Until you look hard, you don't tend to notice just how many newsagents there are in Edinburgh. We hardly give them a second look, but they are all businesses worthy of reviewing. This one is just round the corner from my flat, so I went in to see what's what.
Compared to some of the places I've been in the city, this is not terribly well organised. There doesn't seem to be any order to how stock is up on the shelves, and going in for the first time it was hard to get my bearings. The stock itself is a bit random as well. I was almost a little confused as to whether it was a newsagents or not, despite claiming to be from the outside.
All told, there are newsagents that are nearby that I find easier to negotiate. I expect that this place gets a lot of competition from Margiotta, which is just over the road (and incidentally a lot better in my opinion). read more
