Ok besides macaroons, when you're in France you have to get the crepes, right? I had seen some…read morecreperies in Toulouse and Toulon but never got a chance to check them out, so I was stoked when I found this place right by our hotel! At first, the lack of reviews/photos was a turn off. I'm here to fix that for any unsure American tourists who happen upon this beautiful part of the world. Immediately when I opened the 40 pg menu (I might be exaggerating but not by much), I knew I'd have to try a savory crepe, a dessert crepe and a breakfast crepe. I'm not totally unreasonable so I knew I couldn't do it all in one visit. I first ordered the Curry crepe. I'm not sure the exact name but it tasted like chicken curry with a bunch of mushrooms instead of chicken. I loved it. I ate as much as I possibly could but of course, couldn't finish it. How else can I eat a dessert crepe if I don't save room? ;-)
Next, I got the caramel apple dessert crepe. It was better than the curry one for obvious reasons. It was stuffed with sweet buttery apples, a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Freakin' yum!
On our last day in town, I finally went back for my breakfast crepe just before checking out. Hey, it was my last shot to get one in France. I ordered an American breakfast one. I'm not sure the name but it had bacon, 2 eggs over easy and cheese. I am not big on consuming raw egg whites, so I kinda ate around it. The bacon was also very lightly cooked, not how we do it in the US. Overall, I'm glad I went back to try it out. I didn't care for that one much but that was just a personal preference, not anything they did wrong.
The service here was good and it gets super busy on weekend afternoons. The seating is like 90% outdoor. They did have a canopy over the tables for shade. Why would you want to sit indoors in such an amazing place anyway?
