Really and truly impressed with services provided by Luis!…read more Over the weekend, my 8-year-old had used wayyyy more toilet paper than his little bum needed, and after shop vacuuming the overflow twice and being unable to unclog myself, I sent the call of distress to Yelp. Another plumbing company- while prompt- came to look at it, and was asking $150 more than what Go Direct Services stated was their flat rate. I sent the initial company away without my business, and contacted Go Direct Services. That same day, Luis was able to squeeze me in and fixed the issue within minutes and all for a flat fee of $79. Really appreciate not being price gouged when I realize that the problem is an easy fix. We may have found our new local professional!

I had scheduled this service for the 2-4 time slot to have our utility room drain serviced, and it…read moreseemed my technician would be there closer to 2 than 4 so I scheduled myself out of office at work to be home for the service. My tech called around 1:40 pm saying they were wrapping up the prior job and would be at my home in about 30-40 minutes. Still good. 3:00 rolls around and nothing. I text the number for an updated ETA and was told about 35 minutes or sooner. I had to get back to work so luckily my wife works remotely and was home for their arrival at 3:40. From her interaction she stated things could have been a little better. Their were two techs, one in training. Upon entering our home the trainee starts going into a different part of the house that had nothing to do with our service so she had to redirect him. Then at the conclusion of our service she noticed our washer drain hose was not placed back in the drain tube where it needed to go so she had to put it back. She did state the main tech was communicative, provided various options (scope or no scope) and was friendly enough. Side gripe on the invoice payment portal.....I would think plumbers get paid enough of a living wage to negate the need for a tip, but I guess with where tipping culture is in America, Go Direct feels the need to ask for additional funds as a tip upon checkout.

I had been looking for an honest contractor to inspect my sewer service line for quite some time…read more Having been employed in the business of installing underground utility infrastructure for many years; it is not difficult for me to discern whether or not a contractor is being forthright or is of questionable integrity, by knowing the right questions to ask over the phone. Having previously done an inspection of my sewer service many years ago prior to home purchase, with no issues I had recently been experiencing backups over the course of the past few years. Knowing the insidious nature of root intrusion and the consequences of neglecting them for very long, particularly when dealing with vitrified clay pipe (VCP), I set out on my search. I intentionally steered clear of the big plumbing contractors as I am aware of the overhead involved in running a business with a master plumber and several or even a few journeyman plumbers in its employ. Since I didn't want to pay for an 8000 hour trained journeyman plumber to run a camera down my sewer service for top dollar, I begin searching the net for a contractor that would meet my needs and not take me to the cleaners while doing so. I found exactly what I was looking for in Hel-Diggers / Rob Helvig, an honest knowledgeable forthright individual who didn't treat me like a pack of 10 car salesmen all trying to sell me a new truck as I walk into the dealership to buy a $20 part to fix my old truck. Being fully capable of acquiring locates, pulling permits, renting an excavator and doing a point repair on the service line myself, I needed only to know exactly where the problem was. Little did I know the problem lies with 80% of the contractors out there trying to separate you from your hard earned dollars just as fast as they can. Thinking to themselves the whole time that everyone out there is a mark that doesn't know any better or wouldn't know if they had been taken advantage of. After many disillusioning phone calls and having a few (free) estimates from people that I wouldn't trust make a cup of coffee, I ran across Hel-Digger / Rob Helvig. This guy is obviously a man who believes in doing an honest day's work for an honest day's rate. After doing the sewer line TV recorded inspection, receiving a quote from him for repairs and putting pencil to paper for doing the repair myself, after all things considered, machine rental, permitting materials, involved risk of potential or inadvertent damage to other utilities, etc. I intend on contracting him for the work. He definitely has the knowledge, ability, equipment, skill set and desire to make an honest living doing the work he does.
