At a time when you are grieving you need all the support. But not when a funeral home over charges your family for items that you did not even get. We learned that this funeral home who has been used by our family for decades was recently bought out by another company. "Grieving families beware." read more

I wanted to use them a few years ago for another relative, but was unable to contact. My previous experiences were of the 4 star and higher range, hence this was my families preferred undertaker for many good reasons. Perhaps the first being its proximity to Holy Cross church, about a block away. The second reason being this was a true family business, the Winowiczs knew my family members from the area and the church. Real compassion and caring were evident, and if I recall, final payments were always delayed for as long as our family needed. When I paid for my dads services, it was almost an insult to Stanley W that I paid in advance. Times change, and Stanley is still around but does not really involve himself in the business ( he's probably mid to late 80's himself) So although it was a familiar setting that has always been professional and comfortable, the staff were strangers to my family. I'm not sure why, but there was no church service. I know my uncle would have wanted there to be one. Also the priest who did the service was cold and formal with no mention of my incredible and very devout Catholic uncle. I don't think he even mentioned his name. I'm not sure what really constitutes a 4 star experience for a business such as this, but I know I did not have one. Rest in peace uncle Stanley......

On our previous visits we spoke with multiple staff members who indicated that because of the time that had passed they would have to research the issue and get back to us. It appears that due to staff turn over we were not provided with the requested information. In our attempts to settle the estate of the person who would be the owner of any burial plots if there were any, we again contacted the cemetery and this time we were spoke with Andrea Harvey who was very receptive to our need to resolve this matter. After checking the files she indicated that there were no other records indicating that he owned other burial sites at the cemetery, but she would continue to research the matter. A few days passed and we received a call that she had located additional information and there was in fact additional burial sites. I don't know how often this issue occurs and it is probably easier to just say, "that's what the records say", but Andrea went the extra mile and determined that our family members were in fact correct. She should be commended for her efforts to effectively resolve our long standing questions. David L.

My close friend recommended K&K to us and after an initial meeting we decided they would fit our needs. I'm not going to re state the history of this nearly 100 year old funeral parlor, but the reader can be assured that it's interwoven with much of Mercer county's own history through all of those decades. Their own website recounts much of it for those interested. My beloved aunt died in early December of last year and had untraditional requests of what she wanted her services to be. In short, she didn't want any. We discussed amongst ourselves whether to supersede these wishes and we all were in agreement not to. This was not a typical viewing with funeral to follow. But to our relief, the funeral parlor allowed 5 of us( which was all she really wanted) to see her off so to speak. This was not easy for us. Many people who would have wanted to be there were not, as with others who felt they needed to be there. The staff at the parlor made it seem normal( whatever that is) and warm even without all the trappings of a typical service. They seemed to know what to do and say, and I suspect that would go for any families needs. The facility seems accommodating for varying amounts of people. Parking is behind the building and plentiful. I hope you or I will not need their services anytime soon, but I can certainly recommend them when that sad time comes.

Well water supply and trash cans evenly dispersed for light gardening needs. Even before this time of social distancing I would come here to remember my most loved people. Then and now it's a very quiet place even though the sites are current and still attract family members from time to time. Across the street is a much older cemetery that you can tell has few visitors. Walking around noticing the dates you are made aware that after a few generations, not many families remember or visit their fore-bearers. But as I said, OLoL is more contemporary, and also still taking reservations. There's even a spot for me here if I so desire. But I don't. I like the idea of sky burial the best, maybe in a few decades that will be option in this country? Short of that just cremate me and dump my ashes in the Delaware River or other moving body of water.

I have been bringing nice, outdoor natural looking flowers in special vases with ground stakes since May, 2024 to commemorate dates of importance to us. It's been one vase with a bouquet each time, not trinkets and a lot of items. From May, 2024 until January, 2025, no one "cleaned up" by taking away any of the vases and flowers that were changed out according to our special dates and the season. Then suddenly, my vase/flowers were gone. I was devastated that thinking someone was so lacking in respect that they would steal the flowers I'd left for my son. I bought a new special vase and replaced the flowers. A couple of months later, I went back with birthday flowers. My previous flowers were still there. Then a couple months after that, I changed the flowers again. Now yesterday, I went to change the flowers again and the flowers/vase I left the end of July were gone. I left new ones . I called the office and was informed that EVERYTHING is getting removed according to their clean up schedule and it's a NEW DIRECTIVE the Archdiocese put into effect in September, 2025. Which I was then informed they removed the flowers I left on July 29 on August 21 for clean up . When I questioned further, I was told they offer a service now that you can sign up for and they will put flowers on the grave four times a year if I don't want to have to remove my flowers before every clean up. I didn't ask the cost for that money making plan. Or I can remove my flowers until the clean up is completed, then go put them back. I don't live around the corner from the cemetery and I don't pass it in my travels. It is over an hour. The General Manager i spoke to had absolutely no empathy. For someone whose job it is to deal with the grieving, she was totally lacking. I also questioned why the area over my son's grave is still mostly bare and without grass, she had all her excuses about the summer heat and grass seed, etc. He was buried 2/2024, two summers, , two springs and one fall season have already gone by. The people who do the "clean up" didn't notice the lack of grass? The grounds keepers, if different from the clean up crew, didn't notice the grass? They sure noticed the little blue hot wheels truck my grandson left for his uncle on the base of the headstone and took it ( but left the dirty rocks keeping it in place). We will still, obviously, be involved with this cemetery, but I won't recommend it if this is how their management treats the grieving. The sales person we dealt with for my son's burial was very nice and helpful. It's sad that the management is not

Before he died, it was his wish to be with our parents and he seemed sure that there was room for him. Just in case, I contacted the cemetery because I did not want any conflict to arise when the "at-need" time came. I became frustrated as the month of March arrived. I began to receive marketing emails from the company that operates and manages the cemetery on behalf of the salesperson. That prompted me to email the sales person to inquire about whether he found an answer to my question posed in February. Sadly, on May 1, that answer came after we had the funeral. In February, the salesperson indicated that he was sure there were "room for 4 souls" in the grave with my parents and he moved to quickly try to sell me on prepaying the grave opening fee and purchase other potential services. The same salesperson called me when we scheduled the service to introduce himself as the person who would be handling my brother's services. This became an unnecessary dispute that caused a lot of stress. While the cemetery "made an exception" to allow my brother to be buried with my parents, there still is something not right here. Another concern about my interactions with their area VP has arisen. He noted that there is no room on my parents' stone to add my brother's name. While that is true, it was also claimed there was no room for my brother to be buried but there was plenty of space for my brother's urn to be buried and there looks to be plenty of room for another stone to be placed. I gave the cemetery 2 stars--originally up from the 1 star I would give because I had a very positive experience with the cemetery's frontline staff when I visited the cemetery on May 6. Taras provided me excellent directions on how to navigate the large grounds so I could visit my great-grandparents' gravesite. His directions were excellent. He provided a map where he even drew a line with the best route to follow through the cemetery. Despite the overly aggressive sales tactics, I ended up having a great experience on the front-lines with Taras.
