Came to dinner here with my German colleagues. The parking on the street was ok. The entry ti…read morethe restaurant was interesting. Up the stairs to the inside that had many interesting decorations. To the back to a table for five. We waiter gave us the specials. Mussels, spare ribs and a suckling park dish. I opted for the pumpkin soup. My colleagues had calamari and escargot. Everyone enjoyed. For the main, I followed a colleagues recommendation and had the kinder Schnitzel Wiener Art mit Champignon-Rahm Sauce. The portion was still ample!! The taste was heaven!! It brought very fond memories of a restaurant in Cleveland called Sutters which sadly closed years ago. In any case, this schnitzel was excellent!!! The server had quite a sense of humor! I paid for the dinner. Upon leaving with my four male colleagues the waiter says, she bought the dinner so she didn't have to cook. Lol! Of course. I just responded. True. Plus I couldn't make schnitzel that delicious. ! It was a nice evening and great meal. Will love to return if in the area again.

By far one of the top schnitzel restaurants in Germany. That's not an easy compliment to get, but…read morewell deserved. Tannenburg is one of those places you have to drive to, but it is still a cool spot and the interior is well laid out. Great location, the owner is a pleasure to talk to, and now for the star of the show, the schnitzel. The size is that of a plate, pounded thin and cooked well for whichever sauce you can choose, or go wiener art. The sides are also on point and there is no chance you will leave here hungry. This one is worth the drive. Get there early as they draw a crowd.

Fellow Americans be warned! The staff is very rude with the exception of a few. I went their before…read morewith a German friend whom was showing me around to various places to go and eat. Having a good experience before and the food was decent I decided to go back with family. When we first got there and was standing at the door to check in for a table, we were passed many times by staff without receiving an acknowledgement of any kind. It was a little uneasy at first but thought maybe they were just busy. It kept going for a while. Then a young lady (looked half German/half American) that was working the bar came over to seat us. When taking our order the guy spoke little English but had to ask a colleague for a word that he was trying to say in English and she rolled her eyes. Again I was dismissive thinking she must had to translate all day for him. He was very nice and brought over menus in English (don't know why they even have them). Anyway, there's an older Asian looking guy there that really made the younger staff very rude. They were standing around watching us while we ate then he would go in the kitchen and yell something loud and obnoxious while they all stared laughing. When it was time to pay was the only time that old rudeness came to our table without a hello, how was everything nothing!...just harshly said how much our food was as if he thought we wouldn't have the money to pay. I was like well hello and how are you?!!! Gave him a credit card and he again harshly said "CASH ONLY...euros or dollars". Luckily I had cash. I told him the place was very unwelcoming and he laughed and said "I welcome everybody" as he walked away laughing and looked back with a discourteous wave and said "tschuss". Shockingly he spoke perfect English because at first he pretended that he couldn't speak any English. This is not typical German behavior. I have been to Germany before and find that most are very nice people. This place just has issues with little girls following their leader (an old bitter guy) whom is probably bitter for his own reasons and is controlling them due to their lack of self identity. But overall feel free to go try it for yourself and please post your experience because it may be just the Sunday staff. I wouldn't know because they would not receive another 1 of anything from me -- cash or euros!
