Dr. Mojica has been my family's dentist for years now... I'm that mom whose kid kicks and screams and tries to escape the plastic kid holder that lays on top of the dentist chair... This office won his heart and removed his fears, he was only 5 at the time I believe. As a matter of fact- my terrified husband who's walked out of almost every dental offices because he has no pain threshold and can feel EVERYTHING came home complacent for the first time in his more than 50years of living!!! I realized that it's been almost 5 years since I've written a review for this dental office but my opinion on this place still holds true. I have to reiterate that I don't feel any drops in level of service. If anything, I believe they've actually upped their game. Again, whenever I go there, I never feel any pain during any of the procedures. So either I'm dead inside OR Dr. Mojica is just awesome at her job. (The latter being very true and the former being not untrue.) I see having a dentist (and a primary care physician) as a partnership. I make sure that I'm making my appointments and seeing my dentist on a regular basis. I think dentists like to know that you care about your oral health just as much as they do. Dr. Mojica, continues to exceed my expectations and it would be a very very sad day if I ever had to move out of the area. Also, a quick shout out to Jenni the dental assistant as she's just as awesome as everyone else on the staff. I moved out of the city to the North Bay, so am no longer a patient of Dr. Mojica's, but I found her and the staff to be pleasant and professional at every visit. On one occasion that I had to have a filling replaced, Dr. Mojica was exceedingly patient with my (probably overly anxious) concerns about the efficacy of the pain killer she was using prior to the procedure. That kind of care is nothing short of golden, and on the basis of that experience alone, I recommend her services. read more

I came here for a check up a yearish ago. Everyone was friendly.. kind.. inviting. During my checkup, I was told I had a root canal and 10+ cavities to take care of. I instantly was in disbelief just because my oral care isn't THAT bad.. I brush after every meal / morning & night, floss occasionally and use mouth wash every brush.. but eh.. feeling defeated, I then booked my appointment for my root canal and had a treatment plan for the cavities. Coming into my root canal appointment, I was told that this root canal was fairly difficult.. but she was doing me a 'favor'. The roots were curved and it was a molar. I had no knowledge about root canals and there even was a specialist for them. I wish I did to be honest but being your first, it's intimidating and scary. She attempted to treat the root canal, 2+ hours long.. she couldn't successfully treat it. I had to come in AGAIN.. 2+ hours a second time.. the metal utensil BROKE in my tooth and she gave up leaving pulp in my root.. so much for that favor.. I paid and left. Like what? She never gave me an endodontist referral, she never said how I can treat this.. she never advised me that it could get infected.. she just took my money and told me to come back for those cavities / cleaning. This tooth still to this day isn't crowned. it's just a dud.. LMAO okay, I said to myself.. something is not right but I came back for that cleaning. I advised the lady who did my cleaning to be GENTAL.. I had fillings and didn't want for any to pop out.. well, there she goes with the floss.. flossing so hard with no care in the world.. and there it goes.. popped out a filling behind my front tooth. I was so upset and mad.. literally holding back tears. At that point, i needed a new dentist / second opinion. I got this filling refilled and never came back. I saw Dr Tobar, and was told that this root canal needed to be redone.. BY A SPECIALIST (should of been referred from the start but now monitoring it).. and i only had, wait for it, ONE CAVITY. Let's just end by.. i obviously didn't come back to this dentist.. i don't want to accuse anyone but were you trying to scam me? why didn't you refer me to a endodontist if you knew this root canal was difficult?.. why didn't advise me? you left me with a failed root canal but more worried about 10+ 'cavities' you billed my insurance for before even making an appointment.. Avoid this dentist, she was friendly but you can clearly tell (from my point of view) she was in it for the money. I still haven't gotten a refund for my root canal even disputing it with my insurance, but you do you.. keep it. A year later.. thanks for the black, abscess forming, uncrowned, partially pulp filled tooth.. Stop doing favors and start REFERRING people who are more qualified to take these tougher cases on. Looking forward to the potential implant you left me with, but luckily for me.. MY MONEY IS NOT GOING TO YOU. read more

Growing up in Eastern Europe, I have always been scared of dentists. But after an amazing experience with Dr. Mojica, my fears are all gone. I did not even realize I already had the anesthesia injected, that is how gentle her hands are. The place is exceptionally clean and smells good! It feels like a spa! The office staff are all nice and sweet. Suri's knowledge in making us maximize our insurance benefits is very appreciated. I've been to the dentist so many times, that it's all pretty standard routine procedure to me. So when I chose Dr Mojica, it sad because I saw that she had good reviews and was friendly. I sent my boyfriend first: he said nice place and friendly staff. Great, I'll make an appt. Highlights: the awesome banter between Dr Mojica and her wonderful asst Jenny, which I of course joined in (as much as possible with sharp objects and hoses in my mouth), and the sunglasses. Ok, I've been to the dentist so many times, and NEVER have I been given shades for that damn light they put over your face! Be sure to ask for the full shade selection, it's pretty amazing! The important stuff: Dr Mojica and her staff are very knowledgeable and considerate of the fact that it gets uncomfortable having all kinds of things in your mouth, and they really are careful and gentle with the work. That was also the shortest appt ever, yet I feel like they did an exceptional job. The "delish" was ehh, but I won't ding them on the flavor of the cleaning stuff, I mean, it could have been awful. The office is really nice, it's an upstairs house, which is set up with the exam rooms. (My old dentist was in a high rise and it was basically cubicles with chairs, so the house with rooms is really comforting.) In conclusion, switching to this dentist was a great decision. I don't think I've ever said a dentist appt was hilarious before! I'm looking forward to mine and my boyfriend's teeth's future in Dr Mojica's care. read more

I usually don't like to write reviews but the experience I had with this dental office was horrible. I chose this dentist office because it is close to where I live and I just signed up for dental insurance for my son and I so I wanted to utilized the opportunity to get both of our dental done at once. Well, not only was the service was very unprofessional. This dental office took my insurance money but they never even installed the braces for me!!! My insurance company had to go after them to try to get the money back from them. They just got the money back this week (thank god) and I was going to go through a different dental offIce to get braces done. They called Lynn Mojica office to transfer over record to see when was the last time I got my teeth clean and Suri told them that I had cavities that still need to be fillled... what? Why was I never informed of this? I was going to get my braces done at this place so wouldn't it makes sense to get the cavities taken care of and then get braces done..? This place does things so backwards. I would have gotten my cavities taken care of last year if I was informed of this.. I am just so disappointed in this dental office. I'm glad my son goes to a different dental office and I do too. This place is trash. The dentist is trash and the receptionist is trash. I will never step foot in there again. I found out that my last dentist closed up shop the day after I cracked a molar. Dr. Mojica made an appointment for me the next day to evaluate, apologized that she was too busy to fix it that day (she needn't have apologized!), and DID fix me the next day. She has a great way with her patients, and she and her staff seem to function very well together. Glad I found her! read more

Ever since this place became popular, the quality has diminished. Be warned, they do not honor appointments in busy months (late November to December). They cancelled my appointment in November and wanted reschedule in January. This is actually the 2nd year in a row that this problem occurred. I visited another dentist and found that I've been missing out on the thoroughness of a cleaning. Also the price for orthodontic work is higher than average. And no more gift bag... Been going here for over 5 years, but it's time to move on to better things. read more

hmmm....she was nice, but that was the quickest cleaning of my life, and I'm wondering how well she actually did. To be fair, I went to UCSF after and they told me I had great teeth and hygiene, so maybe that's just the case and she didn't have much to clean off. Dr. Mojica told me I had to get 7 cavaties filled....! And then I went to UCSF Dental Clinic to get them done because I am poor and they told me no way....I had only 2 that needed filling. Apparently, it's common for most private dentists to get really drill happy and drill at the smallest sign of decay, but that's ridiculous. UCSF is putting me on prescription strength flouride treatment. Yeah, I'd rather do that than drilling, thanks.... I guess Dr. Mojica just takes the old-school conservative approach, but no thanks, I'll keep my own teeth if I can, thank you very much. Dr. Mojica is very nice and sweet. Her staff really wanted to help me figure out a payment plan, so at least they have that going for them. read more

I typically do not write Yelp reviews, but my experience at Dr. Mojica's office today was so exceptional that I was inspired to take some time and recommend her here. I busted a filling on Sunday and needed attention ASAP. After consulting my insurance for in-network providers I called Dr. Mojica on Monday morning. I chose her for her good reviews and her proximity to my home. Her staff was incredibly warm and accommodating to my situation and offered to take me in the next day. The experience at the dental office was also exceptional. The front desk was kind , courteous and professional and processed me quickly. Dr. Mojica herself is extremely polite and fun. Seriously, I am naturally predisposed to not like dentists as they are trained to drill holes in my head, but Dr. Mojica was fun, fast and got the job done well, checking more than once to ensure I was biting down properly after the filling was installed. I went to see Dr. Mojica for my braces and she has been doing a wonderful job. Her assistant, Jenny, is super friendly and easy to talk to. It's nice to be able to express your thoughts and concerns with such an easy going staff. They always take the time to make sure you're comfortable throughout the appointment. The office is very clean and welcoming. It feels like home so you're cozy and relaxed. I like how Dr. Mojica went over the various dental options I had available and she answered all of many many questions. I like how she never made me feel rushed or feel pressured to choose a certain dental plan. She made sure I was completely satisfied with the procedures I chose. Jenny is a wonderful assistant, she is always smiling and joking with the Doctor. It's nice to see such a great relationship between the staff. I like how Jenny always greeted me by name since day 1, it's nice to know that they make an extra effort to know all their patients. I love Dr. Mojica DMD. She is honest and does great dentistry work. Her work is always painless..sometimes it hurts, but I think it's just me. I moved to South Cali in 2004, but I still come to her office for any Restorative / Major work since I don't feel comfortable with anyone else. I do have a local Dentist that handles all my cleaning, and emergencies. Wow. I've never enjoyed going to the dentist, but can sincerely say I've looked forward to having to get some fillings and a teeth cleaning. In fact, I don't even live in the area anymore but because the kind, friendly, professional and thorough service they all provide, I'm going the distance to come back. 1. Unprofessional communication 2. Money-driven Lynn told me that I needed to get a tooth extracted, a bone-graft, and an implant. This is one the most expensive procedures that a dentist can submit. It also takes more than 6 months to complete. Lynn advised that a bone-graft was necessary without taking a panoramic scan of my teeth/jaw line. RED FLAG. Needless to say, I went to a different dentist and all that I needed was a root canal and a crown. I saved over $4,000!!!! No exaggerations. I've been waiting to write this review to make sure that everything was well done with my dental work. Surely, it was. When I turned down Lynn's dental plan for my tooth, she then suggested that we do a filling on a "cavity" that she failed to even mention after doing x-rays. X-rays at following dentistry indicated NO CAVITY. Another RED FLAG. I felt so betrayed leaving Lynn's office. Doctors and dentists tend to put patients in a position of powerlessness because we obviously know less than they do about something as particular as dental work. We put our health in the hands of people that we should trust. I truly believe that there are doctors out there that are trying to create more good than greed. Lynn is not on that list (IMO). When I confronted Lynn about the way that she was making me feel, all that she said was, "well, what else can I say other than that I'm sorry" in a very snarky tone. I don't like going to the dentist. In fact, I absolutely hate it! But my experience at Dr. Mojica's office wasn't what I expected. It was nothing like my previous dentist's office, and I walked out happy! My dentist before would jerk my head this way and that way, and I didn't like that. Dr. Mojica on the other hand, didn't do that. She was gentle and pretty much told me what was going on. For each step, she'd explain what she was doing or what she'd be doing next. As I was waiting for my x-rays, I had a chance to chat it up with the staff, and that was unexpected. At my previous dentist's office, people would just walk by and fake a smile, and then go back to what they were doing. I liked how her office staff acknowledged my presence and actually took the time to chit chat with me. It made me feel welcomed. And as lame as this may sound, I liked that they gave me a toothbrush and toothpaste on my way out. But I'm Asian and when you get free stuff, that's a bonus! read more

Just had my filling done today. Short and sweet. No pain at all. Dr. Mojica allowed the anesthetic to set in for a good fifteen minutes, and during the whole procedure, she let me know what she was doing to make me feel more at ease. When I had my cleaning two weeks prior, she gave me a very informative but not long-winded explanation of my dental health as well as her recommendations. She was also very gentle with the pick during cleaning. Being a doctor myself, I really appreciate her chairside manner and I think you will too! read more

Dr. Mojica is fantastic. She is professional and such a genuinely warm and wonderful person. I've been going to her ever since I moved up here 4 years ago and am so grateful I found her. I faithfully go every 6 months for a cleaning and enjoy myself each and every time. The one time she found a cavity, she fixed it so fast I couldn't believe it and it was in an awkward spot on the front side of the tooth but I've never had a problem with it. Her whole staff is incredibly friendly. The office is also decorated to soothe you while you're there with clouds painted on the ceiling so when you lie back, you can relax.
