I am 1 1/2 years out from a hysterectomy and 1 week out from a laparoscopy for endometriosis.  Each procedure was performed by a different doctor, and the experiences were night and day. With my hysterectomy, a doctor from Beacon performed a few tests on me and told me I was "fine and everything looked OK."  I won't get into too much detail here, but I will say that, even though I'd experienced significant pain for well over 20 years, I still put my hysterectomy off a year because she didn't take my concerns seriously, which made me wonder if maybe I was just over exaggerating my situation.  After she performed my hysterectomy, she never told me of her findings.  I asked questions that I could think of, but it was ultimately up to her to explain what she found.  It wasn't until a year and a half later that my primary care doctor sent me to a different doctor with Beacon.  This is when I found out the results of my hysterectomy - adenomyosis in addition to endometriosis.  Saying that I was "floored" by the results is an understatement.  The first doctor never told me of those findings, and she never offered the additional treatment necessary for someone with endo. Not only did the new doctor's office (Dr. Lyons and Erin Fuller) explain to me the results of my hysterectomy, but they explained to me what should have been done and how I needed to proceed moving forward.  With every test and with the eventual laparoscopy, every detail was explained fully, and every question from me was answered. Dr. Lyons and his staff is absolutely wonderful and kind.  I always felt like they took so much time with me - my first appointment with Erin was 45 minutes!Dr. Lyons himself is a quiet man who will instantly put you at ease.  At no point in my care did I wonder if I was in the right hands, unlike how I felt with the previous doctor. In my follow-up meeting with him, he went through the surgical notes and showed me pictures of his findings.  What a difference from my first experience.  I just can't stress that enough. Because of my history with endometriosis, as well as extenuating circumstances, there is a strong possibility that I will be back for another surgery in a year or two.  I absolutely would not hesitate to have Dr Lyons perform another surgery.  He's absolutely wonderful, and I highly recommend him. I was referred to Dr. Lyons after an abnormal pap with my general physician so one may imagine my apprehension and concern before my first appointment at Dr. Lyon's Office. Once you open the door to the waiting area it is apparent that patient comfort is certainly a priority to Dr. Lyons. Wait time is minimal, about 10-15 minutes, and once escorted to the exam room the thought that they care about comfort is confirmed. You are provided a tall cabinet in which you may hang your clothes and place your belongings as opposed to the usual fold and pile on the chair. Each room also has a space heater that will be adjusted to your preference. Procedures, results, and options are explained in detail to allow for the patient to make well informed decisions they are comfortable with. At each visit I felt as though I was the only patient and that each staff member was dedicated solely to my well being. Dr. Lyons has managed to exceed my expectations, I didn't even know I had expectations!, by providing a level of care that I didn't (and am willing to bet that most don't) know existed. As I write this review I feel better than I have in years and I know that it is because of the quality of care I have received from Dr. Lyons and his staff. I never imagined I would refer to a healthcare provider as amazing and fantastic but Dr. Lyons really has set a standard that not only broke whatever mold existed but called for a new mold to be engineered. If you are seeking an OB GYN doctor and staff who values patient care, look no further! I can be pretty critical of the medical care I receive as I have high expectations. Although no entity is perfect, I believe the foundational components include relaxed/peaceful environment, friendly/competent staff, minimal waiting time, and doctor/patient relationship are paramount. I am a new patient of Dr. Lyons and typically anxious when I enter a new doctor relationship. From the ease of communication, attention to details, scheduling appointments, and the environment of this doctor's office you will have a "win-win" experience. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and just recently had my successful laparoscopic surgery to remove what was there. The entire process was amazing, the staff is so genuine. Dr. Lyons even talked to me about college at one of my appointments. I am 17 years of age, so going to my appointments in the beginning overwhelmed me with anxiety but the staff is very patient and helpful, the office setting and the bedside manner makes you feel more at ease. I am more than grateful to have had dr. Lyons and his team behind this operation! Before considering surgery they exhausted all measures and went through all possible options before offering the surgery. I can finally say that after very many long rough years I am back to being a normal teenager without extreme pelvic pain! Dr. Lyons is the best OB/GYN - Pelvic Health doctor!!! He is very compassionate and operates with excellence and knowledge of your condition. When I had my surgery with the DaVinci Robot...Dr. Lyons sent other surgerical staff to my relatives letting them know how my surgery was going! I was so thankful that he was concerned about my relatives and keeping then well informed during my surgery! He kept me at ease during this whole process and his staff is very helpful as well. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Lyons! I went to him after 2 years of being diagnosed with a prolapsed bladder. Come to find out...It was NOT a bladder prolapse! He scheduled my surgery quickly and corrected my issue. The surgery went so well and so quickly that I was in recovery before I knew it and home that same day. I was expecting to be in a great deal of pain, cause I had looked the surgery up on line. But I had so little pain I only had to use 1 pain pill! cannot recommend Dr. Lyons highly enough!!! read more

I highly recommend Dr. Lyons. He is the first doctor who listened to me and took my symptoms seriously without pathologizing them as well. Dr. Lyon performed a hysteroscopy, with D&C for endometrial hyperplasia. The hospital nurses took great care of me. Then, his office called 3 days in a row to check on me.
