I just had major back surgery and the minute I walked in, Rob walked me to a comfy chair and made sure I had everything I needed while I waited. I came in for a spa pedi because I can't reach my feet.... My tech Julia, BEST TECH EVER, made sure I was comfortable in the chair. Perfect water temp. Perfect scrubby scrub. Perfect massage!!! She did an outstanding job and obviously knew what she was doing. All the tension and stress on my body from training and daily life was released in one session. I have been a customer here for a couple years and have gotten several facials and massages with multiple employees which I have been very satisfied with, however it is getting harder and harder to deal with the owner who is usually the receptionist. If he answers the phone I usually hang up and call later hoping for someone else. He is rude, passive aggressive, and doesn't hesistate to give his opinion on things. He is not one to hear any negative feedback and doesn't like to admit when he is wrong which are all bad qualities especially for a business owner. I was a truly loyal customer for over 2 years. Over this course of time, I developed great relationships with the nail technicians. They are all super friendly, professional, and courteous. The owner's husband however, is rude, condescending, and sarcastic... while I had recognized these shortcomings in his exchanges with the mostly female staff, I experienced it first hand at my last and final appointment. I was scheduled for a 9:45 am appointment. The reminder call came the day before and, even the transcribed message proved that the receptionist said 9:45. I also had a reminder card that said 9:45. He mumbled something under his breath, completely ignored me, and commented to the receptionist about my being "late". When I saw my tech she said, I was getting nervous, I know you're always on time... I then went up to the counter to show the owner's husband my message and reminder card with the time of 9:45, and his very curt response was, "I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to her.." I responded, "well you were talking about me so I wanted to show you... " He then cut me off and repeated the same thing again, saying, "I said, I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to her". He spoke very slowly, as if to articulate the words so that I could understand him better. A customer who overheard his comment remarked and said, "I wouldn't come back here if he spoke to me like that...He is a very rude man". I felt terrible, but told my nail tech Nicole C who is amazing, that I would not be returning. I just can't give my business to a man who I have seen repeatedly diminish his staff, roll his eyes at customers, and offer no apology in his rude remark to me after I showed him evidence that it was his mistake, not mine. I have an appointment today at a neighboring spa. They charge 5 dollars less for a powder dip, and 7 dollars less for a French dip. They were super nice at the desk, and it is meticulously clean. Have only gone here for massage services which are fine so decided to get my nails done. My tech never came up to get me only after some wait time did I seek her out. She never spoke a word to me unless I started the conversation seemed like she didn't want to be there. It's been 4 days and my gel is chipping. Also and most important to me is the fact that she was sick and had no mask on. You are literally 3 feet away from me. I'm not looking to get someone's cold I'm sorry but if you're sick and work that close to clients you need to wear a mask and management should make it a requirement. Sadly disappointed. read more

This is a very quaint day spa in Center Moriches. I recently had a pre-natal/pregnancy massage. It was very good! They are very accommodating to the issues with pregnancy such as a huge belly I was 32 weeks at the time and their pillow for you to be able to lay down on your stomach is fantastic!!! Super comfortable. The massage covers head to toe! The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I wish the masseuse had spent a little more time on my feet and legs, especially since I said I suffered from a lot of sciatica pain. They are also extremely precise. If your service is for 60 minutes it is literally 60 minutes and they seem to rush the ending so they stay within the time frame. They have spa specials and this particular massage cost me $75. read more

Started our BFF week-end here on 6 July 2012 at the Luna Mesa Day Spa. We got stuck in some traffic in Riverhead near the Aquarium where we were had just checked in at the Hyatt. Even though we were a half hour late we were greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. Never was it mentioned about "us being late" (we did apologize), they were still very accomodating. This spa is so wonderful and such a hidden gem in the Center Moriches area. My husband treated my mother and I a few weeks ago with massages, facials and manicures and we had the best day ever. Everyone was super professional, attentive and friendly. I thought the spa felt super clean and I have to say, I just liked the vibe better than other more expensive spas I've been to on the Island. I had a facial in combination with a microdermabrasion. It was decent! However I was much more familiar with the PCA products than the the skin care girl! She was nice but did not do hardly do any extractions. It is a very controlled environment! The owners do not let the girls have product in their rooms they leave you there for a lil bit while they load up a basket with product that they use for your service under the owners watch! I was trying this place because my Skin care specialist is moving out of the country. I get a combination facial Microderm every 3 to 4 weeks religiously they charged me $190 for the service it was exactly 1 hour,they are very precise with their time...God for bid they go over or give you a little something extra! It is more of a specialty place to go for a wedding etc. etc. they could've had my business every month but the owner got a little loud with me when I spoke with him about the price if I was to come regularly I think $150 is plenty of money to spend on a one hour service especially if you go every 3 to 4 weeks he knew nothing about the facial and honestly again the girl who did my facial was very nice and ihave had a lot worse facials than that it was good it was OK but it was worth to me from experience and I have a lot of it $75 then Microderm machine is a diamond tip it is not medical grade and I as I said she hardly clean my skin it's almost like the owner scared her because I was getting a combination micro and facial. I was not happy with the price or his attitude. I will not be back! I had a pregnancy massage last night with Judy and it was HANDS DOWN the best pregnancy massage I have EVER had! I previously had one at East Wind and Luna Mesa BLEW East Wind out of the water. Highly Highly recommend for "Moms to be" to check out Luna Mesa and stay far away from East Wind- it's not all it's cracked up to be. Luna Mesa has the special pregnancy pillow so that you are able to lay on your stomach (which was a HUGE plus and want for me). First of all I got a certificate for a half hour massage but it only lasted 20 minutes, so I paid full price but didn't get the full time. THEN she wouldn't let me leave unless I tipped her (literally blocking the door) so I couldn't get out until I gave her MORE money. she also didn't come in right away. I called her three times before she came in to start the massage even though she said she was gonna be "right outside the door". Additionally, she kept stopping the massage to fix the music/sounds even though I told her it was fine. It did not matter to me that she couldn't get the radio to work, it bothered me that she kept trying to turn it back on even when I said it was fine, I liked the rain sounds better anyway. It was really not a good time. A massage is supposed to be relaxing & soothing but that was not. It's a scam. So my word of advice to y'all is don't go there. Worst $50 ever spent. The Services and pricing are in line with other day Spa's and I personally would never dream of asking a proprietor to cut his rates because I indicated I "may" return for more, there are discount situations with challenged communications that can accommodate someone looking for extra time and cut rate service, You wont find that here. I get what I pay for and feel the value is relative to the superior service. I come here for convenience and an exceptional experience and that is what I get each and every time. I have used Luna Mesa in the past and have been somewhat satisfied. However this most recent visit was disappointing. I decided to go with a multi-vitamin facial because that is what they had suggested. The woman working on me spent most of the time standing at the counter...not sure what she was doing. Then it came time for my extractions. I have had several facials in my life and know what this process entails. She did at most 3 on my nose and then was finished! I didn't say anything at the time because I was unsure if that particular facial even included them because she did so few. Then at the end she suggested many products and told me she wrote everything down that I needed. I got to my car and realized it didn't match what she had told me. I called back after the facial to clarify if I even received the correct paper and to see if the multi-vitamin facial did in fact include extractions. The woman at the front desk I spoke with was unable to answer my questions. She said the woman who worked on me would call me back the following day. I never heard back.
