She was there to answer any questions I had (which often came via frantic email/texts), and she was really helpful when I was trying to decide things about decor, wedding day timeline, guest accommodations, etc. She was in constant communication with all of my vendors, and was always quick to respond via text or email when needed. My late husband, Ashley's father, had promised her the wedding of her dreams and she had, over time, created a vivid and richly-detailed vision of the event that Sarah 'magically' made real for her. I ran my own catering company for twelve years and planned my share of weddings; I am well aware that Sarah's graceful and seemingly effortless execution of the entire extravaganza was, in reality, the result of assiduous attention to detail, tireless preparation and contingency planning and a wonderful capacity for collaboration and communication. She juggled the often conflicting priorities of the bride, the site planners, the hotel event staff and literally dozens of other vendors, while subtly nudging them all toward a coherent team effort with charm and finesse. I know from professional experience how much hard work goes into making things look easy. Often, it's the little touches that leave lasting impressions and fond memories. In the final, hectic minutes before we left the house for the ceremony, it was discovered that one of the wedding party did not have his specially matched tie (all of the ties had been ordered months in advance and couldn't be replaced.) Sarah made a matching tie "materialize" out of thin air ; always "Be Prepared" for any eventuality. She had saved a spare. Moments later, as we awaited the arrival of the shuttle, she noticed that my son, who was perspiring freely in the 90 degree heat, was in need of tee shirt to protect his dress shirt, she raced off and bought him one. We had…read morea big wedding with 250 guests and I was anxious all the way up to the day of the wedding, but I was surprised by how much fun we ended up having at our wedding. I would say one big reason is because of Shirley who was there with us every step of the day. I knew I wanted a day of coordinators who are not only bilingual, but also know the Chinese wedding customs. We had many Chinese guests and family members who did not speak English, and this was the first wedding of parents from both sides. I wanted to make sure we have a good time, and our parents are also well taken care of since we will be too busy to tend to them. We had all our vendors booked before hiring Shirley so we booked the classic package. For this package, Shirley started working with us about 6 weeks before the wedding. She introduced herself to our vendors and made sure they had the itinerary before the wedding, attended zoom meeting with us when requested, and she was quick to respond to our requests and questions. Our wedding included elements from both Chinese and Western weddings, it was a 14-hour day including getting ready, gatecrashing, two tea ceremonies, photoshoots, a first look, ceremony, a quick first dance practice, receptions, and three dress changes (7a-11 pm)! With so much to do, we had a tight itinerary, and Shirley made sure the right people was at the right place at the right time so we are on schedule. She communicated with our wedding party on what's next on the itinerary, and guided our parents through the itinerary. Shirley did a mini rehearsal with our parents for the ceremony and reception introduction on the day, and made sure they were there to see our first look through the window without interrupting our own moments. We highly recommend Shirley to anyone who is looking for a wedding planner or day-of coordinator.

It went off literally without a hitch thanks to their hard work and attention to detail. They knew exactly what our plan was and worked continuously in the background to make sure that everything that needed to get done, got done. And Sheavonne has a great, relaxing demeanor that we greatly appreciated. She never put any additional stress on us, and we were able to spend our time and energy on enjoying our special day, which is exactly what we wanted. Angii kept the food area filled, the kitchen tidy & talked it up with my mom who no matter what we couldn't get her out of the kitchen :) When dessert time rolled around I was shocked, I haven't even thought or worried about cleaning up to get dessert ready. It was transformed into a fantasy world I could not have imagined. I complimented the parents of the party and they pointed to a woman across the dance floor. They told me that her name is Amy from Amy Winters Events. I have since hired Amy to plan my wedding. If Amy can create a fantasy for a 13 year old. I…read moreengaged Amy Winters Events last December for my son's Bar Mitzvah in September and she was supposed to help me along in the process and make my life planning a monumental event much easier. Unfortuneately that was not the case. She was impossible to work with and whatever I asked her to do she basically had little to no interest in helping me along. She was happy to take my money and promised that she would do anything and everything for the event. The contract read coordinate, design and execute affair. She did not coordinate, she certainly did not design and I guess she executed but was happy to leave early that evening and never even mention that she was going. I had no guidance, I did invitations, accessories, party favors, bags, labels,etc. I asked her for help with entertainment for the kids she told me to talk to the entertainment company(pure energy who is amazing). I had nothing but attitude for 8 months. I would have had more pleasure burning my money. For all you out there looking for a NYC/NJ based party planner this was not the best choice.
