the local (tourists) public quite understandable. Which ones stood out? For me the crab bisque, emperor fish and of course that beautiful chocolate dessert. And the margaritas! Perfect. Bummer on the ravioli being very already dente, 20, maybe 30 seconds more cooking time would have created a great result, although the filling was nice. What else, wellington was OK but we would have been happy with a more local beef rendition. The restaurant itself is really cosy and has a welcoming atmosphere and the staff is fantastic. But I could say that about 8 out of 10 places in the Philippines. Recommended? I'd love to come back for something that has Palawan written on it a bit more but as said the restaurant and also the town needs to cater to the public to survive. All in all very memorable for staff, margaritas and dessert and a great way to start 2025.
