No where does it say the "spaghetti" they serve is only Angel hair pasta. I can't stand Angel hair. It's mushy and gross. The pictures they have online and on DoorDash show regular spaghetti. We ordered from here last night and was very disappointed. Online we ordered a deep dish, they called quickly to inform us that it was out of stock and did we want something else. We ended up getting 2 medium pizzas which they did give us a discount on. The one pizza has supposed to have Italian beef, I had to search for the very few pieces they put on it. We ordered the wings, the sauce was good but the wings breading was mushy like they weren't fried or baked enough. I ordered the cheesy garlic bread and included pictures of what it showed online and what we got. We paid for marinara sauce and blue cheese but didn't get it, and no one answered when I called because they closed at 9:30, and our pizza was delivered around 9:35. We moved from Plainfield over a year ago and still order take out from Luigi's whenever we're back in town. It never disappoints! The sauce is brilliant and is packed with savory flavor and the crust is always perfect with just the right amount of texture & crisp edges. We really enjoyed our dinner at Luigis. The pizza was really good. The crust could have been a little crispier but next time we will ask for well done. We also enjoyed our appetizer of fried ravioli. The marinara sauce was good too. My son ordered a hamburger he liked which looked to be hand patted and pretty good size for a kids burger. My other son ordered ravioli from the kids menu which was stuffed with cheese and reminded me of a stuffed shell when i tried it. I dont think you can go wrong here. I've always been a huge Luigi's fan since they opened. I knew it was for sale a long time and was worried any pizza could be my last. Since the new owners took over the pizza has still been amazing and they always seem super nice on the phone and their delivery people are also always friendly. God there are a lot of complainers about groupons & pricing.! If its too much go down Rt 30 & go to Pizza Hut!! Luigis got its press from Chicagos Best on CH-9. It does have good pizza & pasta there is no arguing that. They are also very pricey. Having said that I feel they could improve there menu a bit in regards to specialty pizza selections. They are a bit full of themselves and could also improve on their customer service & turn down the snobbery. I feel for the money go to Armand's on Rt 59 which is 5 min drive (W) of here. This place exceeded expectations and then some! My family (household of 5) has begun this weekly tradition of randomizing a type of food we are going to order from and tonight my 16 year old's vote for pizza won. We have been trying to order local recently in light of the pandemic and all and she told us she wanted to try this place called "Luigi's". Not going to lie, I was a little hesitant purely off the fact we live very close to it but hadn't heard of it but I was willing to give it a try as she had won after all. We ordered 2 pizzas and a side of garlic bread. Both pizzas were virtually gone needless to say by the end of dinner. It was delivered on time and hot. After moving into our home just over 3 years ago, I was super excited to live REALLY close to this pizza resturant, unfortunately my family and I couldn't be more disappointed. We ordered from here a few times thinking maybe they just had a bad cook that night.... So it seems that bad cook prepares food every time we go. After trying then out 5 times and having the food (excuse my words) suck every single time, we will never return. Advertising that they were on Chicago's best, I'm not sure how they did that... Good pizza but not mind blowing. Free garlic bread with Yelp check-in was delicious. The crust is more "pan" than "deep dish" -- deep dish to me normally suggests a thinner crust that has been baked in a deep pan to create a sort of pie crust filled with cheese, sauce, and toppings. Having said that, the crust was delicious (buttery and flavorful and not overly bready) and the sauce and cheese were good as well. The edge of the crust, where the cheese was browned, showed off the fact that the cheese was a mix of probably Romano and Parmesan in addition to mozzarella. The main part of the pizza had sauce on top of the cheese so it didn't brown, which is an interesting choice. I ordered in advance and the pizza was ready for me when I arrived, which was nice, but it wasn't as hot as it would be if it had come straight out of the oven, and it was room temperature by my third piece. The small deep dish was big enough for two or three people, which is good. It was also pretty expensive, which is bad. I'd say 3.5 stars is a reasonable average score for the restaurant considering the price, but since I got the free garlic bread (and good, attentive service) I will give it four. read more

The place was clean, but I didn't like the set-up in the restroom. I like to be able to use my paper towel from drying my hands to open the (dirty) door and then I throw away the towel. Seems they haven't gotten into the groove of being this busy - several patrons waiting asked "how long is the wait?" and the waitress had some trouble gauging how long it would take. Once we were seated, our waitress was polite and attentive. Another waitress who refilled out drinks gave my husband a dirty look when he asked for an "arnold palmer" to drink. She didn't know what it was and seemed irritated that she had to figure out this concoction. Food: I recommend the fried ravioli, best I've had. The deep dish pizza is good, but I expected more cheese being deep dish and all. Price is worth it. Other: It's quiet, it's relaxing, the decorations are modern and clean. Someone said something about an "odor" which I only noticed when we first walked in, seemed to come from an A/C vent. But it wasn't repulsive. Good spot for pizza in Plainfield. Worth the drive from immediate surrounding area (Plainfield, Shorewood, Joliet, Romeoville and south Naperville) but I wouldn't trek out from the city or anywhere more than 20 mins away. Look all. I am not a fan of deep dish at all. I am a huge fan of this deep dish. I'm from Berwyn the old days when all we had were pizza places to choose from on every corner. I grew up on pizza. This deep dish is really that good. I could be wrong but it seems the pizza deep dish is cooked first before the sauce is layered into the pizza. It isn't dried out when you get it like some places like to layer in the sauce then fire it in the oven. The crust.... buttery, soft, crunchy. The sauce. It is sweeter but it balances out the spice of sausage and pepperoni and the acid of the tomatoes. Really good. Coworker turned me onto this place and this is the 3rd time I've been here. This place has the makings of being "the" place for deep dish. This place is definitely the epitome of hole in the wall great food that Chicago is well known for even though we are miles from there. I would say you won't be disappointed but everyone has their own tastes and what they perceive is good or not. I will say, you have to try it. I believe there is a real passion behind what they are making here. It's a feeling. They care about what they're doing in the kitchen. It's not some chef trying to be the best all the time. It's about knowing what you like and sharing it with the world and hoping what you're producing is felt and shared by those you serve. I think Luigis has huge potential to be a very decent restaurant with table service but I feel if they did their quality would suffer. This was a great little local pizzeria. The atmosphere was quiet with Christmas tunes in the background to go along with the decorations. I started with their hot wings appetizer, very spicy, but their coating was crisp and crunchy with a tender inside. The house salad had very fresh crisp lettuce and a tasty vinaigrette served on the side. The entree was a small deep dish pizza that could of easily served two. I ordered pepperoni and sausage that was excellent but way too much for one. I would definitely return here when I'm back in Joliet. read more
