Driving in a sprinter van to NM and my DEF light came on. Needed a truck stop and found this gem! The guy at the counter (cashier name RBenally) was so extremely helpful. They had a **DEF pump**which is so easy to refill your def tank then the jug. It was a little over 15 dollars, they hold your ID and credit card at the register. The guy was so nice and moved the big rig out of the space because it was only at one pump. Bathrooms were clean and the guy was so nice. Huge smile and so helpful! Thank you!! read more

Right on the state line, this truck stop offers good food, clean restrooms and showers, and has a convenience store. I stopped in for a bite around dinnertime. The had a special on chili cheese fries for $4.99. I was sold. The order came out quickly. The fries were a nice golden brown smothered with chili sauce and topped with a generous amount of cheese. It really hit the spot. I don't pass by here often, but next time I will make it a point to stop. read more

This truck stop is not a bad establishment at all. It's very convenient since there is not another gas station for miles. If you need to stop, rest, fill up, eat, use the restroom or just relax go ahead and stop. Don't expect cheap fuel here, but it is cheaper than anywhere else on I-40 in NM. But the restaurant has GOOD FOOD. I'm not talking about the fried stuff, but the actual restaurant food with its zMexican/Native American vibes. I've eaten there a few times, but it was usually grab a burrito and go. Today I ordered the beef stew which included Indian fry bread. The stew was piping hot and delicious! I would have been happy just with the broth. And oh Lord, the frybread was crispy n chewy---YUM! On my way out to Phoenix I found myself with the dread urge to recycle beer (if you get my drift). I had just gotten past Gallup when the urge arose. What really attracted me was the giant rock a little down the road adjacent to the truck stop. Knowing I wanted to see said rock I also really needed the restroom so I got off the exit and parked. The place was fairly large. They offered fresh fried foods similar to what you'd find at an Allsups. Needless to say the place was fairly decent. About what you'd come to expect at a truck stop. The staff isn't really talkative but they'll acknowledge you should you need to ask for anything. I didn't stick around because I needed to be on my way so it was a short stay. The rock down the road is glorious! Lots of neat obviously fake staged animals above, but it was a nice view. Next time I'm passing through I'll stop in again. read more

Stopped by to get a bite to eat as grandchild was hungry. We sat down for about 10 minutes, no one came to our table . We asked at register if they were serving food, we were informed there were no wait staff who also run the cash register for the cafe. And would be a couple more hours before next shift wait person comes in. We picked up a couple sodas and had to go to the gas register to purchase. Would have been courteous to have put up a sign for no cafe service or inform us immediately instead of looking at us and laughing. read more

With public Laundromat, showers for truckers and a good Cafe. Its become a regular stop for me when driving across I-40. I totally recommend the Navajo Taco from the Cafe. Probably the most popular item on the menu. If you're on a long trip stock up on your snacks and drinks. Oh and clean restrooms are a plus. read more

Are you looking for a safe place to stop, shower, grab a bite to eat, do laundry, and be treated well by the staff? Too bad, because you will not find it at Speedy's in Lupton, Arizona. They have a small cafe with the usual items like breakfast, sandwiches, chicken, and your straight-from-the-box desserts. I wouldn't recommend anything. It was all pretty bad. Everything was from a can or had been defrosted and then nuked. They have a full-on laundromat in the back with plenty of washer and dryers. The larger washing machines were 4.25$ and the dryers were .25$ for 6 minutes. Total freaking rip-off. They had small boxes of detergent and fabric softener for 1$ and you can bigger bottles in the store. Showers are free if you get 100 gallons of fuel. Otherwise, the showers are 7.50/a person, if you need towels. 5$ if you bring your own. The water pressure is horrible and there was mildew and dirt everywhere within the shower. They do have a small deli and things like nachos, pickles, pre-made sandwiches, burritos and soup. They also have quite a selection of chips, candy, drinks, plastic ware, truck items, etc. The staff is rude, unkind, unprofessional and has no idea how to provide good customer service. I don't care how many overpriced amenities you offer, your truckstop sucks and I will not be back. Go the extra 17 miles to Gallup, NM. read more

I politely asked a guy if I had to purchase the coffee first because covid , haven't been here in a while . Some store had that service going on because of covid. They have no sign showing they were closed from 12-12:15 am I was waiting with some snacks and a lady just let me stand there didn't even acknowledge me. Until the end a lady walks from the back and tells me they were closed. I was standing there looking like an idiot with my hand full of goodies ( lost a sale) . They need to step there game up over priced crap hole. Holes in the parking lot , they lose business they don't care and have no respect for drivers . Probably the only thing keeping them open. They need hard working and nice employees. Instead of people working for a paycheck . How hard is it to clean and make hot coffee they act like that place is so busy on its busiest probably 10 people at once mostly truckers that want a hot meal and hot coffee with creamers and selection. So any front desk employee can clean and dust make fresh coffee and clean the bathrooms instead of looking like a wear house in the middle no where . Rearrange that place need some real management . If you can wait until you get to sky city don't go to dancing eagles over priced rude AF natives / they do t say think you . You pay like 8-10 for a sandwich sky city like 3-6 $ example. I stopped here to get diesel fuel when I saw the sign that said 215 a gallon. I put my card in it asked for my pass code and after I started fueling up the price jumped from 215 to 221 wtf? So I asked a worker about it and he said the 215 is only if you pay cash debit and credit is higher. Since I do not deal with liers and thieves I will not stop there again! read more

Every time I come here for food or gas when I don't want to go all the way into town, I am always encountering rude, dismissive, incompetent employees. There are always loud complaining about stuff pertaining to their job, gossiping behind the counter when there are customers at the register and then having the customers reach over the counter because they can't bag or at least put the items rung up back within the customer's reach. I try to avoid coming here as often as I can, I just hope customer service is improving. read more

bought gas here on June 21st. after about 3 hours finally made it to exit 16 in NM. Bad gas, had to have the filter, and fuel pump replaced, fuel tank flushed and fresh fuel put in. Was held up in Gallop NM. for 4 days. read more

Diesels cheap but the staff is extremely rude, every single time we have stopped here, cashiers always have an attitude. Half the time the network is down so no card transactions of any kind, cash only. I hate that they take a photo with there personal phone of the front and back of your drivers license when the network is down, yeah I get that they need it in case the transaction won't process but still, why can't they make a copy with a copy machine like any other business? Instead of having my id with my physical address on it on there phone and then being rude when I ask if they will delete it! I came here on a suggestion from a person at a nearby rest stop. I have always wanted to try fry bread & Indian tacos after a friend told me about it. I couldn't have the Indian taco (or as they call them in Arizona - Navajo tacos) since the beans make me gassy. I did get to try the fry bread. Insanely delish. Kind of tastes like a funnel cake. Love it! The truck stop is huge & has no A/C. There is a dine in area. Lots of options in terms of fried foods. The chili looked good, but again the beans in it make me gassy. I need to buy Beano so that I can at least try these foods without the resulting offending odor. Staff were very friendly. You can buy handmade Indian crafts here. Pretty cool & awesome! If you are a truck driver do not fuel your tanks here. I repeat DO NOT FUEL YOUR TANKS!!!! I stopped here and paid $500 to fill my tanks, once I was just about finished and topping it off I noticed the fuel didn't look how diesel normally should. I was sort of worried but assumed it's probably just low grade diesel. I paid with my comdata card and got a receipt with states diesel #2. I drive about 180 miles down the 40 and my truck stalled out. Couldn't get it to start. Sat there for 8 hrs until someone finally came to try and fix it. After 2 hours of the guy working on it, he said there was nothing he can do and I'd have to call someone else because it looks like my tanks were filled with gas. So I sat there for an additional 4 hrs until someone else came, they said it looked like it was gas as well and had to tow my truck. So I sat in a motel for 3 days not making any money on top of paying for a room, and freightliner confirmed today that the tanks were filled with GAS and because of that they were filled with metal shavings from the engine due to the damages caused my gas. Truck won't be ready for another week and is costing me 13,000$. My company put me in a rental today, so luckily I can be back on rd to make some money but hasn't been confirmed if I'm gonna end up paying for the rental or not. I'm already so far in the hole from stupid ass truck stop. If my company doesn't sue, I'm calling a lawyer! read more

Stopped here many times and never had a problem with the staff as others have commented. The breakfast is great, unfortunately i havent tried anything else as its always early when im thru this area. Service can get slow at times but thats because there is usually only one waitress trying to wait tables and run the register. Showers are descent. Yes it is $7.50 for shower but that beats $13 down the road at the TA and if you have your own towel its only $5. All in all this is a nice locally owned truck stop. read more

One of us had the Special, 10 oz. ham steak with 2 eggs, hash browns and toast for $8.99, and the other had a 1/2 pound Navajo burger with fries for $9-something. Both delicious! Pleasant service. I use to run the Fuel Express in Holbrook, AZ before TA bought it and I brought my Chili Recipe to Speedy's and showed the cooks how to make it. Great Reviews.
