Apparently 1 in 5 women over 25 living in Queensland will have a skin cancer at some point in their…read morelife. The statistic for men isn't crash hot either. This is why you should get yourself to a Skin Cancer clinic on a regular basis. The South Brisbane clinic has it's phone tied up all the time. Be patient and you'll eventually get through. They are quite busy, so you may have to wait up to a month to be seen by one of the doctors. As far as a medical clinic goes, it's the usual business. There is a stockpile of old, donated magazines that you can rifle through while you wait for your turn. I've never had to wait an excruciatingly long time here. It gets points for that. The appointment is business as usual as well. There's the questions about family history, how often you have skin check ups, and so on. Then they leave the room and give you some privacy to strip. (Standard procedure). Having someone get up close and personal with you, ogling you with a medical magnifying glass type gadget, I understand, can be odd, possibly even awkward. But they are nothing if not professional and very respectful. They even check places like the in between of your toes, the soles of your feet, your armpits, and your scalp. You feel certain that no mole has been missed by the end of their thorough inspection. What's also good is that the South Brisbane clinic bulk bills! Which means there is no excuse for not going to getting a skin check up. We live two inches from the sun guys, so we should arrange a visit at least every six months.

This place... Where do I start? Awful is somewhere to start. They lost my first booking. I…read morerebooked. Under strict instruction from the hospital I attended. Staff told me to come in and I'll be looked after. Dr Thet Aung refused to even read a letter from the hospital I had with me. Refused to help even after I booked replacement cover for work. Wouldn't read the letter from my OT. The receptionist was the one who told me he could assist with what I needed. When I questioned her why I was told to come then refused treatment, she was defensive and petulant. Dismissive, rude, the place is disgusting. Unclean. Their pathology chair was sticky last time I went! Steer clear and leave these guys to stress over manipulating the downtrodden who they so obviously take advantage of. Should be shut down. He literally asked me to go back to the emergency ward... For not an emergency.. In writing it was the hospital asking me to see him to not to clog up emergency! [Edit] and now I find similar reviews of Dr Thet Aung.... Why act like some sort of tough guy as a Dr???. Far from tough... Pathetic. An unfortunate exercise of obfuscation and arrogance. A poster child for why people don't visit doctors when they need to
