This roadside restaurant serves a purpose. While it is not elegant, it does offer decent food at reasonable prices. The location in the mountains is quite lovely and the dining facility is likewise nice enough. The only drawback that I could see is that the service is average at best.
We were on our way to Lausanne and needed a quick place for lunch. This establishment was ideal for that purpose as it was at a roadside stop on A9. It was situated in a nice area with surrounding mountains. The retail shop was in the front of the facility while the restaurant was in the rear. The dining room was quite comfortable and informal and there was a shaded porch for outdoor eating. It was a beautiful day so we opted to dine outside.
It was not busy so we were able to be seated quickly. We were brought our menus right away but the server then disappeared and did not return. We waited for about ten or twelve minutes and then my colleague had to track her down. We were finally able to place our orders but this was a bit annoying since we had a train to catch after lunch.
My colleagues had the Steak Tartar and the Vegetable Curry. They both were satisfied with their meals. I had a Chicken Curry dish that was actually quite lovely. I was certainly happy enough with my meal. The prices were not bad making it a decent value.
Overall, this restaurant serves a purpose. As a roadside stop, it is a convenient place to pull off if you need a quick meal. The food is pretty good and the prices are not bad. The ambiance is informal and the location surrounded by mountains is its best feature. My only real complaint is that the service leaves a bit to be desired. But it is not a bad choice if you want a meal but need to make it a quick stop. read more
