Gosh I hate to do it but I can't recommend this place. It saddens me because it's in Houma and I…read moreKNOW my Houma people know how to do crawfish but sadly it seems like they lost the recipe or something. Came in for the ten pound special a while back and I was just so disappointed. The crawfish were bland, the sausage link I ordered (extra $, but still counted towards the weight?...as in if you order the ten pound special they're taking crawfish out to make the sausage, which you paid extra for, part of the ten pounds) wasn't good sausage and also bland. Like what is going on here? Hopefully I went on a bad day but it's Houma guys. There's another crawfish place every where you look. And this one won't get a second chance from me.

The young man behind the counter suggested eating them in a park nearby and took time to give me directions to the park. He said I would not be disappointed. While we talked several others came in for the crawfish. I figured I'd try them out. The young man set me up, extra napkins a box for my shells drinks corn potatoes and sausage. He was right they were delicious and inexpensive. 5 pounds for $24 a deal even for around here.

Fun little market on the side of the road - we'd passed by the signs advertising "Hot Cracklins"…read moreand we had to make a stop. Lots of meats in the freezer section - we picked up stuffed pork chops and alligator patties. As we were checking out they just loaded up some fresh pork cracklins and we got a cup of those. So good! It's heavily seasoned so if you can't have or don't like salt, maybe see if they have any unseasoned. We also tried the gator balls - not my fave (tasted like maybe there was crawfish or crab mixed in) but ok.

I've stopped by this place many times but only gotten things out of the hot box. They have very…read moregood choices of anything you can think of in their hot box, I'm a huge fan of that alone. There's a bunch of fresh fruit and vegetables for sale as well, and some nice decor for the home and all. Just looking for a snack, a real bite to eat, fresh produce for the house, this is a good spot for sure. I finally decided to try some of their real food so I called in a shrimp poboy and fries. I must say the shrimp poboy is definitely up there with the best I've ever had. They had a great amount of mayo, and the lettuce and tomato were fresh from a garden you can tell which made the sandwich much better than going to a chain restaurant or something of that sort. Poboy is pretty big with plenty of shrimp, fried perfectly, great bread selection too. Now the fries...the saltiest fries I've ever had in my life. You can zoom in on the picture and count every grain of salt on each French fry. I love salty foods but I couldn't even handle these fries. Otherwise, this would've been a perfect 10/10 meal. It was $21 with a large fountain drink. I will definitely be back for more food.
