Moin Moin und herzlich Willkommen in unserem kleinem Genusshandwerk. Bei uns wird noch alles mit Liebe, Herz und Hand hergestellt. Wir arbeiten mit lokalen Produzenten, Schlachtern, Landwirten und Lieferanten zusammen. Bei uns Bekommen Sie von morgens bis abends alles was das kulinarische Herz begehrt. Produktqualität ist unsere Philosophie und das schon seit über 75 Jahren, hier in Hörnum auf Sylt.

History

Established in 1942.

Die Bäckerei Lund wurde 1940 von Christine "Stina" und Willy Lund gegründet. Alles fing an in einer kleinen Baracke. Es wurde für die Brotversorgung der neu entstandenen Wehrmachtssiedlung gebacken. Der Bäckermeister Willy Lund wurde noch 1945 eingezogen und starb während der Gefangenschaft in Polen. "Stina" Lund führte die Bäckerei, unterstützt von einem Bäckermeister, unter schwersten Bedingungen allein weiter. Im Jahr 1948 konnte "Stina" Lund das Gebäude in der Rantumer Str. 1-3 erwerben, wo sich noch heute das Unternehmen befindet. Sie heiratete 1952 den Bäckermeister Willy Timm. Gemeinsam führten sie das Unternehmen erfolgreich weiter. Im Mai 1954 wurde eine kleine Cafestube eingerichtet und diese im Juli 1958 durch einen Anbau mit Garten erweitert. Mit den Jahren vergrößerte sich das Cafe, es kam ein Restaurant dazu und neben feinsten Konditoreiprodukten und hausgemachten Eisspezialitäten bietet die Lund'sche Küche seit Jahren frische Speisen... mehr dazu: www.lund-sylt.de

Draußen kann man schön im Garten sitzen, im Strandkorb oder auch normal am Tisch. Das Lindow ist eine gute Adresse wenn man mal eine Alternative zu Gosch oder der typischen Sylter Speisekarte sucht. Ein Beispiel: Leberkäse mit Spiegelei und Bratkartoffeln, Speckpfannkuchen, Roulade mit Klößen und Rotkohl Es stehen aber genauso Fisch, Fleisch und Nudelklassiker auf der sorgfältig zusammengestellten Karte. One of the many beach restaurants (shacks may be more descriptive) on the island. This one was…read morequite good and had a far less shi-shi vibe. Very straightforward and good food. The decor is artsy but envying. Service wasn't necessarily overly polite our going out of his way (older guy with the moustache) but he did his job and we can't complain. The location is a bit out there and parking is an issue so come by foot or bike if you can. Outdoor seating may be nicer than if you're forced to be inside as we were (it was cold). You can do far worse than this place on Sylt and the food itself was really good. If you can combine hitting the beach and then having a quick bite here, you will leave happy.
