Luxcious is quite simply the best upholstery shop in Vancouver. We used them to recover sofas 10 years ago and again this week. Their work is impeccable, the finish, fitting and stitching is absolutely perfect. On both occasions the sofas came back to us looking as they did when they were new (possibly better). This is a family run business and they take great pride in what they do. The son, Luc, deals mostly with the customers, while his mother and father do the magic in their onsite workshop. They are easy to deal with, and work with you to make sure you get the result you want (from choice of fabrics to the finished product). We had gone to a competing business for a quote on the window seat cushion we needed made for our home bar. When they saw that the fabric we wanted used was from a green velvet curtain (even with simple stitching and no backing) they refused to work with that type of fabric. Enter Luxcious Upholstery who were open on a Saturday (important for us) and were more than happy to work with the fabric. They even added piping for less than the quote we received from the competing business. A relatively short time later we now have our cushion (with remaining fabric) and could not be happier with how it turned out. A side note to my previous post...after having one cushion restuffed and being very please, we decided to do the remaining cushions. As before, couldn't be happier...done quickly and fairly priced. This will be my go to place for any further work. Regarding the bad review because they didn't know what cut velvet, chenille, etc. meant...who cares...this is not necessarily the place you will go for eclectic fabrics and expecting them to be up on the latest trends. They seem to keep a basic selection of fabrics and one shouldn't write them off based on that. They are an upholstery company and do a great job providing that service. No other upholstery company that I have ever used has had the type of fabrics I was seeking so I buy my material elsewhere! Had such a great experience here the other day. My wife and I walked in off the street with no appointment.. just an idea of getting a couple of bench cushions made for the cabin. All I had with me were the dimensions. After finishing with another client, Michele (with one 'L') helped us pick out a great durable fabric (kid & dog friendly) giving us a whole range of materials and price points to choose from. She was so informative about all the different aspects, from fabric to stitching, and never made us feel like we were being up sold. She even told us the names of their plants. Very disappointing. Poor fabric selection and very disorganized. The young salesman didn't know what I meant when I asked for vintage looking fabric in cut velvet, chenille or chintz. This little shop tucked away on Main St does a great job of reupholstering furniture and at a very reasonable cost. I got a large loveseat and chair both done in a relatively expensive fabric for about $1800 total. Can't beat that. The quality of the finished piece looks great too. It took only about 2 weeks to get the furniture finished, after receiving the fabric in. They have a great selection of fabrics too, and they were incredibly patient with me as I took fabric homes on loan to check color, and helped direct me to 'cat-resistant' fabrics. I am exceptionally pleased with the experience I had working with the staff at Luxcious Upholstery. I made several visits to look at fabric samples and take books home. Once the final decision was made everything was friendly and efficient. We even had to start over once I realized that one of the fabrics I chose was way over budget. The stuck the estimate they gave me as well. I was especially pleased at how pleasantly the young men who picked up and delivered my couch, chair, and ottoman were in spite of having to get these to and from my third floor apartment in a building with no elevators.
