There were many major decisions to be made, due to being near the ocean. Constant sun, glare, chance of fading fabrics, so much to consider. We love the open concept of the big windows, but privacy was also an issue. We were fortunate enough to meet Kristin Summer in the Burlington, MA Shade Store, and she could not have been more patient, professional, wise, helpful, and she treated us like family members. Together, with Kristin, we chose beautiful fabrics for Roman Shades, complementing linens for floor to ceiling pleated drapes, roller shades, cornices, elegant drapery hardware, custom everything! Kristin selected beautiful fabrics, and after our very first visit to The Shade Store, she knew exactly what our style was, our color choices, yet adding that elegant touch of class that makes you immediately say, "we love it!" Even the decision of what kind of cords we wanted, just how much "blackout" was needed for certain rooms, and the willingness to meet all of our needs, for every single room. We are not big fans of white liners behind all of our drapes and shades, because the outside of our home is a taupe color, and we wanted everything to blend in with the outside of our home as well. Needless to say, it was a challenge, but Kristin helped with choosing the perfect liner colors to not only make our home beautiful on the inside, but the outside as well. They also sent pull rods way too short for the curtains and have not responded to his numerous requests to fix the curtains and give him the right length pulls. Overall, we highly recommend never shopping here.

He measured the windows and told me he'd provide me with a quote the following day. I got the promised quote (very reasonable) the next day and decided to proceed with the project. The shades arrived within the time frame Rich gave me and when he had them, he called to schedule the installation. Rich and his coworker again arrived at the promised time and the install was so quick! I'm in love with my new shades. At a time where it's hard to get a contractor to just return a phone call, Rich and his company were a breath of fresh air from start to finish!

We had 3 tricky windows (a…read morevery, very large window; a sliding door; and a kitchen sink window with a small "eyelash" at the top) that I wasn't sure that we would be able to put Lutron smart blinds on but he was able to come up with a very elegant solution for all 3 that was also within our budget. He did a great job of walking us through all of our options, pros/cons of each, and provided us recommendations that felt tailored to our situation & budget (ie, I never felt like I was being upsold on anything). After having an in-home consultation to go over everything and take measurements we placed our order. The day of install, James and a colleague arrived on-time and installed the 9 blinds in less than an hour (seriously, they were so fast). They were very professional and respectful of our home (eg, cleaned up after themselves). There was a delivery issue with one of blinds (not Budget Blinds fault) and James sorted the issue that day and came by outside of business hours to finish the install for that last blind, which was greatly appreciated. Four months later and I am still in love with the Lutron smart blinds--one of the best upgrades we made to our home. I was the most hesitant about the shade for the kitchen sink window, as I was having trouble visualizing what it would look like, but that shade turned out absolutely beautiful. It has a very neutral background and even with that it looks the same as the day it was installed. Had several installers to choose from but Freddy strongly recommended Norman because of the way the stairs were laid out (90 degree turn at the bottom). Norman even overcast the cut edges of the unused runner pieces for a nominal charge to make a couple of small area rugs we're using in the kitchen. We couldn't be happier with the decision and will definitely be back to see Freddy the next time we need an oriental.
