Since my first review I have been back numerous times. I have tried several of their selections. I…read morecan truly say that I haven't had any issues. The service is excellent and the food is awesome !! My favorites are the fried bologna sandwich, hamburger steak, debris poboy, Philly cheese steak, mag burger and their fries are the best. They have blue plate specials with fresh veggies and meat that are mouth watering !! And it's local friendly people using local ingredients !!! Great place for lunch with friends, coworkers, family or even a date !!!

I've so far tried the Garlic Steak Tips Bowl and the Mushroom Swiss Burger which were both quite nice. I did make an attempt to attend their steak night but somehow a private event was going on when I arrived for that so I still haven't been able to make it back to sample the steak yet. The market part of this place does offer a lot of great looking stuff and they certainly have some beautiful meat on display if you want to cook your own steak which I certainly do but I don't have a grill available to me when I'm visiting Lower Alabama. Overall I found this to be a really great spot and it is certainly worthy of a visit for multiple things whether you want to dine on prepared food or purchase things to cook for yourself.

This little grocery store is a diamond in the middle of nowhere... Which is the way the locals…read morelike it... Not a lot of variety but quality products and staples... Also, the women who run the store up front work their rear ends off and are always happy to help you find something with a smile. Now, the butcher.... I have been a repeat customer for years at this meat market for "ONE" reason... They have incredible cuts of quality meats... And I have never been disappointed with the flavor of their meats... BUT, the butcher and the guys helping him in the back are incredibly rude... They are literally the "Meat Nazis" of Elberta... I don't know if it's a swagger because they know you will return regardless of their attitude, but quite frankly, I have found another butcher in Pensacola who has just as good of product BUT he also thanks me for choosing his store and recommends ways of preparing meats that are unique and delicious.... He won my business. So long Elberta Grocery. Update 2019 - I'm happy to report "most" of the Meat Nazi's have either moved on or been fired... I stand by my original review and the meats here continue to be the best around! My Pensacola Butcher moved and I had to revert back to Elberta Grocery for my premium meats.... However, be warned.,,, one Meat Nazi remains! He is short and dumpy wears glasses and usually has a dip in his mouth... kinda looks like a guy in a Farside Comic Strip or perhaps Dilbert. Anyway, he is still a mouthy little asshole and barks insults and "NEXT!" When there are only two people in line. He also has this creepy slight grin on his face and says things in a shitty way like... "You couldn't stay away?", or "So, why are you here?"... it's not even original or funny but it seems to make him very happy to make customers uncomfortable. So, some advice here (Unless you want this jackass to spit in your food)... Don't have much conversation with them other than "Hello" and act like you don't hear their insults... (This confuses people of low I.Q.)... Or do what I do! Don't go in at all and have friends go in and get the meat for you... I'm not kidding... I have about six people who go in and get my meat because of the attitudes of these "Deliverance Meat Jockeys" The Meats are fantastic! You have been warned! LOL

I respect their work ethic and how personable they are with their customers…read more Five stars to their meat department.

The fries one seriously looks like a little container of French fries, but they're chocolate/vanilla ice cream bars with a strawberry jam dipping pack. The soccer ball was almost too cute to eat--and perfect for our soccer-loving family! Definitely one of those treats you buy because they look fun, but they actually tasted good too. The kids got a huge kick out of them! Would absolutely grab these again if we spotted them!

I was on the hunt for a decent pack of sardines. We just came from Baton Rouge and we are using to having Whole Foods etc. it is a small store but they do have some good products. My daughter and husband got the fruit shaped ice cream. I did find some sardines / not the brands I was hoping for but definitely better than what's around. I was going to get a bottle of wine. However I did notice a wine I normally get is 14/15 dollars and they market it up to 26.77 there- and it's the same bottle. In my mind that's too big of a market up. I ended up going to isla wine instead which is a boutique wine store and their mark up is only 1-2$ more than the general price. This store also has caviar which I'd love to buy but now I do feel like I have to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.
