The top layer of the concrete is flaking away. Now we have to pay someone else to fix this mess. Unfortunately, we learned that Bill has a reputation for watering down the concrete after we had already signed his contract. We got several quotes and ultimately chose American Waterworks based on a recommendation from a family friend. Their estimate was in line with others we received who also offered transferrable lifetime warranties. I wish I'd gone with another company. First hiccup was that they didn't bring anywhere near enough pipe to move the discharge line to the location we had discussed. A phone call to the sales rep resolved that the day the work was being done. Second hiccup we discovered was that they had cut stair supports from our basement floor, left them dangling from the stairs, and put in an access point for the system under the stairs so we couldn't rebuild the supports ourselves. Kenny came out and did rebuild the cut part of the supports and moved the access point. Third hiccup was that they had left our old discharge pipe connected through the house, even though they'd cracked it, so water was leaking immediately outside the house. Kenny also fixed this. Fourth hiccup... they're coming for the annual maintenance check next month and we've just turned on our sprinklers, only to discover that they severed our irrigation line. Based on the fact that they buried the discharge line right on top of it, there's no way they didn't know they'd cut it. We cannot fix this ourselves as we can't access the entirety of the damage with their discharge line being where it is. No one works on the weekends to report the issue so I left two voicemails on Saturday. The first when I suspected they'd damaged the line and the second after I dug to investigate. I'll update my review when they've fixed the damage they caused. We're hoping for a timely repair as the city is digging up our boulevard this week and we can't locate the final sprinkler head due to the lack of water pressure in our sprinkler line. They did one day of work and then the weather got bad and they never finished. They gave us an 18,000+ bid and we paid them 8,000 and said they would come back in the spring and finish. We expected they would contact us and we heard nothing. Through out the spring and summer months we were moving our mom and her belongings from Arizona to Rochester. We left left a message with Steve to call us and finally he called the end of July and told us he would be out in September to finish the job. He also told us that his brother that did concrete work for him had quit so we would have to find someone else to do the concrete work. It was very important that his company would come out to finish the work they had started before the end of September because we had signed a contract with the Sprinklerman to install an irrigation system and they stopped installing them by September 30th. Well September went by and October went by and finally I received a voice message the middle of November from Steve that said he was sorry for not getting back to me sooner and that he was wondering if there was anything he could do yet that year in the middle of November in 2018! Really!! Steve's non existent attitude towards us as clients was non excusable and at the least very non professional!! Was my job to little or just not important enough. I will admit the laid back, no urgency, I'll get back to you to finish your project when I get around to it maybe, approach was very frustrating to say the least! I will end in a positive, that the work they did do, they did well and I would have been very happy and pleased with them if they had only come back to finish their work!
