Alex and his crew at Lumitone are directly responsible for causing the most "wow" moments at our wedding! Here's why: 1) They created a "growing-up montage" that was a work of technological genius. We showed it at our rehearsal dinner and our guests were left gasping "how did they DO that"? It was nothing like the cheesy slideshows that you saw at your best friend's bar mitzvah. 2) Alex and his team put together a "Same Day Edit" to show at our wedding reception. Let me break this one down for you. Alex and his assistant work their tails off to get detailed footage of the whole wedding day, and periodically run the footage up to their other assistant who is sitting somewhere quietly piecing it all together into a video. A video that looks like a professional movie trailer, that is then SHOWN to your guests that night! This is good for many "oohs and ahhs" and "how'd they DO that?"....not to mention some goose bump inducing moments when you get to sit with all of your guests and watch the most memorable moments of that day on the big screen, and set to music. 3) Alex is such a wedding-master, that he was the one who ended up gently guiding us through the timeline of our day! Our wedding coordinator was out to lunch and unavailable when she should've been helping us, and Alex didn't hesitate to cue us when we needed to move things along. In fact, he was the one who told us it was time to line up to walk down the aisle, that it was time to cut the cake, etc. Without his attention to our timeline and the needs of our guests, I'd probably still be sitting in the Bridal Suite waiting for our wedding coordinator to come get me. Alex and his team were so polite and professional. They managed to get every little detail and facial expression, while still making us feel like we were having private moments. I first heard about Lumitone when Eisen did my sister's Same Day Edit (SDE) on her wedding day. I was so in love with their work that I knew I had to get them for my wedding one day. Fast forward to 7 years later I hired Lumitone and it was the best decision ever! My husband and I could not be more thrilled and satisfied with their amazing work and service! I loved working with the Lumitone team, particularly Eisen and Alex - they did my entire wedding/engagement/save-the-date videography (which included a destination wedding in Hawaii (July 2011) so I can honestly say I've worked with them for quite some time. They are super laid-back and relaxing to work with, just a couple of "dudes" so if you have a clear direction of what you want, just tell it to them and they can be realistic with what is doable or not. It was perfect for my style and personality - I just wanted something easy and straightforward, fun and light and they help support that environment throughout filming of your event. I was extremely pleased with the experience throughout and the end result, the videos post-edits were incredible and take me back every time I watch them. They gave me a great fair price and here's what I got: - Creative Save-the-Date video which we sent out to all our friends. It was a quick day of filming to finish everything and was put together nicely. Eisen has some pretty creative ideas so encourage him to voice his suggestions. He can get pretty artistic, which I appreciated since I have no "vision" whatsoever. This was a quick 2-3 minute video and was really fun to capture, and a bit of a different way to announce your "save-the-date." - An engagement video shoot. Since our wedding was in scenic Hawaii, we flew Alex & Eisen over and a couple days before the wedding, we did a day of filming on the beach (which was later integrated into our final wedding video). It was gorgeous, lots of running around on pristine sand, blue waters and clear skies. - Wedding day filming: Alex & Eisen came to the house we rented during prep-time and got all the little details of everything (which was awesome because I got to see some funny clips of what was going on with the guys during the "outakes" section of our wedding video that I normally would never have seen since I was busy getting ready on the girls side of the house). They also set up some of the details and got the scenery, which obviously is nice because when you view your video later on, you can relive the moments and remember all the glorious details you put so much time and energy into finalizing. They had good command of the pace of the event and got all sorts of different angles but you hardly knew they were there, like video ninjas. - Same Day Edit. I can't believe they got everything together so quickly to show our guests at the end of the evening. It was a wonderful treat for our guests to watch and a perfect way to end the evening. - I paid extra to get the raw footage, which I understand is not something that they typically do, but I just wanted to have it in case there are any jeweled moments in there that I didn't catch. Lumitone was our wedding videographer in 2010 and they did a fabulous job! I did WEEKS of research for all of my wedding vendors because I was determined to only have the best for our big day and I originally fell in love with a video company from Canada (yes, Canada --see how extensive my research was?!) Unfortunately, they were wayyy out of our price range starting at $8K. I was bummed for a long time because I was sure that no one in our area would be able to measure up to what we wanted. I'd visited many video websites, met a bunch of videographers at bridal fairs, and was not happy with anyone... until... I found Alex at Lumitone. After seeing their portfolio, and reading their reviews, I knew that I'd found 'the one'. Their work is amazing and they have so many qualities that set them apart from other companies. Here are just a few of the reasons why we selected them: - Stunning Same-Day Edits (SDE's) which was a must for us - Videos shot in HD - Films that are more like cinematic 'stories' rather than the typical boring raw footage set to music - Reasonable price (we were able to make installments up to our wedding and even received a small discount for paying in cash) - Blu-Ray DVD's *which I forgot all about until we received our wedding videos Plus, they were great at dealing with all of my non-stop bridal requests. My wife and I had our wedding on 10/11/2008 and we're lucky to find Lumitone to be our wedding videographer. We ordered a package that contained two special, unique features that are usually not seen in other weddings. First is the wedding slideshow, which was done in a unique and animated fashion. Second is the same day edit feature, where there's actually someone who does editing while Alex and his crew taped us, and present a highlight reel of all the events that led up to our first dance. It was definitely amazing and you can tell the audience was impressed. Alex and his crew were very professional and you can tell that they know what they're doing because they have videotaped many weddings and know exactly what moments to capture. We used Alex and his crew when they were a small shop, just starting out in the wedding videography business. We liked his friendly, laid-back yet professional style, but it was the quality of the overall editing work that convinced us that hiring a videographer was the right choice for our wedding. Alex showed us several samples of different styles of videos to illustrate how flexible his team was in evoking the right mood, style, and pacing for a truly custom wedding video. We were not disappointed when we received our final product! First off, the highlight video had fantastic editing and had some pretty cool effects I have not seen from any other videographer (check out the website for examples). The actual video itself was just the right length and captured a lot that we didn't see in our professional photographs or in person on the big day. The ceremony is recorded in full from a few different angles and all of the main elements are there including shots taken while we're posing for photographs as well as a few specific moments that Alex and his team captured for video exclusively. What was fun is that while it was difficult to get photographs of everyone boogying on the dance floor (low-light, outdoors), the dance "sequence" is my favorite part of the whole video! We had a lot of fun and the music that Alex mixed in was perfect! We're not big sentimental saps, but even the hubby and I enjoy breaking out the wedding video every once in awhile to reminisce. When we were researching, we looked at some of the most expensive and (we therefore assumed) top-notch wedding videographers in the Bay Area: Weddings on Film, Alexa Lee, Thomas Hughes, etc. Not only do we think we got an excellent value in going with Lumitone, but we're also convinced we got a video that really reflected our style for our special day. Another bonus, Alex shoots everything in hi-def, so even though our wedding was 2 years ago, he just sent us copies of our wedding DVD on Blu-Ray! Where do I even start? As my now husband and I started our wedding planning, a videographer wasn't even an idea. Why? Umm... there's something called a budget, which we I knew we had to stick to. Anyway, I decided to do some research on my own and I came across Lumitone. As I watched many videos on their blog, I started contemplating how I'd convince my husband on hiring Lumitone. It wasn't too tough. Alex was willing to get on the phone with him to chat. And I started showing him videos as well. Well... he agreed! So, instead of having the traditional lion dancing at our wedding - we had a sde instead! The end result was FABULOUS! Pricing... it may be a bit much to most couples, but please... if your wedding is important... capture the day. If it helps, you pay 1/3 at a time... so it's not too bad. There was one hiccup... Alex called me a few days before the wedding, asking me if it'd be ok if we didn't have a sde. He offered to credit me instead. I got upset and started asking him why... etc. I told him we had gotten rid of our lion dancing, just so we could have the sde. Alex explained the situation and told me one of the guys got into a pretty bad accident so, he wouldn't be able to work for awhile. (They had my wedding and another wedding to shoot the same day.) Alex said the other bride wouldn't budge, but then again - why would I? But of course, after hearing what had happened - I tried coming up with solutions that'd work for both Alex and myself. I ended up being ok with 2 cameramen (which 1 was an editor). I ended up getting the better crew, a nice credit, and I'm so grateful for that. You can totally tell if you were to compare the sde's, that mine turned out perfect. :) Fast forward to the day of the wedding... Eisen and his partner got to our first location on time and they started right away. And the cool part... Eisen, like my husband and I, is also a huge Giants fan! (Congrats to our 2012 WS Champs!) I swear they had just as much fun as we did during our photo shoot after the ceremony. :) The wedding them... Let's Go Giants! I never considered having a videographer for my wedding until my friend showed me her video montage from Lumitone Productions. Needless to say, I was convinced I had to hire Alex. I then had to convince my fiance (now husband) about hiring a videographer (we were on a fairly tight budget) and after he saw more clips of Alex Tomek's work, he agreed that we should book him. No disappointments, no regrets. In fact, every step of the way I was thankful we found him through my friend! Unlike some of my other wedding vendors, he was always prompt with his emails, was on time to our scheduled appointments (or let us know ahead of time if he had to cancel) and arrived early on our wedding day. He's friendly yet courteous and professional. The work? Incredible. Alex is a great wedding videographer not just for his talent with the camera, but with his uncanny ability to capture the little moments that other people might miss. My husband and I hired Lumitone as our videographers for our September 2014 wedding. It was one of the best decisions we made in regards to hiring wedding vendors. We got the basic wedding package (8 hour coverage + 2 videographers) and we added an extra hour coverage and the same-day-edit video. At first we were hesitant to add the same-day-edit video due to the extra cost and trying to stay within our budget, but Alex sold me on getting the same-day-edit. He said that was their claim to fame and what Lumitone was known for. He said my guests will be so entertained and it will be the talk of the night. Also, it will probably be the only memories (besides guests photos) to share with other friends and families soon after the wedding. He was right and we were so glad to have added on the same-day-edit package. So, if you are debating whether or not you think it is worth it, I would say just get it! Fast forward 5 months later, Eisen e-mailed us to arrange a meeting to preview our wedding video (~24 min, not including speeches) at the new studio in Burlingame. We loved the preview even though a few minor touch ups were needed. He wanted to get our feedback and see if we wanted to make any changes. We loved everything he put together for us and it was arranged so smoothly that we really didn't have any suggestions for change. If there were more stars to give - I'd give more! All I can say is Incredible. BRIDES - there is NOTHING on the market at this price that gives you the amazing work they do - they are EXTREMELY undervalued. As other reviewers have said - they are not videographers - they create cinematic magic! When I started planning my wedding, I knew that I'd spend the major portion of my budget (aside from catering) on the photography and videography because that's what you have left after the cake is gone, the dancing is done and the guests have left. I found lumitone on a random search online and their work blew me away. We weren't initially going to do the same day edit but our DJ metioned a wedding he went to with it and we decided to go with it and we were so glad we did. Of all the things that happened that night, our guests couldn't stop talking about the growing up slide show and most importantly the same day edit video. We surprised our guests with that and my future step-father in law stood up at the end and demanded that the person that made it come out and take a bow! They were blown away! Some of the comments we got were "It looked like a MTV video" - "It was like a mini-movie - so professional". It blew us away mostly because while we knew the videographer was there the whole day - we couldn't believe the AMAZING shots they got! I have probably watched the same day edit about 30x a day since the wedding last week! They were amazing professionals - even when I forgot I wanted something very special that my fiance loved. I didn't put it on my information sheet and my heart sank. I told my guy and he said 'the equipment is in the car - I'll go get it'. He could've said "you never told us" but instead he just ran and got the equipment so I could have that one element that I new my new husband wanted. Again, true professionals. I am an in-house event coordinator for a facility in downtown San Jose. Lumitone did a wedding the last Saturday in September and I was blown away with their work. I have seen many growing up montages but theirs was the best I have ever seen. Based on that I stayed at work longer to watch the Same Day Edit, which was amazing. My husband and I were so blessed to have Lumitone recommended to us; they did an outstanding job! Because he was away my mom and I were interviewing possible vendors together. Lumitone was the first and the ONLY; we knew immediately they were "the ones!" Alex and his staff are nice, professional, and amazingly talented. Watching their demo CD was like watching a professional short film. It brought tears to our eyes and it wasn't even my wedding! Alex was organized, punctual and kept me on track- poor guy was having to follow up with me so he could prepare our pictures and songs for the reception slide show. In addition to that they also did a same day edit for us. The crew actually follows and films you all before and during the ceremony, then, they put together a short highlight video to show at your reception! It was incredible and so much fun to see a quick recap of our special day as it all went so quickly. All of our guests oooh'd and awww'd, gushing about how wonderful it was. Alex is meticulous and dedicated to making the client happy. They have great customer service as was proven to me upon our initial review of the video. I am EXTREMELY picky and chose a song myself to be added to the film of the ceremony. When I watched the video it was great, but the song just wasn't quite right. I felt horrible telling Alex I had made a mistake but he did not object at all! He simply said no problem and asked if there was anything else I wanted before proceeding to redo the entire section with my other song!! Customer service is truly his priority and we genuinely appreciate it. We are so happy with our videos and cannot thank them enough for capturing the most important event of our lives. I hired Alex as my videographer for my wedding and even though the video was delayed it was definetely worth the wait! In one word: AMAZING!!!!!! Its unlike any wedding video I have ever seen. Like most couples, we hemmed and hawed over the extra cost of adding video capture to our wedding day. We are so glad we did, and so glad that we found Alex and the Lumitone team to work with. The SDE they produced was the highlight of our night, and we've probably watched it 50 times as we reminisce. Alex is very attentive to producing a product that - if you tell them exactly what you want - will turn out exactly the way you want it to. My husband and I got married last November and we hired Lumitone as our photographers and videographers. The combo package was priced well below other companies (engagement photos were included). Alex, Eisen and team were extremely easy to work with - they were eager to hear what we liked and didn't like in terms of photos and were happy to listen. I sent Alex a long list of links to some of my favorite wedding photos a few days before the wedding and he did his best to recreate them for our big day. He even entertained our on-the-fly "hey can we do this?" requests on our wedding day. They made us feel relaxed, comfortable and showed us a few shots along they way (which were all amazing) making us THAT much more excited to have them shooting our wedding. As a few others have said, the team is pretty slow to return finished products - you won't be getting any sneak peaks the day after like many companies often offer. For us, we were fine waiting because the end results were so incredible and exactly what we were looking for. We received over 1500 photos of our wedding day, over 200 engagement photos, and a 15+ minute video (longer if you count the speeches) for an amazing deal. My husband and I hired Alex and his partner Eisen for our wedding in April this year. I really appreciated the fact that Alex did not try to do more or less than exactly what I wanted. He listened, asked and answered questions about the wedding logistics, then assigned Eisen to be our videographer. On our big day, Eisen showed up on time. Throughout the entire day he captured every single moment without being intrusive at all! After the wedding was over, Alex took care of the editing and created a 3 min highlight video for us. Over the course of many email exchanges Alex stayed patient, cooperative and went the extra mile to include all the changes I wanted in the video. When I was wedding planning, I took a poll of my married friends, and many said that one of the things they regretted was not having a videographer...so that decided it for us. We got a great feeling from Alex when we first met with him. He was really friendly, professional and made us feel very comfortable. He had us watch a few wedding video samples in a room set up pretty much like a living room. It was as if we were sitting at a friend's house watching a video. We were impressed by the quality as well as the various styles they had as options. The day of the wedding I was extremely impressed by how little I noticed they were around. One of my pet peeves at weddings is when you notice the videographers and photographers all over the place getting in the way of everything. But not the Lumitone crew. I seriously barely noticed they were around, and I'm sure most brides and grooms would be very appreciative of that. Alex was extremely patient and open and flexible with us during the editing phase when we had comments and changes, and the final product did not disappoint! We have watched it over and over again, and so has my family. It's just so wonderful and amazing to be able to relive the day. They captured such beautiful moments, and most importantly they are great at capturing candid moments which was one of the things I wanted most from my wedding pictures. The SDE they created for us during the day is spectacular, we have had guests begging us to be able to watch it again and now that it's posted, people still can't stop talking about it. I got married on September 27, 2015 so this review is long overdue. At the beginning of wedding planning, finding a reputable, high quality, but reasonably priced photographer/videographer was a stressful task for us due to budget constraints. It was proving to be very unlikely that we would find one. And, in all honesty, Lumitone was the last company we decided to contact before submitting to the fact that we'd only be able to have a photographer. And now we not only have wonderful photos, but we also have what's truly a cinematic highlight for us! All because of Eisen and his team! They are prompt, professional, responsive, and FUN to work with. It was an honor to have such talented people play an important role in our wedding.
