The massive oak had been overshadowing the magnolia for years, limiting its sunlight and airflow. Their crew carefully opened up the canopy while preserving the beauty and character of the oak. When they were finished, the canopy looked absolutely incredible--perfectly balanced and still the centerpiece of my property. Driving up to my home, it's the first thing you notice, and it honestly looks even more beautiful than before. Fast forward a few months, and I noticed several large dead limbs on the magnolia that never recovered. I assumed it was my responsibility since I had waited so long to call, and I fully expected to pay for another service visit. Instead, JJ Garcia Tree Service responded to my message almost immediately, came out promptly, and removed the dead limbs without hesitation. That level of customer service is incredibly rare today. We ended up doing all the trees, one big one, 4 smaller ones. They were told not to drive their rig and chipper in the backyard, somehow they decided that it would be OK and left big ruts in the backyard. I called them on it and they said they would send someone to fix them up, which they did, and just put a few wheelbarrels of dirt in the deepest ruts. After mowing and bouncing around over the ruts, I called them again and they said he would be out personally to take care of it on 27th of August, never heard another word. For sure I will think of them every time I have to deal with running over those ruts as I mow. Very unfortunate.

When I first decided to have a couple large (15-20ft, 41 year old) trees in my yard removed, I gathered referrals from neighbors and NextDoor. I contacted 4-5 companies over a week for quotes, knowing availability, professionalism, service, and cost would vary across companies. I was able to schedule the initial quote with R F Trees with ease via text and they were very flexible with my schedule, responsive, and very communicative in coordinating - From coordinating the time, messaging me when Tony was on his way, and when he arrived (2minutes early, at that!). The quote took 15min, and Tony provided a written quote as well as current dates his crew could be available. As a female homeowner, I dread getting estimates for projects the same way I do when I take my car into the dealer for service...However, Tony was professional, provided a fair, reasonable, and comprehensive quote, and was genuine throughout. I told Tony I was getting quotes and would revert within a couple days. Tony was the most professional of the companies I considered, from a really cool and professional business card, to the comprehensive written quote, to his open and consistent communication throughout the process. Other companies showed up unscheduled ringing my doorbell for quotes (which is not ideal, as I work from home and have conference calls/meetings most of the day), only provided verbal quotes, or weren't as communicative. Although R F Trees was not the lowest priced quote (and also not the most expensive), I've learned with all services and contractors to get multiple quotes, but to also vet out and consider all interactions pre-project to minimize headaches during/after. The day of service went smoothly and as expected. The crew showed up as scheduled and got to work. They were on time (also, 5-10min early, worth mentioning again, as that almost never happens with service providers!) and completed the project within the estimated timeframe. The crew was very mindful of windows/my home (the trees were in a tight space between structures with multiple branches hanging over my roof), other trees/plants, gates and fences, patio furniture, and decor.
