Available for pickup at more than 500 locations in the Raleigh Durham area, the circulation runs at around 200,000 according to the website. News, arts, music, food, events, this paper is plugged in to what's happening locally. I can't recall where I found my copy but I did manage to enjoy it. Interesting news about the area, specifically the "death-positivity movement" was an amusing read. And they have a crossword. That's awesome. Letters to the editor, classifieds, and a guide to the best of the Triangle. I'm a fan! [Review 12277 overall, 2061 of 2019.]

They're independent, sure, but that doesn't mean everything they report on involves hemp. I like the Independent because it's thoroughly useful. There really isn't a page in the thing that doesn't have some sort of relevant report on what's going on around me, particularly in regards to concerts and other entertainment. Any time I've said in another review to keep your eye on something, this is a good tool for doing just that, they're extremely well connected. The one exception to this are their reviews, which I often take issue with... Unless you have strong past experience to go on, don't trust their opinions on movies and shows, chances are you'll disagree.

As far as local newspapers go I'm pretty devoted to Raleigh's News & Observer, but the Herald-Sun…read moreis a decent fallback. Chapel Hill isn't exactly a bustling metropolis, but the Herald-Sun seems like a newspaper from a much smaller town. There's a heavy focus on community happenings, plus quite a bit of local business/development news. As far as length goes it's not very substantial, especially considering that it focuses on news from Orange, Durham, Alamance, Person, Chatham, and Wake counties. I'd probably visit the Herald-Sun website more often if I didn't have to register to read the stories, but at least it's fairly easy to navigate. I can't say that I read the Herald-Sun often enough to have a favorite feature and I certainly wouldn't pay for a subscription, but I'll definitely pick it up and read it if I find one laying around.

I am a huge journal fan -- although I buy journals, journals, and more journals and never get around to using them all before buying even more. LOL. I probably need an intervention. Anyway, I enjoyed this location and would visit again if in the area.

They brought it new management for the Gulf region hanny the guy was a condescending brow beating ego maniac monster that had no business being in management. Threat tactics, yelling at training meetings, screaming in the phone .... Went through people (and very good loyal people) like water. Turned a great team into cut throat used car salesman or you will be replaced...That was a quote. Company had a great idea, but from the top, closed minds and egos to ruin a great thing. Repeat customers were very low do to (burn'em and turn'em tactics) Company culture and management totally outdated and abusive. Money was very good, but at what price do you sell your looking forward to work everyday life for good a pay check and abusive behavior.
