A few weeks ago, my husband and I found ourselves in a panic when a near-miss electrical fire…read morefollowed by a visit from the local fire department pushed us to have our electrical connections in our home re-evaluated. I posted to the local community Facebook page for a reliable electrician and Bill Stover of PGH Electrical Services was recommended numerous times. Bill is the independent owner and operator for PGH Electrical Services and is licensed and insured. I reviewed his Facebook page and found several positive reviews. I messaged Bill around 10pm the night of the fire department visit and he responded right away. He visited my house the very next day (a Saturday) at 9AM and looked through our house and evaluated the situation. He identified the problem of the overloaded circuit quickly and proposed a solution that day. We had one other electrician visit the house for the same proposed work, and he didn't suggest the options that Bill provided and was going to do more damage to our ceilings and walls than what Bill proposed. Bill's pricing was competitive from speaking to others who had recent electrical work completed. We knew we wanted Bill's expertise for the job! The only criticism I have for the business is that it can be hard to contact Bill regarding proposed work and getting some preliminary questions answered. I attribute that to his busy schedule and him always being on the go, though. Bill arrived on time on the scheduled start date for the work. He was careful to remove his shoes while walking through my home and wore boot covers over his shoes when necessary. He was friendly, professional, diligent, and very hard-working. He took his time to make sure he thoroughly understood the various circuit connections for each breaker before starting any new work. He thought outside the box when working to minimize any new holes that needed cut into the walls or the ceiling. He also replaced the drywall sections that were cut and patched the holes when he was done. He brought a vacuum and would sweep up any dust or debris that was created from running new wires in the walls. I appreciated that greatly since I have a small dog that I didn't want to step in the debris and I have asthma. Plus, no one wants dust and debris tracked through their home! Bill exceeded expectations when he installed a new light fixture where a plain lightbulb was located in place of the light that the firefighters had to pull out of the ceiling. He also checked out my garage and identified a faulty light switch that was sure to cause more issues down the road. He replaced both during his work and neither were part of the original scope of services. He also did it without additional charge. Bill completed his work as anticipated within the two-day timeframe, too. I would highly recommend Bill and PGH Electrical Services for all your household electrical needs. His quality of work exceeded expectations and I'm so happy that we chose him to fix our electrical problems during what was a very scary time for my husband and I.

He crawled in every crook and cranny of my attic looking for the issue. He finally found the issue in some poor wiring in my basement. He also checked both my electrical boxes from a recent renovation and fixed some errors from another electrician. Bill's dedication to his craft in order to prevent house fires makes me feel safer in my home. He took the additional time to make sure my home was back in order and everything was working the right way. He also charges a fair price for his time! Highly recommend!!

The first could not provide a clear course of action he would take to fix the problem. The 2nd discussed the action he would take and quoted me an outrageous amount of money. Knowing we had an active leak causing damage he justified the quote with scare tactics. We continued our search and by the grace of God found Nick who was able to come out the same day. He was clear in what he would do to correct the problem once and for all. He was extremely knowledgeable about old homes and guaranteed his work. The quote was fair. No scare tactics. No price gauging. I would highly recommend Cheddar Plumbing. Integrity, plumbing expertise with older homes in particular and very professional.

Thinking it wouldn't be anything too crazy, I looked online for a company with good reviews and found Cheddar's. The online appointment booking was very convenient, and I was able to book an appointment for first thing Monday morning. Nick was communicative prior to the appointment and Joe arrived promptly at the appointment time. Cheddar's was able to diagnose that it was a much larger problem than a small basement leak, involving needing part of the original stack replaced. Nick patiently walked me through what he thought the issue was, recommended a company to come in to reveal access to the pipes and dry out the leak area. The whole process was a pretty big deal, especially since it's the first time I had to deal with something like this. Nick was so transparent, patient in explaining everything, committed to helping me fix everything quickly, communicated between multiple parties, and just was so empathetic to the problem and disruption it caused, that he even ended up talking me off the ledge multiple times. This was way above and beyond in regards to customer service. After everything was able to be accessed Nick, Joe and team efficiently worked, in one day, to update everything that needed done, walked me through everything they did at the end and demonstrated there were no leaks. I'm just so thankful they were the company I called because they were able to confidently handle all the issues while truly understanding the plight of the homeowner. I plan to use them on any plumbing issues in the future and will recommend them to my friends and family. They were truly great to work with. Thanks Cheddar's Plumbing!

He was able to fit us into his schedule the same day he came out to evaluate the damage, and quickly and efficiently fixed the problem. He came and successfully snaked the sewer when others hadn't been able to in the past, which resolved the pooling water. He also removed our basement toilet and sink that had been partially causing the backups. He's great to work with but is a little challenging to schedule, since he is sometimes unable to give firm dates for when he'll return to do work. For our second repair he came out to assess damage on a Friday then said he could come back Monday or Tuesday, and showed up Tuesday. So, he's definitely reliable, but maybe not the best choice if you need work completed immediately and at a specific time. And he definitely is pretty pricy. However, we'll likely continue to use him for all our non-urgent plumbing needs since he gets the job done.
