Smucker Gardens knows how to kick off fall in style! My first visit was for their 2025 Mum…read moreFestival, and let me tell you--it was everything I hoped for and then some. The Scene: Easy to find on GPS, well-signed from the road, and plenty of parking in the gravel lot. Their greenhouses are massive and overflowing with plants, and inside the main building you'll find home décor, gifts, and seasonal goodies galore. Prices lean a touch higher than some other local greenhouses, but given the location and setup, it felt fair. The Mum Festival: Perfectly organized. Food trucks up front (grab a bite first, wander later--smart!), vendor tents sprinkled throughout, live music filling the air, and kids' activities that looked like pure joy. It was a warm, sunny September Saturday--ideal fall fest weather. The Adventure: While mums and pumpkins were great for the vibe, my main goal was something a little...unexpected. The ad mentioned camel rides. Yes, CAMEL rides. At a mum fest. At 40 years old, I had never ridden a camel, and I wasn't about to miss my shot. I called ahead to confirm that the "kids activity" was indeed open to grown-ups, too. Fast forward to the fest--I see the sign: "Camel Rides $10 Per Person." Ten bucks for a once-in-a-Central-PA-lifetime adventure? SOLD. Nervous, excited, and slightly in disbelief, I climbed aboard. And it was everything I hoped it would be--totally worth the thrill (and the bragging rights). The Food: Yummy eats from food trucks and coffee from Brewboxx to keep the energy high. Perfect fuel for festival hopping. All in all: a fun, unique, and memorable event. Smucker Gardens is worth a visit on any regular day--but during Mum Fest? Add it to your fall bucket list.

We keep going back! Most recently they installed some new flat bluestones over top of a previously pea gravel patio which they installed a few years ago. In order to do it right, they needed to level out and build another layer on the previous stone retaining wall. There was no hassle or uncharge, and they completed everything ahead of schedule. Thanks to Dan, Seth, Mike and Tim!

Dan is a creative, caring, and communicative business owner. His team, led by Seth, was an absolute pleasure to work with - they did a truly fantastic job and were so nice and helpful throughout. After they were done, we had a small issue with drainage (because right after they laid down the patio, there were torrential downpours for days, not allowing our pavers to settle). I'm not kidding when I say within five minutes of emailing Dan on a Friday evening to let him know, he called us to say he and Seth were coming over right away to take a look. Because of continued bad weather, they had to come back a few times over the next few weeks to make sure everything was good. Yes, they made our patio a little slice of heaven, but we were actually the most impressed with their post-project attentiveness and customer-focused desire to make everything right. Now we have a perfect space and can't wait to enjoy it over the summer! Highly, highly recommend!

Brian Nolt, owner of Creative Touch, called us back the same day. He is extremely professional, experienced, and talented. He consistently returned our calls and emails in a very timely manner and was extremely patient while we made decisions about the scope of work, material choices, etc. In addition, Brian was a wealth of knowledge about different options for us to consider and made excellent recommendations. Our backyard was basically unusable because of a steep slope. Brian listened to our vision, pointed out potential issues, and we were thrilled with his final plan. We started working with him February 2021 - it took us a few months to finalize decisions, and Brian and his crew began the project in June 2021. The crew always showed up on time and worked extremely hard for a month to finish a bulk of the work. They paid extreme attention to detail and cleaned up the site every evening before they left. Nate, the project manager, was very willing to talk with us every day about the progress. We are ecstatic with the finished patio, retaining walls, walkways, fire pit, and man made rock and boulder steps. We now have an extremely beautiful and useable backyard oasis that we are enjoying tremendously. Brian and his crew also spread close to 70 cubic yards of mulch on the part of the slope were aren't able to mow. We purchased a swim spa and had to wait a year for it to be delivered. There were huge challenges with the spa itself but absolutely none with the installation Creative Touch performed. Unfortunately, the inferior swim spa company left us with a major issue during one of the coldest nights in January. We were overwhelmed and unsure of how to proceed. We called Brian and he immediately came over and helped us fix the issue. He was absolutely instrumental in helping us avoid having the entire spa and system freeze. We are forever grateful for his help. The overall look of our backyard is breathtaking and dramatic - our friends and family were in awe when they first saw our new space, especially since they remembered how unusable it used to be. We will enjoy our new space for years and years to come. Creative Touch may not be the cheapest, but you really do get what you pay for, and we definitely got a top notch product from Creative Touch.

I told Ken what I wanted and he said he could turn our property into the envy of the neighborhood. I was skeptical at first. I needed flowers and shrubs. The side and rear of the house were just ugly dirt and gravel. I wanted a side patio of pavers and rear walkway to cover up the dirt and gravel on the sides of the house. A walkway from the rear walkway to the rear deck. There was a shed with a cement walkway that had to be removed. This was no small task. They tore down the shed and cement walkway and cleared out and leveled out the rear yard. They had to remove over 20 yards of dirt and rocks. They had to move a small tree from the middle of the yard to the corner. They planted new flowers and shrubs with existing ones put down new sod . Then install all the hardscape. It was quite a task. When it finally was finished I couldn't believe it was the same property. Now when buyers come to see the house the first thing they look at is the beautiful new yard. Ken and his crew at Artistic Bamboo did an incredible job. I would highly recommend them for all your needs. Thanks Ken
