CHICKEN CHILAQUILES!
Lewis Y.

The price, the room, the location, the food... VERY GOOD! My only complaint is 2 things... my first day there I had breakfast and our waiter took our order and never brought the drink. I asked him for our drinks and never brought them nor utensils. Where do I see him, by the bar on his phone... No Mames!! I had to flag another waiter that wasn't our waiter to let him know we needed utensils and our OJ. Then our waiter decides to pass by and ask if everything was ok.. at this point I'm thinking.. HE REALLY FORGOT WHAT I ASKED FOR! The second thing that bothered me the most was upon arriving from a night out I realized we needed clean towels. I asked the front desk if i can have some towels, he replies with, I'll send them to your room. About an hour pass an no towels. I call front desk and ask for my towels that were suppose to be sent. Lets just say the next morning passed by and I NEVER GOT MY DAMN TOWELS. But thanks to the cleaning lady for bringing me towels the following day after we came back.

Great location! I'd say that's the biggest benefit of the hotel, we walked to almost all of our lunches, dinners and evening activities. There were a few good taco places within 8 blocks walking distance, there was a bar we visited twice with a rooftop (Cocks Cantina), a really great fancier restaurant (Sur beach house), and then the beach, all within 20 minutes walk. Front desk staff was very friendly, check-in was easy (we had booked on hotels.com), rooms were clean and pretty updated. We had a nice balcony/deck, that when the sliding glass doors were open, yes as the other reviews said was loud, but it was also fun. You're in Cabo! Open your doors and dance to the street music outside your door! The free breakfast was decent, I think there were some communication issues, the first day my Chilaquiles didn't come with eggs on them, but the stuffed French toast the next day, and then the Chilaquiles with the eggs on the third day were all pretty good! If you're heading back to the US, there's a mobile COVID testing site 1 block away that was $30 and sent us back our results in 1 hour.

Breakfast: veggie & chicken breast scrabble

This hotel is in prime location. A 5 minute walk from the beach and top trendy restaurants on the beach like The Office and Mango Deck. It's a 10 minute cab drive to downtown where all the clubs and bars are located. Staff is friendly! Ask to be on the 2nd floor, your balcony will be on the pool. Only Downside is that there's only wifi at the pool & lobby but if you have a room on the second floor you can get wifi in the corner. Breakfast: the free breakfast is amazing. You can get food at the buffet or order from the kitchen. There's an Oxxo (like 7-11) located outside of the hotel. They don't sell hard alcohol but the serve beer. There's a liquor store on the walk towards the beach. Pool: it's pretty, quiet and more for families. It never closes which is an upside. Medano Hotel is affiliated with Cabo Villas Resort so you can get day pass to use their pool or beach chairs which is in a great location. The rooms are nice and clean with comfortable beds. Overall a great experience and I would stay here again!

I had an incredible stay here for my birthday week back in February 2020. The service was impeccable from check in to the poolside bartenders. Everyone I came across was friendly and helpful. My room was just as pictured and very clean. Bed was comfy. The pool side beds are sooo comfy and relaxing. Drinking by the pool at the hotel was one of the highlights of my trip, great drinks and even better service and conversation. I'll definitely book Médano again next time I'm in Cabo!

My family and I just got back from a little vacation to Cabo and we stayed at Medano hotel and I have nothing but great things to say about our stay. Every request and favor we asked for, Matt Espinosa delivered immediately. He is literally a sweetheart and I would recommend any and everyone to come and visit him at Medano. He had a margarita waiting for us as we checked into our room. Beautiful hotel and room set-up, beautiful view near the beach and all kinds of restaurants as well as a few minutes away from the flea market, which I highly recommend for those wanting to buy a little something for friends/family back home. Lots of great/cheap items. Matt was exceptional and i'm looking forward to coming back again soon. Thank you for all your help in accommodating us and helping us put together fun filled adventures.

Horrible service. They don NOT honor their price match guaranteed which is listed on their website. I have emails to back this up. I reached out to the management team and front staff and they said they cannot honor it for various reasons. Excuse after excuse. See proof in the pics I have here.

Looks good, but the mushrooms are sour , the service is whack, asked for Mamosa's and been waiting for 40 mins and still nothing

The hotel is clean updated, the free breakfast is what it is, and except nothing special, the mushrooms on the omelette were sour and nasty, I ended up throwing away most of the plate and felt bad so for doing, but you'll find better breakfast down the way and spend the few bucks to do so and you won't waste your time eating at the medano - Captains Quaters restaurant, the service is poor and will just you the food and never returned and I have waited for 40 mins for my Mimosasi ordered and they never came out, if you have a choice stay at the Cabo Tesoro for their great breakfast

We reserved two chairs right on the beach, and it truly felt like the ultimate Cabo experience. The chairs and umbrellas were comfortable and perfectly set up for a relaxing afternoon in the sun. From the moment we arrived, the service was attentive and welcoming, even though the beach club was busy, we never felt overlooked. We spent hours sipping cocktails and enjoying some absolutely delicious food. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and the ceviche was bright, flavorful, and perfect for a warm afternoon by the ocean. Everything felt elevated but still fun and relaxed. The DJ added such a great vibe to the day, lively and energetic without being overbearing or obnoxious. It struck that perfect balance: classy, upbeat, and fun, but still easy to hold a conversation and truly unwind. Overall, SUR Beach House delivers that ideal Cabo beach club atmosphere- great music, fantastic food and drinks, beautiful ocean views, and genuinely attentive service.

5 stars for the view/ambiance 1 star for the service…read more2 stars for the food The view is outstanding! Located right on the beach you can either sit right on the beach or on the shaded terrace - which is one level higher and also where the bar is. You can reserve a table via Open Table which makes reservations easy. The service wasn't very friendly. They acted like we were doing them a favor by eating there and our waitress was downright surly! The food was good but weird. Mostly because the menu descriptions did not exactly match what we ordered. For example we ordered the burrata salad and not only did it come with pesto as advertised, but they also put guacamole on it. Weird! We expected it to have both tomatillo salsa and pesto per the menu but not guacamole! Another example was we ordered the salmon tartare which was advertised as having mezcal aoli, tobiko, goat cheese and another sauce. Well when it arrived it is basically a cheese dip like you'd get in the MidWest with tiny (1/8" minced pieces) salmon shavings in the 97% goat cheese covered in a layer of "tobiko" but as someone who eats sushi multiple times a week I can say with pretty high certainty that it was actually the cheaper/smaller/milder masago and not real tobiko - I mean both are fish eggs but I can tell the difference. But fish eggs aside this was NOT a salmon tartare it was a goat cheese dip that consisted of a small 3% of the dish having minced almost microscopic salmon. I mean for a cheese dip it was weird but tasted ok but this dish for sure is NOT a salmon tartare. It's pretty sad my favorite thing I ate here were the sweet potatoes fries that come premade so they are impossible to mess up. Those accompanied the lobster roll that was so over-seasoned and overcooked you couldn't even taste the flavor of the lobster. The second best thing I ate here after the sweet potato fries was the Macho ceviche. That was good - I'd order it again. The grilled artichoke was also overcooked since it was over-charred so I kept getting a burnt taste in my mouth. Overall, the view was great, the service was bad and the food was weird. I won't be coming here again since there are tons of better tasting, better service restaurants in Cabo with just as good of a view.

I was confused when I got there - the website shows an overview of the ocean and their beach house - which is on the beach, but the actual hotel is a few blocks inward. They offer a golf cart ride down the street to drop you off. When you are at the beach house you let them know you're staying with the Bahia and entitled to certain discounts. So the staff is attentive and courteous. The pool looks good but it was primarily empty. The food looked good - we had breakfast there and it was very good. The beach house has an open area to sit down inside with shade, and there's a small sectioned off area on the beach in the sand. You get waitstaff to get drinks for you. At times it can get really crowded, but then again it was busy there - right after Spring Break. It is quite loud and noisy there - with music and crowds. The rooms - were very nice. The bed was king, it was firm, it was comfortable, it was clean. There was also an extra small bed aside for guests - we never used it. It is spacious. The bathrooms were nice and clean too. The doors are heavy and secure, so make sure when you leave they are completely closed and locked because one night we thought so - but it did not latch. We came back and the door was open, we freaked out, but all was good and safe. We were lucky. Just make sure the door is secure and latched and you'll be fine. But overall I thought this place was great and I would recommend them. The rooms are very nice and clean. Staff was accommodating. If you're okay with it not being exactly on the beach then you'll be fine here.

While the theft itself was extremely concerning, the most disappointing part of our experience was the response from front desk staff and management. Rather than demonstrating urgency, empathy, or accountability, we were made to feel as though we had done something wrong. Our concerns were not taken seriously, and there was little effort to investigate, provide reassurance, or offer any meaningful resolution. Due to the lack of trust that followed, we no longer felt comfortable allowing staff into our room and declined housekeeping for the remainder of our 4-night stay. This significantly impacted our comfort and overall experience. For a property of this caliber, both the incident and its handling fell far below expectations. This experience left a lasting negative impression and raises serious concerns about guest safety and how such situations are managed. We would strongly encourage management to take this matter seriously and address both the incident and their response to it, as it significantly impacts guest trust and safety.

We heard nothing but raving reviews from our guests about the rooms and cleanliness of the entire resort. I already had family and friends asking when we can come back for our anniversaries lol. Now for our wedding: The planning through Casa Dorada's wedding coordinator, Katherine Anaya, was seamless and so easy. I can't express enough how amazing she was to handle everything for my husband and I since we are from California. The location of the resort is perfectly on the beach with nearby bars and restaurants. Yes you can hear the music from the bars but it stops at 9:30/10pm. Didn't hear any complaints from any of ours guests (ages 25-83). The wedding ceremony and reception was at the 12 Tribes Terrace and they really transformed the atmosphere to be exactly how I envisioned the wedding! If you're hesitant about doing a destination wedding in Cabo, I researched about 20 resorts and landed on Casa Dorada because of the value, location and how beautiful the resort looks. We are so happy with how our wedding came out and how amazing the staff is at this resort. We want to highlight our amazing wedding planner (through the resort) Katherine Anaya who handled everything for us and made sure the whole wedding experience was stress free and seamless for us. Her first impression through email with me truly made me feel her hospitality and kindness. Meeting her in person for our pre-wedding trip January 2026 just solidified that we have an amazing person helping create our wedding vision and bring it to life! She even went as far as having a custom wedding slideshow playing in our hotel room that had our pictures from our wedding website. The attention to detail Katherine gives is beyond what I could've ever imagined from anyone! Another person I want to mention was Rene at the 12 Tribes Restaurant. We met him during our pre-wedding trip and he handled everything with ease for our signature His/Her drinks and our food tasting samples. Right away his great hospitality and kind spirit could immediately be seen and felt. For our wedding in April 2026, Rene remembered us and gave nothing short of excellent service during our entire wedding week when we saw him or ate at the 12 Tribes restaurant. Rene was actually a server during our wedding and was making sure everything was going smoothly and made sure we felt at home. Two more people who are worth mentioning: Heriberto at the swim-up bar and Michele at the B Bar. Two awesome people who love what they do. They remembered us each time we came back to them. They remembered our drink orders and truly made us feel like family there. If you're thinking about a wedding at Casa Dorada, my advice to you is do it and you won't regret it. It truly felt like our home away from home. Muchas gracias Casa Dorada!!! We will definitely be back! This isn't goodbye, but see you soon!!

He decided he wouldn't take no for an answer after I told him I didn't want to be hit on or talk to him. He became increasingly aggressive. I tried to keep de-escalating. He told me that we WOULD get to know each other. He pushed his phone to me with his Instagram. It was full of pictures of naked women. I went to the host desk. I smiled, so I wouldn't upset him further. I kept smiling and told them I needed him to go away. He came up behind me. They called hotel security, who quickly came over. The man (Ryan) left with his bottle of wine. Security escorted me to my room. I saw him waving from the balcony of a room above mine, very near. I asked to be moved. I was frightened. They changed my room, but I did not sleep the entire night. The next morning, I spoke to the manager, Francisco Escuer. He told me: "I watched the tape, you were talking to the man and smiling. You smiled at the host stand. Why were you smiling if you were asking for help to get away from that guy?" I said, "Because he was coming after me, and that's what women do, so we don't aggravate men we know are dangerous." He said, "Well, his girlfriend didn't report anything." Again, I said: "Women don't report abusers because they are not believed, just like you are not believing me." Escuer also screamed at me and accused me of recording our conversation. He made physical gestures toward me during this. I told him I needed the tape, his information and the hotel's information. He refused to give me anything and yelled at me. I had to check out, pay for that stay, and another hotel. Escuer/the hotel are not safe for women.

Check-In Experience As soon as we stepped out of the car, multiple staff members greeted us warmly. One offered welcome drinks, another handled our luggage, and we were introduced to our private butler. The butler took my phone number and let me know I could text anytime for assistance. Another staff member completed our check-in -- we never had to visit the front desk. We simply handed over our passports and credit card, and everything was taken care of. Room & Upgrade As Hilton Diamond members, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to 2 Bedroom Resort Casita with Plunge Pool without even asking. ‍ All rooms in this hotel have its own private pool. While the view wasn't the best (we could see the family pool rather than a clear ocean view), the villa itself was huge and very comfortable. Full kitchen, washer, and dryer made the stay extremely convenient. Even the bathroom tissues were scented -- a small but thoughtful detail! Things to Improve * Slippers were not very comfortable * Pillows were very soft -- great if you like soft pillows, but if you prefer firmer/high pillows, you may need to request extras * Didn't see cotton pads or cotton swabs in the room (probably available upon request) * Wi-Fi connection was unstable at times Overall Despite a few small drawbacks, the service, upgrade, and villa experience made this stay very memorable. The personalized check-in and Diamond recognition truly stood out.

I was told they do not sell hookah any more as police shut down serving hookah at the establishment a few months prior. again, SHOULD BE NOTED ON THE WEBSITE. She came back after a few minutes to offer us drink on the house, again no apology. We spoke to two managers, neither of which who offered real solutions. They said she will reach out to us and pay for the damages. She reached out via Instagram and said she would take care of the cost. My friend was able to get her screen fixed and sent her a copy of the receipt. She has not responded and messages are going green, as if she is blocked. She tried to make up for the damages with her service, and i appreciate her efforts but her lack of acknowledgment of the damages done to my friends property and lying about following up to take care of the situation is disheartening. The positives: The food and service were particularly good; they have a Michelin rated restaurant, Manta, on site, which has a 5 course tasting menu I recommend trying. We actually tried every food option (rooftop bar for dinner, pool bar for apps, Sunken Living Room for breakfast/dinner, The Ledge for breakfast/dinner, Manta for dinner) and found them all to be distinct in their own right but uniformly quite good. Most memorable items were the tofu salad at the Rooftop bar, the rice chips at Manta and the tempura fish tacos. Prices are pretty expensive, similar to CA Bay Area pricing. There are 2 pools and the beach immediately in front of the hotel was very nice (lots of surfers!). Some rooms also included plunge pools! The negative: the only issue we had was the constant loud music - from the pool bar during the day and from the rooftop bar at night. I wore earplugs the entire trip to dull the high decibels. The loudness seemed unnecessary to create fun atmosphere as it was deafening. Nevertheless, we would stay again if we are in the area. Though I strongly prefer the Costa Palmas area of Cabo more. Tip: Thompson is part of World of Hyatt; Globalists receive daily free breakfast that runs to 11:30am, which helped reduced food costs somewhat.
