I contacted Lisie, through a Groupon special for my son's 1st birthday pictures. My original…read moreappointment she canceled with very short notice but we were able to reschedule. The day of the actual session seem to go well although I felt pressured to buy more products besides the groupon special without yet having seen the pictures. When I received the gallery, I was not all that impressed with the pictures. They were good but not outstanding. To be honest the pictures I have gotten at Picture People were much better. I was somewhat disappointed as I felt if I was going to pay a much bigger premium I wished the pictures would have been better. Back in my hometown I have paid premium prices for great photography and unfortunately have not found that in Caught by a Flash. Soon after receiving the gallery my mother in law had a severe stroke and our lives were turned upside down. Although Lisie was able to extend the gallery, I could not dedicate time to ordering prints.In the end I decided just to order the 3 prints that were included in the groupon special and nothing more. I didn't feel that the prints were good enough to order any more and I didn't want to hurt Lisie's feelings by being honest. After ordering the included prints, Lisie emailed me back and said she would extend the gallery 1 more week. I was under the impression that this meant she would fulfill my groupon order and in addition extend the gallery. No where in her email did it state otherwise. A couple months went by and I contacted her about my order. I was told the gallery was closed and the pictures were not available.I was ok with that as I just wanted the groupon order. Well she told me she did not print those and the gallery was gone. I feel that she wanted me to spend more money and since I didn't she never fulfilled my order for which I had prepaid. I now have no pictures from my son's 1st birthdate & out the money I paid. Lesson learned, do not look for a quality photographer on groupon.

I moderated a panel last week and a panelist I was being introduced to said, "yes, the woman with the most amazing head shot." Yesterday morning we did our 5th(!) family mini session shoot with Stacey in a garden next to the Capitol. It's wonderful to get these beautiful shots of our children growing up -- and have some shots with me that I love that aren't selfies! Years ago Stacey took an iconic (among our family and friends) photo of my son sulking off to the left of the Washington monument when my husband and I were were standing to the right smiling while pregnant with our daughter.
