I went to this lounge yesterday and had a bit of a bumpy start but all in all it was a wonderful experience after landing in Munich from the US and transiting to my final destination to Italy.
The gentleman working the front entrance to the lounge was down right rude and not understanding or accommodating, turning my husband and I away. Claiming our plane tickets were "not sufficient to enter the lounge."
Even with my Lufthansa top tier flier status.
The gentleman didn't even bother escalating our issue to a manager and made us leave.
I was so angry and decided to march right back in and speak with the manager.
Turns out my instinct was correct!
My husband and I were in fact allowed entry into the lounge based on the fact we arrived on a International Business class flight ticket and I held frequent flyer status with Lufthansa.
I calmly explained my dismay to the manager for not being escalated to a manager, by the employee at the front entrance and that I certainly knew the drill as this was not my 1st time at a Lufthansa lounge (more like 20+ visit) - I always pay €25 for my husband to enter the lounge with me, unless the circumstances didn't call for a payment or the certain lounge accepted our American Express Platinum. Either way, I am always willing to pay and I made that clear to the manager.
Not only did the wonderful manager fix our issue swiftly and with such graciousness, she allowed us use of the Senator First Class Lounge for all the trouble we encountered.
