Am going to make mapo tofu so came by after lunch for tofu and mapo tofu sauce. They didn't have the sauce but I picked up some canned tuna in spicy sauce and original flavor. M Mart is the perfect place to stop by for snacks and beverages before heading down the strip mall to Havana Spa, or even if you're randomly in the neighborhood. My friends and I picked up delicious pastries, eg. blueberry cream cheese buns, and aloe juice to keep ourselves sustained in our relaxation hours. It's relatively small but well-stocked with munchies, pastries, and more. I want to try the hot foods next time I visit. Bummer I missed out on the Yelp events here! read more

For a long time, since its opening in 1983, before the arrival of HMart, Mmart on South Havana was the go-to place for most of Korean goodies in town. It has similar intimate feel as Pacific Mercantile in Sakura Square, the selection may not be as the bigger newcomer nearby, but its curated selection usually has everything you need and carries some brands not seen in other stores and the service is more dedicated and personable. I had an absolute blast taste testing the many tables to get further ideas on what to purchase! I was a huge fan of the Korean pear! I will say, it's the best one I've had at any of our local groceries in a while. So, for that alone I'll be back! Skip H mart and come here instead. They have a Honey Bakery on site, get the butter cream bun. Asian bakery adds more sugar to their bread so it's fluffier and sweeter. Its located in the same building as Seoul KBQQ, locally owned small grocer, they also sell sliced meats for your Kbbq. The veggie section is pretty good as well for winter hot pot. Yunnan Rice Noodles - located next door. The new owners are from Hong Kong have some interesting clay pot dishes and a variety of appetizers. If your looking for premium short-grain rice they have some Korean brands here. Ever since being introduced to M-Mart via two Yelp events I have been hooked. The only place I have been able to find tako chips, kim bop and a plethora of other Asian foods. Remember to look past the registers because they have a bakery hidden there! Supporting local has never been easier and everyone is so nice there too! I like to shop for fresh produce here, especially their glorious selection of exotic mushrooms. (Think trumpet, oyster, and enoki mushrooms.) I also like their excellent range of imported spices, sauces, and gluten free noodles, rice cakes, etc. If you love Korean food like I do, M Mart has all of the ingredients you need to make it for yourself at home! In one word: awesome. Korean food is some of my favorite (kimchi is my favorite food, period) so I was extremely jazzed to have come here for a Yelpers experience. I was not disappointed! It always blows my mind how much food can be fit in such a small space. Three cheers for efficiency! I was lucky enough to join in my first Yelp event at this location. The store was so cute and the staff was very friendly. I had not tried a lot of Korean foods before so I appreciated the time the staff took to tell me what was in each item. I was shocked the sushi had no fish in it! All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I also discovered I love banana milk and the bread. I enjoyed that it was not a big chain like h-mart and was a small business. This is my first time visiting this store. The staff were so friendly and talked to everyone. Yelp event included few sample items and I really enjoyed them so much. The banana milk was tasty. Kimbap and pancake was really good too. Kimchi with gochujang side was spicy and yummy I couldn't resist from picking up few items to try from the store. I tried this place out for a special Yelp Elite event, where I got free samples and a tote bag. I tried Banana Milk, a stir fry, a chicken/ beef/ vegetable dumpling, a slice of pear, kimbap (Korean sushi containing imitation crab), and a honey roll. It was all very good. The store itself is small, and not large like the H Mart stores in Aurora and Westminster. That means its selection isn't very large, and it's mostly just Korean food. All the seafood is frozen, and the meat counter is small. There's also far less fresh produce. H Mart has everything that M Mart has, and is slightly cheaper. However, I found the service to be professional. The store was also clean, and offered complimentary hand sanitizer. Finding food here is easier than H Mart as well. read more

I love M Mart. I have been shopping here for 16 years. They have great sales and if there is ever the slightest line, the owner will start ringing people up. They are family owned. Of course, they don't have the broad selection of HMart, but I find everything Korean that I need, and even some Japanese items. They have some inexpensive Korean skincare that I like.. I read about this and was surprised I'd never come across it before now. I put the address in my GPS and went off to find a little Korean grocery store. I 2asnt sure if it was open (it was just after 12 noon) due to the 1 qay coating on the front window. It's not as huge as H-Mart, or Pacific Ocean Marketplace, but it does have Japanese and Korean food. The sushi restaurant up front was not open when I got there, and one of the cashiers was telling a customer why, but it was in Korean so I couldn't understand. I went to the back where there was some prepared battered fish, and the gimbap (Korean style veggie sushi) and some kimchi. There were two little tables off to the side, and I sat to eat some of the fish and sushi. The woman graciously brought me water to drink. I'm always on the lookout for Japanese candies, ramen, condiments, and rice crackers to take me back to my childhood in Japan. Because it was 6 miles south of my reason for being in Denver, it was a little out of my way since I live north, but I was glad I'd found another Asian grocery to visit and add to my places to shop while in Denver! read more

If you aren't familiar with asian grocery stores here in the United States, there are a number of these "lettered" Marts. I've been to G marts, H Marts (the main chain around the world), O Marts, and now this M Mart! First off, I am happy that there are asian grocery stores here in CO. That being said, this store is a touch more expensive and less organized than the major H mart down the road. I'm talking produce and products in general. HOWEVER, this M mart does have a different variety if goods, so there's a chance that you can find some things here that you won't find at the H mart. So if you haven't been, it's worth a visit. And also, don't call asian people "Orientals". That's not related to my experience at M mart, I just wanted to share that as a PSA. read more

There's not a lot of Korean supermarkets and this place is a hidden gem! It has pretty much everything you need and isn't very busy so it's a great way to stop by and get what you need. It's organized pretty well and they usually have everything stocked up. Sometimes they have better prices on things compared to H Mart. Just have to know what you want and check the ads. Smaller for sure, sometimes checking out can take a while since they don't have someone always at the register. Parking lot can be a nightmare when it's really busy. Just came here today because I haven't been in here since my last review. This time, I wasn't "surveillanced" It's basically like M-Mart, but smaller and a couple of cents or 1 buck less. After I checked out, the cashier gave me a free snack! How cute! I also bought some gochujang, and was disappointed that it rung out $4.99 rather than the sale price that I saw it for. I would have mentioned something, but I wasn't sure if there was going to be a miscommunication. If you are a Korean here in the Denver area surely you've been to this place more than a couple times. This place is pretty small and crowded but it has pretty much anything you'll need for your Korean family. Also there are a small gift shop and restaurant as well as a bread store. In my opinion, this bread store is one of the best Korean-style bakeries in this area. They know how to make ssaeng-cream cake right. (Google if you don't know). And sometimes going to this little mart gives you a little peace of mind, its like your local neighborhood-friendly type of place. read more
