Less than a week after my appointment, both thumbs have chipped, and the two original chipped nails are worse off. And this is after using gloves to wash dishes. I wouldn't pay for the shellac here and I think I will be going to another salon from now on. I have yet to find a good manicure in Copenhagen...

I wish they had the beauty insider card here, as I used that quite a bit back in California. I also really liked that you were offered samples more to try out products before spending a ton of money on a product you weren't sure about. PLUS, a ton of the brands you can find in the American Sephora isn't available in the Danish Sephora, which is a complete downside. I also wish you could buy online from sephora.dk, i'd say I online shopped the most from Sephora in California, so I miss that option a ton here!

Plus, they carry a large range of brands that would otherwise be hard to find (for example, the awesome natural line from Korres). Sephora Copenhagen is located in the Illums department store. The girls who work there are all very sweet, but the store itself is missing some finer details compared to Sephora USA and Asia. The makeup testing stations aren't always stocked with rubbing alcohol (for sanitizing products), makeup remover, or tissues. The layout and product displays aren't quite as impressive as other Sephoras. And there seems to be simply less selection overall in terms of skincare and hair products. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great place to shop for makeup. If you haven't heard of their rewards program, it's worth checking out. The rewards themselves are mediocre, but the part I've always enjoyed is the little birthday gift Sephora offers every year.

Realizing my hair is in such bad damage, I decided to look for a place for haircut. The price of haircut for women cost 200 kr and 50 extra for hair wash. My hair was so tangled up but the hairdresser is patient enough to wash them and comb them. It was a quick cut, took less than 30 minutes for shampoo and the cut. I brought pictures to show him what I wanted, and I had 5cm cut off. I don't know how to define good haircut but I think I am satisfied with it. He is really nice, he told me he is from iraq and he was a refugee in here when Iraq was having their war. I see he has many customers, mostly male and Arab or Iraq. This place has wifi, so you can surf the net while you wait. Don't expect this is a place with fancy interior or coffee and massage. It is a place for major and fast haircut.

Both Hassan and Najah (the two stylists working the day I went in) were friendly, courteous, and very helpful in helping me get my hair to be the way I wanted it. Best of all, this place is very affordable, even for US standards. I spent around 180 kroner on a haircut and a beard trim. Once you enter the tiny shop, you get all the best of Britain smacked in your face. Union Jacks all over the place and it just looks like a classy British barbershop. After he did my hair, he went on to trim and shape my beard in an rather different way, freehanding it. I felt somewhat nervous at first, but he had everything under control and the end result was pretty darn good. He ended up styling my hair as well, but leaving just enough wax in it, so I could fix it myself, if I wanted to. I will definitely be going back in a few weeks to get my trim here.
