He came out immediately, agreed that it needed to be replaced, turned on on the gas fireplace, offered to bring heaters and worked her into the schedule as quickly as he could. (We'd still be waiting 5 more days for the other company.) The total cost for a more efficient furnace considerably less than the quote from his competitor.
