Ask me what I don't love about Dr. Jay Fibus? Seriously, GOOD LUCK finding a therapist like him and his associates--I truly mean that with all the love in my heart, but read on if you've landed on this review and you're "shopping around" for a new therapist or were referred to him by someone. No joke, the guy is a freaking genius. Cambridge graduate and has applied the most unique skills in our therapy sessions. I loved meeting in his office and never thought I would be okay with zooming into our sessions because of the pandemic, but oh my gosh--they've AWESOME because of how vulnerable I can still be from the comfort of my own home. In a nutshell, my husband left my son and me, almost losing my job, my home, and custody of my son (prior marriage). Dr. Fibus not only helped me pick up the ashes of where my life was but he sat in the trenches with me as I was sitting in the dung. Let's just say the depression of co-dependency was far too much and I didn't reach self-care and healthy until I opened up and got real with him. He then helped me walk through the dark rooms of my mind which I had vowed to never let anyone in. He held my hand metaphorically and walked me up the stairs to life's reality so I could sing again from the mountaintops. Therapy takes time and unless you are thirsty for it, don't bother. It'll be a waste of everyone's time, treasures, and skilled talent. But when you do decide that your life has gotten to a point where it's led you to this review then understand this of yourself, it's time to make the call and I hope it's to Dr. Fibus. I was so fearful of going because I didn't want anyone to see the hurts, but in doing so, I've gained all that is good back into my life and then some and they're here to stay. I will never say it's easy, never. It takes mental work and your willingness to open up. It's NOT easy. It's the weak that say therapy is a bunch of crap. To that, I say hogwash! It takes so much work to rewire a marriage, a relationship or your mind. So again, unless you're willing to be serious, don't bother. Dr. Fibus gave me permission to self-reflect on the trials and circumstances that led to the healing of the negative and ugly scars of my life. He did it such a funny and gentle way that I never imagined in a million years I would have the perspective I do about those moments. I have learned to embrace them all and allowed myself to finally become more vulnerable and a feeler in my life. I didn't realize the techniques because they came naturally to our conversations and nothing about it was awkward like I had envisioned they would be when "sitting in a therapy session." My life was super far from being screwed up--I just had to learn the fabric of my own DNA and realized in time that life, indeed, is beautiful. He's respectful of both genders and gave me security and compassion when my husband left. He never made it awkward when I would sit for a while and lament and just cry out. He was above reproach and respectful to my ex when he made that decision to stay focused on my journey without being biased. When I ask him a question he is so direct but with a light hearted charm that made me go back out into the world and reestablish my life and identity. He's taught me what healthy boundaries are and worked with me on the darkest days of my depression. He's helped my son out in a few sessions along with his associate who my son just adores and can call up at any moment knowing if he needs an outlet, they are there for him. It got really rough when his step dad had just walked out me but on him too. I have learned that being a successful single mom can be messy, difficult, and imperfect but that it can also be organized, easy, and perfect on some days. I see life as progressive where as before I was looking for perfection; felt I was letting down others; or would anger easily if the person I was co-dependent on would "let me down." The struggles were real and now they're struggles that are super manageable. He's referenced reading material that I thrive at when given quiet moments to read. He taught me that audible books on the way to work can re-wire my brain if I lend myself 20 minutes just to work on myself daily. I take compliments and see the beauty of my journey and how far I have come. I see all of the beauty and thrive from the scars to know that each one them has a story for someone to hear them at the right moment. With all the experiences I've had, I can relate to just about anyone where as before I wanted to depend on a person to make me happy and hide from the world. Don't even overthink it, pick up the phone and just make that appointment, I promise you--you will NOT be disappointed! read more

I've known Dr. Fibus and Dr. Vinni since the year 2015 since I used to volunteer as a MFT intern. They are really dedicated and committed to helping people. They are both wonderful people and highly compassionate. I owe it to them for learning effective communication and the psychology behind it. Dr. Vinni has excellent neurofeedback services. If you struggle with depression, anxiety, anger, ptsd, sleeping problems, etc., he is really good at helping easy those things drastically over the course of just a few sessions. I noticed a huge difference in my mood and sleeping problems. While you're watching a show or movie, your brain is really rewiring itself, creating and locking in new neurons. You feel so relaxed when you come out of the sessions. It makes you feel like you're in the clouds without any side effects. It truly works! read more

I recommended marriage counseling to my husband of 5 years before, but we never committed to it. It took COVID-19 and our inability to leave home for us to finally confront the issues in our marriage and agree to counseling-- a blessing in disguise. Dr. Fibus was immediately welcoming and forthcoming. He listened to us and then helped us truly listen to each other. After three sessions, I was able to think about "forever" with my partner again, when I'd previously lost that hope. With Dr Fibus I feel 100% relaxed and comfortable and am able to tell him anything and have never felt judged once. When I went to him, I was extremely depressed and my relationship was in deep trouble. Now I am happy to say that my relationship has never been better and my depression is almost 100% gone. I must also add without any help from drugs. I really feel he totally understand my problems and helps me see not just one solution, but many different solutions to my problems. I also see Vinnie and use Neuro Feedback and have done 12 sessions with it. My sleep has improved greatly, as well as an overall calmness to my days. Vinnie is also easy to talk to and explains every step of the way what the process of Neuro Feedback is, what it does for me and how I will feel and so far its been amazing. I was nervous about doing it, I did a lot of research on the web about it and all I can say is that it 100% has helped my life. I was a little skeptical when a friend recommended neurofeedback. It sounded...well, kind of whacky. I had tried just about everything to help with my insomnia, depression and anxiety and been to every specialist under the sun. I had almost given up hope, so figured I might as well try neurofeedback. I immediately was put at ease when I spoke with Dr Vinni. He genuinely cared about what I was going through. And after I learned how neurofeedback worked, I realized it wasn't whacky at all but a reputable and scientifically-proven technique to regulate brain wave patterns. I've been going to Dr Vinni for a few months now and am leaps and bounds better than I was! I was able to get off antidepressants (and I was on for 25 years!) and am now sleeping soundly. Dr Vinni knows what he's doing. But more than that, he never gave up on me. Every other doctor I saw just thew their hands up in the air because they couldn't figure what was wrong with me. My husband and I were in desperate need of help. He had major anger issues and was extremely verbally abusive. In addition he thought all therapists were just after his money. Needless to say i felt completely hopeless and alone. We had seen another therapist and Dr. fibus was our last stop before divorce. I decided it was worth a chance after I read some of his reviews on his website. Although I was skeptical, it only took 1 session for me to realize how brilliant he is at his job. He was able to get my husband's attention to make him hear things I had been trying to tell him for the past 6 years. He was able to help him listen and hear me in a way he refused to prior to therapy. And by the second session, my husband admitted to me and to Dr. Fibus how good he was. My husband does not give out compliments very easily. Within the first month I saw changes in his behavior for the better, and for the first time he was able to express his emotions in a calm manor. Dr. Fibus is an incredible advocate for relationships, kids, and love. He uses humor to diffuse difficult topics and helps you to laugh when you forgot how to. I cannot recommend him enough. No matter how serious you think your problems are there is no doubt that Dr. Fibus has the skills and compassion to help even the most stubborn people like my husband. Just wanted to let anyone know that I use kiser insurance and before session M Jay Fibus was confidently saying that my insurance will cover it. So they didn't cover it. It was my fault too I didn't confirm with kaiser but also he could just say he doesn't know instead of what he said. I highly recommend Dr. Fibus because he honestly cares about the success of your relationship and solving those problems. I've never had a therapist that wasn't just doing their job or was a clockwatcher. Dr Fibus is always honest and transparent who thoroughly cares about our relationship. I love my wife very much and the success of our marriage is the most important thing in my life. This is my second marriage and going through a divorce that led me into a deep depression with something I never wanted to experience again. but I would say that the failure of my first marriage was because of my failure to understand that I needed help and that it would be impossible for anyone to be successful in an endeavor such as marriage without a coach or teacher, guide or mentor. It now makes complete sense to me to have an expert in our corner who is trained out of Cambridge, one of the top schools in the world. Even if you've been married two or three times if you have never been in a successful marriage how can one expect to do it alone without an expert in their corner. Dr. Fibus is excellent at his work and practice. He uses many techniques and processes to really reach a goal. He puts in at a level 10 and is committed to making a difference and committed to helping make the change that is needed. He has helped me achieve results in moving forward in a breakup and I will better within the first 30 days and know I made the right decision. The best thing is that I didn't go backwards and continue my life with toxicity of the wrong match and potentially causing myself future problems. In addition instead of taking 3-4 months to feel the way I do now it has taken 30 days.
