The food options are unmatched. No matter what you're craving, comfort food, international flavors, baked goods, or fresh produce, there's always something that hits the spot. Everything is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with care, and it's easy to try something new each time while still going back to old favorites. The service across the vendors is always solid. Even when the market is busy, staff members are efficient, friendly, and clearly know what they're doing. You can tell many of them take pride in their craft, whether they're cooking, baking, or serving customers. The ambiance is what really sets Reading Terminal Market apart. It's lively, energetic, and full of character. The mix of locals, tourists, and longtime vendors gives the space a special kind of authenticity that you just don't get anywhere else. Yes, it can be crowded but that's part of the charm and a sign of how beloved the market is. Reading Terminal Market has been operating since 1893, making it one of the oldest continuously operating public markets in the U.S. and you can truly feel that history in every corner. Reading Terminal Market continues to deliver a great experience every time: amazing food, dependable service, and an atmosphere that feels uniquely Philadelphia. A must-visit and a must-return spot.

Date of visit: October 18, 2025…read more Selections: Numerous to the point of being overwhelmed Experience: We visited this place right before we left for the airport and I regret leaving this for last because we bought so many treats that we had to reconfigured into our suitcases. This places literally had rows and rows of eateries and places to get treats, snacks, and goodies. It was pretty crowded when we went and I'm not sure if it was because it's been hyped up as a place to visit or because of the No Kings Parade that had just ended around the time that we got there. We went down each and every aisle and I had to resist the temptation to have a second lunch because of all the variety of foods offered, including Filipino food that my husband actually ended up getting food from. We mostly leaned into getting sweets from various booths to enjoy on the way to the airport/at the airport as well as ones to take home to enjoy. I wish I could've brought cheese home, but for sure it wouldn't have lasted or held well. There was a discount with parking at the Hilton if we made a purchase, but couldn't figure that out, so ended up paying full price when exiting the parking structure. Would definitely come back again to actually eat there!

One of the hallmarks of the event is that we break the attendees up in smaller groups for meetings around town. I am so glad I discovered Tomato Catering. First, the food is fresh and delicious. It has that made from scratch with love and care feel. Over the years I have ordered the Nonna's Chicken, the Fajita Bar, Chicken Marsala, the Mediterranean bar, and a bunch of their salads. Our attendees love it. As the event coordinator, the next most important thing aside from taste and quality is meeting dietary needs of our guests. The Tomato Catering team is excellent here. All of their signage is clear and their dressings are vegan and again good. Super helpful. When you speak to their team whether it's Camille at their HQ or Jan at the West Chester location who made the food, they are extremely professional, on it, and and will make sure things are clarified so you never feel worried. We were able to coordinate delivery to each of our locations and their team setup the meals beautifully. Whether you are planning a personal event or a corporate meal like I was, I would absolutely recommend Tomato Catering without any reservations. They will be my first call again next year when we host our event back in West Chester.

When you walk in there is nobody there to greet you but you can hear a hello from the counter across the restaurant. There are instructions to grab a menu, make your way to the counter to place order, and then grab a seat. I ordered coffee and Urban Yolk (2 fried eggs, bacon, arugula, cheddar & chipotle on brioche roll. Served with home-fries). The sandwich was quite tasty but I prefer my home-fries with onions and peppers.

The service is consistently excellent with friendly cashiers and servers. This restaurant has a great ambience with a good music selection and a lunch hall feel. It is good for brunch with friends or a quick lunch date with your significant other. It's normally packed on the weekends, so we love to drop in midweek for lunch. Today we got the Carnitas Benedict. The potatoes were fresh with a light seasoning. The Carnitas is always flavorful with a robust smoky flavor. We also got the Tres leche French toast but ate it before I could take a photo hahahaha. I would highly recommend both of these dishes. We look forward to coming back on many moons.
