I read about the great shampoo experience and was hoping for all the bells and whistles that go with it when I got my hair cut- I must have been the stylists last appointment. She dry cut it and flat ironed it sending me on my way. I asked if I was supposed to book the hc w/a shampoo as I thought they came with it. The owner gave me a discount since I didn't get what I should have. But the fact I left feeling no better and rushed I had emailed them and never heard anything back. I am here for the summers from Dallas, and I needed my roots colored and partial highlights done. I loved this experience. Kim 'Jonesy' was my colorist and she did an awesome job!! She was so professional and knowledgeable. She listened to me and gave me such a beautiful job. She also saw that my scalp and hair needed some TLC and treated that as well! (I spend a lot of time at the beach and it did!). She took the time to make sure all was covered and highlights were strategically placed. I just really enjoyed being there. Michelle is THE best stylist in the area. I've had great hair cuts and color by some excellent pros in NYC for over 30 years and have been searching for a decent stylist for 6 years here. Michelle's recent cut is the best I've had in a long, long time. She listened to what I was after (a medium-short, edgy, "wolf cut") and with the photos I brought for inspiration she executed perfectly! Michelle has both the skills and personality so critical in a good- no great, stylist. I love stying it and every time I do I feel fortunate to have a found a keeper. At first I was very happy. I came for a haircut last week and was content. Expensive but I was fine with it. But this is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. I referred my sister to go get her hair done there for prom. The lady she went to was Erin (jonesy) 10 out of 10 do not recommend, rude, unhelpful and hid in the back after wrecking her hair. My sister went in with blonde hair asking for brown, please tell me if the attached images look like brown to you. They forced her while sobbing to pay for her services. It is absolutely ridiculous that they cannot seem to tell the difference in colors and are forcing their clients to pay for a clearly incompetent service. Honestly I think she should be issued a refund but we both know the owner of the salon clearly will not. They offered a free fix with Gabby and she finally fixed it and we're happy with the new hair but she had pay for the haircut as well on top of yesterday. Honestly the service here has highly disappointed me, and I will never return here again nor will I refer anyone. If I don't hear back about reimbursements, I will be coming into the store tomorrow. Stay away!! Worst experience, twice! I gave them a second shot, had to recut my hair and tried to tell me I would need blonde highlights. I went in for a fix. Came out with basically the same problem. Still charged for the appointment! I stated many times, no pink/ purple tones, what do I get Pink tones and its Brown not Red!!! Darker than I wanted as well! As it was processing I told her it was too dark, she did not listen. They do not listen to you at All! Do what they want despite you voicing your wants and not wanting. Did not even take off the color on my face. No skill in styling at all, kept curling it when I stated I wanted it straight, and she curled it under again right after!! Do not waist your time and money! Aveda should pull their good name. So disappointed. read more

Absolutely the WORST experience EVER!! The lady that did my name was Hayley. Filled out the paper work at the front and it asked what i wanted. I wrote To go blonde and a hair cut. The lady stated that we wouldn't get to blonde today and i was ok with that. (I know The process, my hair was red) she didn't want to bleach it. She put a blonde color on my hair. She sectioned it into four. From root to about two or three inches out she put the color on. Once she got the whole head she processed to color the rest. She got back to the first section and she stops and tells me my head is bleeding. I've got a chemical burn. I asked Her what we should do and she ask me if she wiped it off if we could still keep going and I'm not a professional, i was Like well if we can i guess. She kept asking me if it was ok and i told Her it was hot. She kept going. She wanted to put more color on after we rinsed it but i told Her no i was In pain. She attempted to style my hair (which I'm curly girl and when i called The salon they told me they could do that) she had no idea what product to use. She used her hands to scrunch my hair and used a blow dryer which is NOT a curly girl method! So after i left I contacted The management who states she would not refund my money only allow another service. I told Her ok(against my better judgment) and i told Her since I'm so sore i wouldnt Do my hair for 4-6 months. My hair is fried now and it's very painful. She stated she had to call her boss and they told me if i didnt Come back in two weeks they could not help me. I'm an so hurt, so sore and i regret Going there. Hayley also told me she didn't want to do hair she wanted to own her own business so she "didn't have to work for people" like i said I would Not go here. EVER! read more

I really enjoyed my experience at the salon. It's very clean and the ambience is really inviting. Amy cut my hair and she was incredible. She knows exactly what she is doing and she made me look wonderful. I've always liked all of the Aveda products that are offered at the salon. They are high quality and really work well with my hair. They offer several other salon services that I intend to look into in the future. It's too bad they don't also do nails. I would love that. I asked for a slighter darker color than electric blue and I got denim pants dark wash. It looks like black with green and blue undertones. They first bleached my hair, as expected, and then put the blue dye in. After they washed it out it looked black. My hair was a very healthy long and thick dark brown color before and now it's long and thick with a mix of green, black, and blue. So they basically bleached my hair and killed it for nothing but a DARKER COLOR THAN MY NATURAL HAIR. I had Lindsey do my hair and she wasn't even there for most of the time. She made her assistants do it for her. She did have another client to deal with but after they were done she was still MIA. Great place for natural hair colors and cuts but NOT for anything else. read more

Unfortunately the past few times I've called, the front desk has not been friendly. I live in FWB and alternate the aveda here vs Navarre. I went in for the first time ever for a new color and saw Dee. She is amazing! My hair turned out wonderful and very similar to the picture I brought in. She was friendly and professional and was focused on getting my hair perfect for me. She took her time and when the color didn't come out how we wanted it the first time she had no problem trying it again. She pays attention to detail and listens to her clients. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who asked. Other than that, the salon was clean and the rest of the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Im only giving one star because I couldn't give zero. I bought my wife a facial, message, and $100 gift card for her hair. When my wife called to make an appointment the person who booked out was rude and acted elitist. Then, at the appointment, the stylist was horribly slow, inexperienced, and didn't give the asked for color or look. They charged $135 for the color and $25 for the cut. It was bush league at best. It took 4.5 hours for just the color and cut. They completely ruined my wife's birthday present. I left a message for a manager to call me back. Still waiting. I came in for a cut because it was an Aveda salon. I had a choice of two others near our vacation home. When I tried to get a cut during spring break, this salon was Not open. When I came back while here during Month of July, I had an experience with a pedicure and then a few foils and a cut. One person completed my pedicure and for the price it was not A good pedicure. The person doing it acted like she didn't want to do pedicures. My hair, was nothing like I wanted or requested. When I returned to Mount Pleasant, my regular stylist could not believe What color was created and used. Also the cut seemed like it was Done in haste. The people in our travel group that were referred for spa services also Felt like it was a "D " experience. The facials were excellent, but stylists were lacking tact. I'm not a young woman, I don't expect silence, but I preferred not to hear about multiple boyfriends, stylists being broke- which felt like they were trying to get a better tip. I bought my products at the other aveda salon nearby because I didn't feel like I wanted to spend any more of my money there. All of our family members coming for thanksgiving and Christmas will not be referred to this aveda salon. It is beautiful inside the salon and spa, however...customers should have their appointments on time, not 20 minutes late with my stylist in the back area. The front desk woman suggested my stylist, but she gave a bad referral. Check things out before investing time and more money on services. Christine Johns-K. This business is a disorganized mess! I would not entrust anyone working here with my hair... or anything else for that matter. I have been coming here on and off for 10 years... And it has gone downhill a little each year. Now it's a disaster. I believe they are recruiting stylists from the local elementary school. They screwed up my daughters hair last year; took her six months to grow it out. I've had appointments that I've booked for other services that either got canceled without my knowledge, or the employee didn't show up. I really don't understand how they are still in business. Use to go all the time when it was wabi Sabi. Always had a good stylist. Had my hair cut twice. was horrible will never go back. The receptionist was not friendly. I paid for a wash and cut. First off, the stylist did a horrible job washing my hair my scalp was literally dry. she only washed the bottom of my hair. I told her to cut my hair to the middle of my back. My hair is to my shoulders. Then she asked me if she only wanted me to cut the back.....What? Waste of money and time. Horrible! Not to mention the stylist was unfriendly. I sat in complete silence. I scheduled an appointment with Dee, who was very sweet. I originally came in for a gel polish removal and new polish, but Dee helped me with my options so ended up going with a Spa Manicure. The spa aspect was very nice, she spritzed an scent of my choosing and began with the hand soak and filing. After that I had a hand and arm salt scrub, followed by a clay application. She then started on my nails and actually stopped to redo one nail that she wasn't satisfied with, which was refreshing to see since that does not happen often in my experience with other salons. Dee by herself should have five stars. I'm keeping it at four, however, because I also wanted to book a facial in the coming week or so, and I wanted to know about the options that Aveda had for those with sensitive skin. Dee went to go speak with Leslie about it so that Leslie could provide more information for me (since she primarily does facials and knows the most about them), but Leslie just dismissed it and said "my client is here already ". That was so rude of her, and she lost out on a potential long time customer. Overall I'd say that the salon itself is a three star, just because it seems the customer service isn't a priority there (though Dee is in a different category altogether). I really wanted to find a place that did a great gel polish, which didn't happen here either. I'll probably keep searching for a salon that will give a gel polish that will last longer than a week, but I'd probably come back just to have a service by Dee again. read more
