She will get you an appointment when it's convenient for you, and as quickly as she can make it happen. And, she will let you know if something changes. Beyond that, the "business end" of Karlsen Plumbing's plumbers are polite, experienced, and conscientious. We have an old house (well over 110 years) and we remodeled the lone bathroom when we bought the house in the late 1990s. Well, the toilet was clogged. It took three separate visits to finally get it fixed, but we had the same plumber for each visit. That struck me as wise, because he knew what he had done the previous times. Yes, they keep notes and those notes are attached to your profile in the office, but notes are one thing, and actually being there is another.
Please note that it was not their fault that they had to make three separate visits. The toilet was working each time the plumber left, but it did not take long for it to become clogged again. He explained to me why this could happen, and the second and third times, he dug deeper, so to speak, into his experience.
On one visit, when he left, he said, "I'm supposed to charge you now, and collect, but I didn't finish the job, and I'll be back in the morning, so I'll give you the invoice when I'm done then." That was a common sense decision on his part, and also a gracious act. On two other occasions, he said, "I'm not going to bill you for using XYZ piece of equipment" because it either didn't give him any new information (the first time) or it showed him exactly what he suspected (the second time). Again, gestures that were much appreciated.
As for cost, well, plumbers are highly trained professionals. Like everything, you get what you pay for.
As other reviewers have said, this is a local institution, and they have a great reputation. When I tell people I had to call a plumber for something, they ask who I called. When I say, "Karlsen," they usually nod in approval and say, "They're great! We use them, too."
