Honey sent me a nasty text when she thought I went to another barber and complained that I didn't give her a $5 tip.

I said three or four times "low fade" and as I felt the clippers go too high I kept saying take it easy, I said low fade. Not the greatest cut. I do like two other local-ish places. G Q in centerville and Hicks in downtown dayton off of brown st(? I think)--these two places require an appointment. This seventh five cent place is walk in. I would Not get a close fade. If i go again (not likely) I'll ask for just a trim. I'd give it a 2 star, but this may have just been a bad luck cut. I loved the place when the lady was there -- they do have another lady. Not sure how she does, but a guy got a haircut from her while I was there and it looked fine.

This is my favorite barber shop in town, only 5.75 for a regular cut, old school type place all…read morearound. If you're looking for some kind of fancy metro-sexual cut and manicure, this ain't the place for you. If on the other hand you want a good, consistent hair cut and some really interesting conversation all for under 10 bucks with a tip, have a seat! Ask for Melvin when you go here, he runs the place and always gives a good reliable cut, no frills. The walls are adorned with pictures of John Wayne and other various actors from the 50's and 60's, the magazine rack is well stocked with content ranging from hunting, guns in general, motorcycles, military aircraft, and general outdoor type stuff. The conversation can get pretty interesting, guaranteed to not be politically correct, not many places around like this anymore and that's why I like it! You won't find me getting my hair cut anywhere else, why would anyone want to go anywhere else? The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because aside from Melvin the other barbers here seem to come and go, often the wait time can be a little long.
