Hello, My name is Michele, I am from Mexico and I am a Sol Schools' student and I wanna tell you…read moreabout experience. Sol Schools (Calgary) is a great option to learn English, it is a huge opportunity to socialize and speak English at the same time. The education program is pretty cool, because the teachers are always taking care of your pronunciation and grammar, and with this you will improve your english, the teacher are pretty good persons and they are always for you if you need it. Another awesome thing is that you are with a lot o people from different countries and you can learn from their countries and hang out with them (If you do that, of course you are going to practice your english and improve it) the next is, every week you are going to have different activities to do that Sol Schools is going to provide you. You can choose every of them of just one, it is up to you, some of them you have to pay (But it worth it) others you don't have to, for example: -They go to Banff (One of the most beautiful places in Canada) -They go to play Paintball, bowling, Ski, Snowboarding -They make games night, you can play board games with your classmates. and have so much fun. -Every Wednesday Sol School usually organize fun night going to any bar, or restaurant just for hang out with your friends and socialize. And like these examples that I gave you, you will can enjoy. In this school you have a lot of people that will help you and solve your doubts whenever you want. -Marina and William are our direct, their are gonna provide you what ever you need, or if you don't like something or makes you feel uncomfortable you can go with them. -Clayton is the activities coordinator, he will help you if you have problems with your host familyy he will help you to talk with them, or if you need information about transportation, museums, events what ever you want you can consult with him and he is goning to help you. For me, one of the most awesome thing is that the Sol School Calgary is really near from the downtown, so this is practically so cool.. You can walk trough the downtown and enjoy the museums and malls around it. Definitely Sol Schools is the best option for you, I just have three weeks here and I have had a lot of fun and my english has been improving to much. So... Don't think to much about it Sol Schools is super cool. SEE YOU SOON! ;)

Hi I'm Emilie I'm from France and I just arrived in this school one month ago and I can say that…read moreI'm already integrated. The teachers are really nice and patient with all the students, and propose a very complete program (pronunciation, accent, grammar, listening, writing, reading, oral comprehension, dialogues, debates, games...). In class, we are just a few number so we can improve quickly and in our rythm. Then, It's a little school so everybody knows everybody and we can create close and great relations. In this kind of school, you have many different nationalities mixed, that is very interesting because you have the possibility to discover different culture. The two directors Marina and Will take care of you and if you have any problems you can ask them, their door is always open! Clayton, the activities coordinator, is a really good person and has all the time good plans! You can be sure you'll have fun with him in Calgary! Everyday you have something to do (cinema, cook, shopping, climbing, paintball, ski, skate, hockey match, trip in Banff...). Sure this school is one of your pillars during your trip. This experience will be one of the best memories of my life. Now it's your turn!

They offer a variety of programs - from basic English language skills to programs specifically tailored to English proficiency examinations. As well, they are a fine institution for prospective ESL teachers to learn their craft. I should know because, I received my ESL accreditation there. I found the instruction I received to be professional and comprehensive - and fun for that matter. An added feature at Global Village are the free courses conducted by student teachers available to those in the community who perhaps lack the means to study full-time but still wish to enhance their English skills. That, in my opinion is a classic "win-win" scenario. And, for that reason, I'd have to say that if you want to enhance your English comprehension, then get down to Global Village.

After two years for my PR application I did another IELTS exam in this place (Global Village Calgary) and my total score was 6! This means that after two years living in an English language country my English got worse!!! For example my speaking was very good and I was thinking about 8/9 after the exam but they gave me a 6/9. I recommend people forget this place for IELTS exam.
