Amir, Adam, Francie, and the rest of the staff are not only excellent barbers but really nice people. So, I have mixed feelings about Park Ave Barber Shop. My barber was definitely diligent and…read morecareful. So my haircut was very neat, with very clean lines. The price was very reasonable, too ($15). So, I probably would have rated Park Ave Barber Shop much higher, if it hadn't been for two things. First, they used some sort of lotion-type substance instead of shaving cream when they used the straight razor. Normally, I wouldn't care about something like that, but I ended up with razor burn, and getting a little nicked up on the edges of the right side of my face. So, I guess I would suggest using regular shaving cream. Also, I feel like they took a little too much off when they were shaping up the lines around my forehead and sideburns. I feel like you should just take off the minimum necessary in order to get a clean, straight line; and no more. I might be back. I might not. We'll see.

The kid goes down for a nap and my wife green lit the hair cut. I got there 10 minutes early and they were able to take me a few minutes early which I appreciated. The guy who cut my hair was good. He was young looking but he did a great job. He did a lot of attention to detail with my beard and whipped out a straight razor to clean up my brow a bit. I thought the prices were affordable and the shop was clean. Added bonus for Rutgers students they have a discount which is always nice. In about 30 minutes I was transformed from possibly homeless to stylin. And located on George Street in New Brunswick is pretty central. Worth checking out if you need a hair cut.
