We had our Service Berry tree shaped and trimmed along with a few other trees. We wanted the tree…read moreshaped like an egg and that's exactly what they achieved. Every time I drive up to our house it makes me smile to see the beautiful shape. They were professional and knowledgeable with the whole process. I would highly recommend them!

THEY DID A HORRIBLE JOB!!!…read more I WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE ONE HUNDRED STARS!!! I needed my two trees trimmed by the power lines. I hired this company expecting a better job than the free service provided by the electric company. I should have saved my money and let the tree trimmers from the electric company butcher my trees! He came to my house approximately one week prior to ask what I wanted trimmed and to provide a quote. I explained what I wanted trimmed and what I specifically did not want cut. He cut and removed everything I specifically said not to. The trees use to shade my driveway and protect the vehicles from the summer sun. He removed most of those branches despite my saying not to. The tree in front of my home use to provide privacy when sitting on my front porch. He completely thinned out / removed all small branches leaving the truck and a few big branches on that tree up to approximately 20 feet and stopped. It is totally bare up to 20 feet then it looks like nothing else was touched. I specifically said not to remove any of those branches because they provided privacy. It looks like someone went wild cutting all branches less than 6 inch across as far as their ladder could reach and then quit. That tree looks absolutely HORRIBLE! Every time I exit my front door I have to look at the tree he butchered. It gives me a sickening feeling every time I look at it!!! To top it all off, he missed several branches that are over and/or extremely close to the power lines. Trimming the branches near the power lines was the main job. I am temporarily crippled from an auto accident and can barely walk. What was the point of having me walk through the yard for over a half an hour explaining what I wanted trimmed if he was going to ignore what I said and do it his way? Actually, my instructions were only 5 or 6 sentences for the two trees. The rest of the time was small talk about my injury and how he healed himself of a similar injury. How hard is it to remember 5 or 6 sentences? It is going to take a decade, or most likely multiple decades, for the trees to regrow and provide the privacy and shade that my home, front porch, and driveway use to have. His inability to follow simple instructions has definitely lowered my property value. I would have made out better if I found some drugged out junky in need of a fix and gave him a hit off of a crack pipe to cut every branch I pointed to.

Carter’s Tree Service - We had to climb this tree and piece it out because it was right next to the customers house

Carter’s Tree Service

This review is long overdue and it will be long. The bottom line... your call to Carter's Tree…read moreService will be answered! A year ago the Carters cut down some trees for me and it changed my life for the better. You see, for years tree limbs leaned on utility wires close to the house and limbs rested on the carport in the backyard. Every breezy, snowy or rainy day stressed my nerves. I had called arborists in the previous 2 years. Three of them never returned my call. That's typical for this town. The other one missed 2 appointments before showing up to say the trees are too close to the house. They'd have to subcontract a crane which would add $2800 (since they actually owned a crane maybe they just wanted to price themselves out of a job?). Regardless, they wouldn't do it. Meanwhile a friend was so pleased with Carter Tree Service that she recommended them many times but I thought if they were that good they must be out of my price range. Still, on a daily basis I was anxious every time I looked out the window. Will the wires snap? Will a tree fall on the house? So I called some arborists again. None responded but the trees were becoming a liability. They were growing taller and fuller every year. Now I was desperate, so regardless of what it may cost I had to call Carter Tree Service since no one else responded. Mike Carter called me back within the hour. He came the very next day and assessed the property. He knows his plant science and has various methods for addressing customer concerns. The cedars near the patio were almost as tall as my 3 story house. I figured I'd have to postpone work on the dying dogwood and cedars in the backyard for a few years. Mike wisely advised me that the huge dogwood would not survive another year. He gave me an affordable firm quote to cut down 9 trees. Now I had hope! His schedule was full so I'd have to wait about 3 months (until September). Just before the scheduled date, we had torrential rains. The dogwood split and landed on the vinyl shed. The shed's double doors popped off and the wall caved in. If only I had called sooner! Mike and his lovely partner showed up and got right to work. It was unbelievable how fast he cut down those huge trees beside the house. Even more fascinating was how quick and well they cleaned up. They took the debris to a chipper and truck parked on the street. After they finished with the patio trees they proceeded to the backyard. The friend who uses them was visiting and when we went out the front door we weren't sure the Carters had ever been parked there. There was not a splinter or hint of sawdust on the street. The patio walkway was swept clean. Mike made quick work of the backyard trees too. We added stump grinding and the cost for all of that work was still less than what the other company had "estimated" for just the 4 trees next to the house. Mike Carter also saved the carport and shed. That's right- he did that! When the Carters cut down your trees, it'll look like trees were never there. The best part about this operation is the people. They are blessed with positive attitudes. They treat you like family. . Btw they came from almost an hour away but they work in Berks county regularly. Do not hesitate to call Carter's Tree Service. You'll want to get on the calendar. If you have to save up for a few months, make the call now and plan for later. I sleep well knowing there won't be a fallen tree or downed wire in my future and it's all thanks to Carter's Tree Service.
