We were able to get an appt. for the next evening. She did love it, but the dress was not her size. However, their amazing seamstress was able to turn the back into a corset lace-up & it fit beautifully. My daughter was also a little concerned it was too full on the bottom, so she removed a layer of tulle. The total cost of the alterations to customize the dress as well as shorten it was reasonable. The shop is full of dresses to try, which does make it a bit tight on a busy day, but so are many other salons. We scheduled most of our appointments in the early evening and didn't have a problem. There were plenty of young women to help us who were very knowledgeable on current styles and kind but didn't pressure us to purchase. We never felt rushed like we did in other salons (some have a strict 30 min. appt. policy) and honestly, she was treated like a princess, and we had fun. It wasn't a chore for me. We made a total of 3 visits and the owner was also welcoming to us. He greeted us by name and made us feel like valued customers during the chaotic prom season, not just another number. I admit I was a little nervous as we'd made some major changes to the dress, but it came out absolutely perfect. This was her 2nd prom, so we'd been through this before and appreciate the great experience, which is why I'm taking the time to recommend Park Ave. South. I have referred people since and will be back for daughter #2.

She pulled everything in my size for me to try on. (Donna normally works at their main store Tuesdays and Thursdays I believe) I found a few pieces I liked and was able to score them during their first ever off-season sale (1 Piece-50%, 2 pieces-60%, and 3 or more 70% off!) Note: this is not a discount store but they ran a sale this weekend to make room for this summers collection! Ted, the owner of the store, rang me out and was extremely cordial and personable. I had an amazing experience here and I would highly recommend visiting if you are a Lilly lover in the area! What a wonderful stress free experience…read more Mini-Me wanted to come here on Wednesday to look at dresses, unfortunately neither of us stopped to check the hours, so we arrived at noon and napped in the car till 1pm when the shop opened. We didn't have an appointment so I wasn't sure how it was going to go, as the previous shop (that also has a discount shop- hint) that we walked into gave us total attitude and told us it would be a 45 min wait and they do not take appointments, so sure I would love to stand around (literally stand in a roped off lobby) and twiddle my thumbs for 45 minutes.. NAHT! Anyway, walked into Nicoles, and were instantly greeted with warm hellos and smiles! I let the Assistant know we were looking for prom dresses she smiled and said she would be near by, if we needed her. First the shop is not huge, but it isn't small, its decorated modestly but beautifully and with personal touches. As for the racks of dresses, the dresses are not separated by style but by colour- AND I personally love this. Sizes for trying on range from 2 to over 10 from what I could see, but Mini-Me is a size 0, so everything she tried on had to be clipped anyway. Mini-Me pulled about 10 dresses in different styles and colours and the owner Ms. Nicole, even suggested 2 dress styles that we had not come across, that were stunning. I did let her and our Assistant know our price point ahead of time ( which I think is very important so that there are no misunderstandings) and all the dresses fit well within this range. There are a few one of a kind dresses and we did settle on one dress and which we requested a dress invoice (did not order yet) to show "Bank of Dad" when he got home from work, but as we walked out, Mini-Me saw another dress and said, "I forgot about that dress". I just smiled and said okay, because, after all isn't this what having a daughter is all about? this is a wonderful experience I am sharing with my baby girl and I am going to revel in the joy of it all. With that said, we will be back next week to try on that particular dress and I am sure a few others, just in case. I can say without reservation, that we had a wonderful shopping experience at Nicoles Boutique, Ms. Nicole and her staff truly enjoy what they do and that speaks volumes when it comes to being a patron of a business.

I come from up North Jersey and moved to South Jersey about 8 years ago. Ive been searching for a seamstress as good as the one I had up north for all of my Alteration needs. Took me a while to find Mona but when I did, I found an even better Seamstress than I had hoped for. She has done so much work for me on one of the most important days of my life, my daughters Wedding Day! I purchased my daughters gown from "Off the Runway" and the dress my daughter and I fell in love with, needed most of the waistline, most of train reattached, it needed to be taken in many inches off the entire silhouette of the body, the shoulder straps taken in, and of course a bustle! I was nervous and wasn't sure if anyone could pull it off but Mona reassured me it would look brand new and sure enough, when the day came, the wedding dress fit my daughter like a glove and was absolutely flawless! I then sent my husbands Tux as well as my M.O.B Dress to her so she could work her magic and she didn't disappoint! As a Type A, (perfectionist) person myself, I can honestly say, what Mona does is nothing less than Perfection and I would trust her with any Big Event attire, Formal or otherwise that I may need in the future.

When I went back, I was not happy with the length, but she hurried me out and said it was perfect. She charged me a total of $730 for alterations and hemming. After trying it on a few times at home I was still not happy with it, I decided to get a second opinion. I brought it to another tailor in Brick, and they told me Mona ruined the dress. It was not until I went to this second tailor did I realize what a terrible job Mona did for a ton of money, $730. This was a $1500 dress. Mona cut the lace when she was not supposed to. The top of the dress was a botched job. Also, Mona did not take it in correctly around the hip area. Basically, the new tailor must totally re-do the dress again from start. I was so upset but the new tailor is going to do their best to fix it for me for a total of $250. When going back to Mona she was very unprofessional and nasty and would not listen to a word I said. She told me the new tailor was going to ruin the dress on me. Mona just yelled and screamed at me and kicked me out. I would never want anyone else to experience this. I was naive and did not know any better and I got screwed. Please be careful and do not go to Mona's Boutiques and Tailoring. Please do your research.

I paid $229 plus $120 on alterations for a discolored damaged dress and was left with nothing to wear two weeks before the wedding. Instead of helping to correct the problem Carmela insisted I must have found something I liked better. Be aware all of her merchandise is not first quality and her attitude is more disgracefu.
