We came to this place only because this place popped up first and happened to be the closest to us…read more I saw they take card and is good for children. Once we walked in the place was decently packed, however it was so quiet in here!! If we happened to fart the whole place would have heard it; it was THAT quiet. Everyone was whispering, and there was only one table left open, so we sat there. We noticed two other children in the place already had the high chairs and thankfully the last table was a booth. The menu has English below each item, so no need to guess or use google translate and the wait staff is also really nice. We both ordered the duck special. Supposed to be crispy duck with a cranberry, red cabbage risotto. Sounds really yummy and different right? Welllll it wasn't crispy, it was overly sweet and the taste didn't match the texture of the risotto. However my daughter loved the "risotto". We both were really excited about CRISPY duck. Well we got soggy duck with a whole lot of fat. I would come back, only to try the other meals. I wouldn't order the same thing again. Every dish that passed by was so colorful, decorative and looked hands down delicious. Also, I know it says kid friendly. But I personally didn't feel like it was kid friendly. It was a lot of older couples and groups in for lunch or drinks and every time my daughter did something everyone looked and rolled their eyes

It seems that during the winter there is no outdoor seating (you can still access the outdoor patio though), and indoor seating is pretty tight. Nonetheless, it creates these cozy nooks for a genuine 1300s throwback Gasthaus ambiance. The waitress was helpful and quick. From the many choices of beer, we chose the Schenkerla smoke beer. With that we ordered the roasted pork shoulder and schnitzel. The meals were superb. We havent had any German/Bayerisch cuisine in a while, and the food were the perfect comeback dishes. Meats were super tender and not too oily. The kartolfelsalat and knodel garnishments were great and not too starchy. Awesome spot, and would venture to say that it beats Tucherhaus and Hofbrauhaus. Would definitely dine here again.

Solide Brauhaus-Adresse in Bamberg!

When we arrived in the afternoon, the place was already buzzing. My friend knew one of the managers, we said hello, grabbed beers, and sat at a table overlooking the city of Bamberg. Spectacular! We looked over the menu and we both chose the same thing- Schweinekrustenbraten- Pork Shoulder- a local delicacy. We drank our beers and caught up with each other, enjoying the views and the people having a good time. Our food arrived after a bit of a wait, but I was not surprised given how busy they were. Our server set our plates in front of us and we ordered more beers. My pork was perfect- crispy skin and moist and tender meat underneath. It came with a side of "Wirsing," which is Savoy Cabbage, and it was delicious! After eating, we ordered another beer and shared Apfelkrapfen, sort of an apple fritter- scrumptious! We enjoyed our beer and watched the sunset before heading back down the hill. This place is a must-visit if you are in Bamberg...

They had some vegan options, so I got a chili sin carne here (€13.40), which was very well-made --made with lentils, unusually. Our waiter was very friendly and our group always likes to have a good time and I think he fed off our vibe and he talked and joked right along with us and we had an amazing experience. The menu is large and they ask that when you order that you do so by the number that accompanies each entree. Drinks came out fast and the food followed shortly after. Everything was fresh and delicious. We did need to flag our waiter back down to get the check, but I truly believe that's the American in us looking to hurry up the dining process as the Europeans relax and enjoy their night out. The waiter brought the check as the bartender brought each of us a free shot!! (I did mention we were having a good time and we chatted up anyone in proximity) regardless, that was not our intent to get a free drink but how nice was that? Start to finish 10/10.
