When I back to see her and asked her to sign a document that she had diagnosed me with psoriasis for me to give to my job. (I was totally miserable.) She stated she could not sign it because it was federal and she would be audited. I asked her why if that was what was wrong me. She refused to sign it and instead did a biopsy of one of the spots. She still came me more prescriptions for psoriasis even through it was evident that was not the problem. The biopsy came back that I DID NOT HAVE PSORIASIS. THEY NEVER CALLED AND APOLOGIZED AND TRIED TO HELP ME. I did go to another doctor and they did blood work and figured out what was wrong. Do not waste your money on this doctor.

My problem is with the billing dept. My wife has needed an allergy shot every month for the last year. Before starting we were told that they could administer the shots there or we could probably do it ourselves if we felt confident doing so, and if they did it it would only be a minimal amount. That turned out not to be the case, as the doctor pointed out fine print in the RX that it needed to be done in a medical setting. That was fine until the first bill. We were charged $52 for 5 minutes of a nurses time. That is more than the co-pay to see the doctor for a visit. After some talking an arrangement was made to charge ONLY $30. But every time I have to argue with billing to remind them of that arrangement. This time my wife went alone and was charged $80, 30 for the nurse and 50 for a co-pay. And she never saw the doctor. Sadly, that is the last straw and we are through with this office. Is money needed so badly that the billing department has to rake patients over the coals to squeeze every possible dollar from them?

I realized I could also see a dermatologist for help, and possibly sooner. When I called on my referral, I was able to be scheduled for the very next morning. I got an email from Tara (who was wonderful btw) with thorough instruction, and paperwork to pre-fill out (which helps someone on 15 medications!) The office is beautiful, and so clean. Check in was a breeze, I literally waited under 5 minutes. I saw PA Nhung Pham, and she listened to me!! She didn't medically gaslight me (which is common) , she understood the problem fully, and gave me the best treatment plan I have ever had to help manage my symptoms. I was prescribed a new medication, they handled all the insurance, and she even suggested and got the forms ready, just in case, for a financial assistance program in case my insurance denied it. Most drs office do not take that on, they expect sick lay people to navigate it themselves. Every single person I came in contact with was friendly, helpful, and professional. I have actually never seen a drs office run more efficiently and smoothly. I really cannot say enough good things or convey how impressed I was with LAM DERMATOLOGY. During the visit, Dr. Lam interrupted and talked over me multiple times, which made it difficult to fully explain what I was experiencing. I also found the nurse's demeanor to be unwelcoming. She handled several phone calls regarding my care, and during those interactions she came across as short-tempered and unfriendly. I understand that medical offices are busy, and I respect that providers have demanding schedules. However, when patients are paying for professional medical care, they should feel listened to, respected, and valued not like they're being rushed through an appointment. Unfortunately, both my in person visit, and my phone interactions left me feeling more like a transaction than a patient.

The care instructions on paper were still not what all the young guy that helped finish closing told us. So next morning, I had questions. It was A Friday, and papers noted they only work shorter hours. I did call within the time showing for a Friday. Answering service said no one was in office. I was not happy at all with that response so was told they would contact someone. I was called back and my questions answered. So take notes for extra details, don't assume they will be on papers.

I have had skin cancers in the past and he found several pre cancerous spots on my face, arm and back. After treating the areas he asked me to return in a month for follow up. I will definitely be using Dr. Cornelison for my semi annual skin cancer screenings from now on. And I will be returning to him to have skin tags removed as well. Best of all he accepts my Medicare HMO which no Dermatologist in Lawton or surrounding area will do. His staff was also able to get me an appointment quickly instead of the months long wait other specialists had for new patients. You won't be disappointed with Dr. Cornelison.
