Parking is scarce, but it was a rainy day when I went which maybe worked in my favour and I was lucky enough to get a space in the undercover lot. I called the front desk around 2 pm asking for an ASAP appointment and was told that I could get in at 2:15 which was awesome. The office was clean and friendly. As a first time patient, I was asked by one of the friendly receptionist to fill out basic paperwork. I was seen by Tram Nguyen, this was at random since I didn't know any of the doctors. Tram was very sweet, helpful, and caring. I felt super comfortable the whole appointment. After my visit was done and prescriptions were given, it was time to pay. I'm new to the Australian way of "bulk billing" using your Medicare card. I will say I was very thrown off when I was told I owe $115 for my visit because it was considered a "long visit" as opposed to if I had a standard visit it would've cost me $75. I was a little mind blown by the price I paid and will be looking for a doctor that does 100% bulk billing for the future, but overall KPG did what I needed and my experience was pleasant.

I was really impressed with Martine at Invigorate Physio. Highly recommended if you're in Brisbane and looking for a health professional who gets the whole of you - not just the symptoms.

I'm not usually one to leave a review or recommendation, but Barefoot Physiotherapy is so…read moreoutstanding I could not go on without publicly praising them. I injured my ankle a few years ago playing touch and being a young student at the time decided to forgo seeking treatment. This was a huge mistake and over the years not only did my ankle never heal, but my body adjusted to compensate - which only caused more issues and pain. I decided to finally seek help and after trying two other physiotherapists nothing seemed to be working. Luckily for me, I stumbled across Barefoot online and based on their approach decided to give them a crack. During my first appointment, we did a very thorough overview of my specific injury, my whole body, my day-to-day experience and what I wanted to eventually achieve physically. I was pleasantly surprised at how in-depth this process was and how the results from this meeting alone drastically improved my injury. Following my appointment, I was assigned exercises that were practical, manageable and most importantly enjoyable. What's better was that were I to be under the weather or get bored, I could easily interchange or intensify my exercises. Over the next few months I saw my physiotherapist, Sal, many times. Every appointment I went to was reactive and based on progression. Depending on my adventures between appointments, my treatment and exercises were modified to ensure I saw and felt improvements with every visit. During busy weeks where I was unable to train as much as I would have liked, I never felt any guilt coming to see Sal because she understood that life is complex and I knew that between her expertise and confidence in me, we would be back on the horse in no time. For over a month now I've been using specialised training equipment Barefoot lent me, free of charge. By comparison, I know physio's that charge for tape! What's more, as my ankle improved I needed less and less appointments - a sign of true dedication to the patient. What has made Barefoot truly stand out however, is that I am treated as more than a simply customer. Sal was (and still is) incredibly attuned and sincerely dedicated to ensuring that I not only continue to improve my ankle's condition, but that I also live a genuinely good life. During my time here, Sal and the team at Barefoot have treated me like family. I always look forward to our appointments where I am not only expertly and professionally treated but enjoy meaningful conversation and a sharing of our experiences. Sal's outlook on life and problem-solving talents even helped me gain a new perspective regarding my own future pathway. I could continue this review with the many specific moments and features that make Barefoot Physiotherapy the virtuous establishment it is, but for the sake of anyone reading this I'll sum up by saying: they don't just treat the injury, they treat the person; and Barefoot has treated me very, very well. I'm off for a pain-free run (because I can do that now).

Hi, my name is Lani and I am a Google Diagnoser. Yep. I am on of *those* people. And this means…read morethat I try a lot of things to remedy issues. My latest quest? Acupuncture. I'd heard of the student clinic at Endeavour College and figured that at $15 for an hour session, it was the perfect way for me to dip my toes into the world of acupuncture and see if it was actually for me, and more importantly, if I noticed any results. I've had two sessions so far, and while I'd definitely consider it a work in progress, I am noticing an overall improvement in not only the primary issue I sought the treatment for (severe lower back pain) but in my total energy levels, attitude and a lasting effect of balance. I'm even noticing I'm eating less. The students are fully supervised and their supervisor comes into the sessions regularly to check that all is going well. I'm yet to feel in any way uneasy about the students that have practiced on me. Don't stress. I'm getting to what you all want to know. The needles? Honestly? I don't feel them. Sure you *know* they're sticking a needle in you but do you feel any pain? I'm told it is different for everyone but, I personally, haven't felt anything more than a quick prick of the skin. Once they are all in it actually feels like a nice current is washing over you. A calmness if you will. The sessions can take a little longer as they are student practitioners and they begin each session with a short Q&A and sign-off from their supervisor. For $15 though, I can't complain and I would whole-heartedly recommend to anyone wanting to either save a few quid or test it out without dropping a wad of cash.

The students that run clinic are professional and know their stuff, I'm currently in my third week for dietary analysis and the guy that is working with me is top notch, he explains things to me simply, and he doesn't let it get awkward even when he has to ask personal questions. The massages are not just the oily, waste of time massages that you get at a lot (A LOT!) of places in the city, they are actually about improving you physically, fixing pain or dealing with the neck problems from cramming at your desk all night. Though it's just as easy to buy much of the newsagent's goods downstairs at Woolies (where cheaper magazines, drinks, candies and general stationary is a quick travelator ride downstairs), a lot of people frequent this newsagency. There's usually a few people lingering around the right side of the counter, waiting to ask for a casket ticket or Scratchie; and then there's the magazine browsers standing obliviously in the aisle, meaning sometimes the store can be a little difficult to navigate. If you want to buy a card, regular magazine or candies at a reasonable price, there's no reason to come here. However, if you're somewhat artistic you might find this newsagent intriguing. There's an extensive range of stationary such as coloured cardboard and opaque contact paper (the adhesive paper used to cover schoolbooks). They didn't have opaque contact paper around when I was a kid, but it's awesome stuff: I bought several rolls of fire-engine red and black opaque contact paper here and turned an old dressing table into a funky 70s-style retro dresser. It basically works as liquid paint or wallpaper - not the flimsy stuff I remember from my childhood. Artists in the area should visit Paddington Newsagent before turning to more expensive art supply stores. There's an extensive range of artist's pencils and beautiful paper along one aisle; even when I'm not feeling like buying, I still enjoy browsing this section.
