The cake itself was dry, the icing was sloppy, and the whole thing was crooked - all to the tune of over $300. When Wendy delivered the cake she mentioned that it had "shifted" in transit, but I was having my hair done at the time, so I was unable to get a look at it before she left - not that seeing it then why'd have fixed anything. Later she was tagged in a wedding photo of the cake the clearly showed the tilt, and when people pointed it out, she dismissed it as an optical illusion. She claimed that it only "looked" crooked because of mirrors flanking the cake, though she had earlier admitted to me that it had shifted. She then untagged her business from the photo so that it would not appear in her photos. I've never addressed the issue with her as I just assume not deal with the "optical illusion" defense that would only make me more bitter over the whole thing. However, I would always recommend that people go elsewhere for their cakes. In this case, I truthfully believe I would have been better served with grocery store cupcakes on a tiered display.

Every season they have a rotating latte menu and they never miss. I visited during Labor Day weekend, right before they close until spring. The pumpkin cream cold brew was great. Aside from baked goods, Shorebreak had sandwiches available and were also selling squares of Utica tomato pie. Service was friendly and quick. While I wish I could stop in for a coffee and a pastry in the dead of winter, I understand the limits of operating in a seasonal town. See you when the snow melts, Shorebreak!
