6 Lyric Pre-School kids in a soccer team together. So priceless. =)
    Nixon V.

We LOVE this school! All of the teachers and staff are very warm and friendly. My first son graduated from Lyric and missed all of the teachers. The social skills and education he gained here allowed him to become a better student at his current elementary school. My second son now attends the 3-year-old Sun Shine program, and is flourishing! A few of my favorite things about the school are how nurturing the teachers, the multiple play yards, the early drop-off / late pick-up options, creative activities, potty training assistance, parents participation, and can't forget "PARENTS NIGHT OUT"! We've searched around the area for a proper pre-school that will match our needs and assist us with the physical and educational growth of our kids. We are so thankful for Lyric Pre-School, this place is such a "GEM" in our community. I will always recommend this pre-school to all of our friends and future parents. **NOTE** 6 of the Lyric Pre-School kids became best friends which lead to playing soccer together as a team.

We are so incredibly fortunate to have found a school like Lyric Preschool. Mr. Curtis from the beginning has always been so kind-hearted and personable. Before we enrolled our son, he gave us a wonderful tour of the preschool, and we instantly felt that the children here were happy, thriving, and very considerate. They were so sweet and kept coming up to our son, partially out of curiosity but it really made him very comfortable. We felt like Lyric would be the right place for us. And boy were we right :). Our son entered the school when he was 2 years and 2 months old. We had a newborn at the time, and the teachers helped tremendously with the transition into a new environment. When he had his bad days, they knew how to make him happy! They also were super encouraging during the process of potty training! And his vocabulary grew tremendously. We also feel that our son felt comfortable expressing himself and his feelings. I can't emphasize enough how much the teachers at this school go above and beyond. Our family loves each and every one of them. They are loving, playful, attentive, and really help our little one thrive. They understand and encourage the nuances in the different ways these little individuals communicate and respect the different personalities of each student. They are very engaging and nurturing and supportive. And, they still ensure that rules are adhered to and great structure is provided. They really are instrumental in the development and well-being of our child. Our second son is excited to attend this school as well. He visits once in a while. As a parent, it brings me so much joy and comfort seeing all the updates (videos, photos, and messages) I get throughout the day on the preschool app. I love seeing my son's smiley face and hearing him giggle with his friends, and I appreciate everything that the teachers do to make sure we feel connected with our son while we are at work. My friends that send their kids to other preschools are low-key jealous that we get so many fun photos and videos. And the creativity and fun that comes out of the teachers' brains!!! I just love the activities and events that they plan for the kids: Circus day with games, face painting, and prizes, the Easter egg hunt extravaganza, a Starbucks and Disneyland themed Halloween event, and all the singing and dancing that goes on behind the scenes! All the adorable photos and crafts that our son comes home with...the cuteness is just beyond! They sure know how to keep the kids productive, constantly learning, and very happy. Our son always leaves school with a smile on his face. And that's what matters the most!

You do get what you pay for! At Lyric Pre-School your child will learn so much. I previously had my son in daycare (wayyy cheaper than Lyric) and once I decided to switch him over to Lyric (to prepare him for kinder), I was impressed at the rate of education and progress my son has shown. Lyric Pre-School is a pretty penny, but it's well worth the monthly tuition I pay for my son's education. Curtis, the owner, prepares hot meal lunches from SCRATCH everyday (included in the tuition), there's play time, music time, learning time, nap time, lunch, etc all rolled into a day. Curtis also plays the piano for the kids to sing and dance to. My son's current teacher Ms. Roxann is also nice and friendly. Overall, every member of Lyric's teachers and adult monitors are well-vetted by Curtis and all seem so nice, patient and sweet. I am 110% happy that I moved my son over to Lyric to prepare him for Franklin Ave Elementary. If you're in doubt, walk into Lyric and speak with Curtis or another teacher. I'm sure you can't just read a Yelp review and make a decision on your child's education. Check out Lyric though, Curtis has an open door policy and there's no need to make an appointment or sign up for a meeting or school tour or wait for an opening.

    We love Mr. Curtis.

Our family has had such a wonderful experience at Montessori Academy of West Adams over the past…read moretwo years. From the very beginning, we were drawn to their individualized academic approach, which truly allows each child to grow at their own pace while building confidence and a genuine love of learning. It has been incredible to watch our daughter thrive in an environment that recognizes her unique strengths and encourages her curiosity every single day. The teachers are absolutely amazing--warm, attentive, and deeply committed to making every child feel supported and valued. We especially appreciate all the extra thought and creativity that goes into making her early school years so memorable, from engaging activities to special events that bring so much joy to my daughter. Thanks to this wonderful community, our daughter's first experiences with school has been nothing short of extraordinary, and we are so grateful to be part of it.

We cannot say enough about how special MAWA is. Choosing a preschool is such an important decision,…read moreand we feel endlessly grateful that MAWA became the foundation of our daughter's early childhood. The directors, administrative team, and teachers are truly exceptional. They bring so much intention, warmth, and care to everything they do. It is clear that they see and value each child as an individual, and they create an environment where children feel safe, confident, and inspired to explore the world around them. Our daughter has grown into such a thoughtful, curious, creative, and kind little person, and MAWA played an enormous role in that. She learned not just academic fundamentals, but how to be a good friend, how to express herself, how to ask questions, and how to move through the world with confidence and empathy. There is something truly magical about this school. It is a community in the fullest sense of the word, and the impact extends far beyond the classroom. We will always be grateful to MAWA for helping shape who our daughter is becoming. It is an extraordinary place, and any family would be lucky to be part of it.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you end up using Michelle, it will ruin all other agencies for you…read more I am a professional career nanny. I have over seven years of nannying experience, five years of teaching experience, and more. I have a B/S in childhood development as well as my MAT. When I began my search for a nanny-family in LA, I did my due diligence by shopping around looking at multiple agencies. I found that Michelle had the TOP RATED AGENCY ON MULTIPLE SITES and wanted to take a closer look. I read through every. single. review. I thought to myself, "Really? Every single person had a positive experience with this agency? That's just not statistically possible if she's really working with this many people..." I decided to set up a meeting. I drove to her office where we met to discuss particulars (what I'm looking for, what families are in the market for a nanny right now, what ages/salary/commute/hours I'm looking for) and the moment she opened the door and greeted me with a giant smile and her upbeat, positive attitude, I felt like just working with HER was my perfect placement! Once we started the process, Michelle was completely professional while also refreshingly honest and realistic in her suggestions. She really took the time to get to know me and what I was looking for and she only suggested me to families that she knew had the potential to be a "love match!" After looking at a few potential matches, Michelle called me to tell me that she had "found my family!" She said, "This is the one. Please go for an interview and see for yourself." So I did. This is the part of the review where I'm going to get annoyingly emotional. Not only did the family and I immediately "click," but Michelle had made sure that all of our stats were in alignment. The age range, schedule, amount of hours, commuting time, pay rate, expectations and needs happened to all align with what I was looking for. It was LITERALLY the PERFECT PLACEMENT!!!! Coincidence? I think not. Michelle is highly intelligent, professional, personable, understanding, diligent, experienced, communicative, and pleasantly charismatic and I owe my job satisfaction directly to her. Now that I think about it, maybe I should send over a bottle of wine. Thank you, Michelle, for just being so incredibly good at what you do. As I mentioned earlier, when I started this process, I read through every one of your (5 star) reviews and thought, "There's just no way every single review can be five stars..." and now here I am adding one more.

It seemed like I had landed a few dream jobs only for it to slip away from me. Really trying times. Then I met Michelle! This brings a smile to my face. Meeting with her felt like chatting with a friend. I realized after that this is her skill. She loves people and wants to represent both the families and the nannies. It was a slow period and she didn't have any job opportunities at the time when I signed up with her agency, the perfect placement. After being on the hunt for my top nanny job with a kind family for many months and it wasn't happening I was getting ready to move out of state. I mentioned to Michelle that I'm no longer looking for a position as it doesn't seem like it's going to happen. Michelle didn't give up on me. She called me with 2 opportunities. I went on both interviews and was called back to do a trial for the one that I wanted !! Yay !! Then Michelle negotiated some time off that I needed to take care of a health issue. The family was so wonderful they waited for me ! All I can say everything lined up perfectly. Michelle will always return your call in a timely manner and she always checks in to see how you're doing. I thank God I met Michelle !

Got him interested to use scissors (found out he's a lefty here and provided him lefty scissors) and through his art class made some classy stuff. Pieces that are still on the walls of our house. Stuff he made for Father's Day that is still sentimental to the hubby. They go on monthly field trips (like Kidspace) but what's cool is that they utilize Metro or Dash to the city library for magic shows, story time, puppet shows, or to parks like Grand Park (splashing around). It is affiliated with a Japanese Buddhist church so they do go to the Hondo for some gassho and singing with the minister in the morning (15 mins). From observation the families that utilize this resource are very diverse--I would even say that Japanese families are in the minority here. I am of the group that chose this place due to its proximity to my workplace, and I think others have too. Ms. Susan has been director for quite some time and I've personally seen old students now adults say hi to her at Nishi obon. Staff are very kind and nurturing. The daycare is nicely situated in a space that is shaded so they aren't going to roast when playing outside. Even now as my kid is enrolled at public school TK I still take him here during LAUSD winter breaks, or the myriad of "no instruction days" on their calendar. They take kids up to age 6 so this has been a godsend to me. Kids as young as 2 must come potty trained. Currently monthly tuition is $1170 might be $50 lower per month if you pay to become a temple member.

But Ms. Susan, Ms. Maria, Ms. Gaby, and the whole team are so loving, that my fears melted away immediately. The teachers really get to know the kids, their strengths and needs, and develop an individual plan for each one to help them grow intellectually and personally. Each year, they complete an academic and social-emotional evaluation for each child, and it's amazing to see how much personal detail goes into the daily activities. The Nishi Center isn't just a school, it's a real community, both for the kids and the parents. Some of my son's classmates have parents who went to Nishi when they were kids thirty years ago, and they drive across town to give their kids the same great experience. My younger child just started at Nishi, and I'm so glad that we get to continue our relationship with this beautiful group of people in this very special community.
