I texted and called the braider to communicate I was not happy with how the braids were looking. The lines were not straight and the braids were bumpy/uneven (possibly due to using too much weave). The braider reported in our phone call that my pictures were bad pictures and too dark to give an accurate depiction of her work. I disagreed with her, citing the lines are visible regardless of how dark or bright the pictures were (they were not dark). She advised to take a look at the end result in better lighting to see a better view of the braids. I, again, let her know we intend to finish the appt, but I am providing feedback that I do not like the look of the braids. Following the appt, my husband sent more pictures and eventually I saw them in person when they got home. The braids look just as they did from the pictures. The lines are NOT straight and the braids look like a beginner just learning the craft. My biggest issue is the lack of accountability. The owner/braider dismissed my feedback about the braids and the fact that she was 45 minutes late. I was also charged a $6+ service charge for using our debit card to pay. We paid via Zelle last time. She noted my husband is an adult and could have paid another way (we'll take that loss). But her response, rude. She noted "everyone charges a service charge for using cards". No apology. No attempt to rectify the concerns. Just dismissed their bad work. I came here once before and had decent service. Braids were nice, but could have been better. I was giving this salon another try and thought simple box braids can't be messed up. I was wrong. We won't be back. Neither will my sister and her daughter, who were also customers here (my referral source).

Her technique is unique. She made my hair feel lighter, textured, and beautifully shaped and layered that lasted for months. I cut my hair in an average of 6-8 months and her cut still made my hair look good for that long. Not many people have the ability to create cuts like that in my experience. So I am loyal to this lady right here!!! She is also such a down to earth person who is easy to talk to. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly, and noticed that the salon was very clean. Madeline was very patient with my daughter and provided helpful suggestions for her haircut. I could tell she was very attentive to her craft. While we were at the salon, there was a toddler having a haircut with another stylist, and I witnessed both of them being very kind and understanding of her needs.
