The Jet Surf boards themselves are really neat and I'm sure this sport will be even more popular in the next few years. Not only that but he is such a nice person and takes the time to check on you throughout your stay. If you are renting equipment, either motorized or not, he sincerely takes the time to ensure proper use for safety but not in a condescending way. My wife had never ridden a jet ski before and he spoke to her encouragingly and gave her instructions of what to do if she decided she wanted to drive. Which at first she was terrified of. No doubt, when we were out on the water she screamed "Ok, my turn...I want to drive!!" We had a great 4 days away from work, kids, and school while celebrating our Friday the 13th successful brain tumor removals (separate, but surgeries the same day different years). Angelo and Lazy Days were an excellent addition to rounding out our stay. We reserved two chairs for the days we were there, we kayaked, jet skied, and enjoyed our company when Angelo dropped in to ensure we were comfortable. I am critical and I work in customer service. If you don't know how to serve or have a problem with the words "server" or "service" you are in the wrong business. Angelo knows what it is to give a part of himself, in service, to enhance your time. And we reciprocated by thanking him and appreciating him, as you should. I have only experienced Lazy Days through Angelo's service but I would trust the company anywhere I go based on my experience. Thank you Angelo, sincerely. No only did you provide service, comfort, and instruction. You also created memories for us and we will never forget you. Best wishes to you in your endeavors our friend. Love.... Sincerely, Carlo and Elizabeth G.

I found the paddleboard rental offer online before I started on vacation, and I booked the rental online prior to my trip. I specifically booked my rental for two hours, starting at 9 am, thinking I would have enough time to learn, get my full two hours of paddleboarding done, and make a happy memory. Unfortunately, the shop didn't open until 9 a.m. and although I showed up at 8:45 a.m. thinking that I would be a bit early so I could learn a little bit before the start of the rental term, no one was on site until the owner of the shop pulled up after 9 am. She apologized, letting me know she couldn't find her keys and was running late because of that. Then, after I voiced my discontent with the tardiness, noting that I had booked a snorkeling trip to start exactly two hours later, she began to discuss how the lessons and rental are done by someone else and were out of her hands. She further described to me an argument that she and the person running the rental program had the night before, leading to the current tardiness of the instructor/rental coordinator. The rental coordinator finally showed up at about 9:10 a.m., making no apology or greeting me at all, but instead, heading straight back to the office. He then came out at about 9:15 a.m., and finally apologized for starting late, after which he grabbed some equipment, loaded it into a wagon, and directed me to follow him out the door and across the street to the dock, where the paddleboards were stored. From there, the paddleboarding experience wasn't bad. He went out onto the water with me and showed me the basics, and then left me to my own enjoyment. I was out on the water for about 45 minutes, before finally tiring in my legs due to the constant ebb and flow of the water. Overall, the experience wasn't a good one, and with the availability of many SUP rental locations throughout Destin, there's no reason to repeat this experience for anyone.

The price was extremely reasonable compared to other rental places. We called and set up a meeting time and location with Brett. It was apparent that he cared about our safety and level of enjoyment more than profit. We were able to reschedule later in the day when the wind and waves died down. He gave us a quick lesson and we were off into the Norregio bay ! The wind ended up picking up so we weren't able to go down the canal but we had an awesome time and Brett made the experience memorable and fun! Here's your Entrepreneurship/Business lesson for the day…read more... Location is one of the most important ingredients of business success, and Reef Beach Services and Rental and Under the Sea Ice Cream (seemingly one business) have a good location near a major public beach access. They advertise together and are in the same building, so I suspect it's the same owner. But I could be wrong. But a successful business must meet a real want/need too. And Reef Beach Services and Rental/Under the Sea Ice Cream seems to do that. They have most of the stuff you want and need for your idyllic beachin - burgers, hotdogs, ice cream, ice, boards, chairs, bikes, golf carts, and more. Horizontal diversification perhaps! Most other places in this area are more narrow in their range of offerings. For example, Big Daddy's is just bikes. Pecan Jack's is just sweets and ice cream. Yolo is just bikes and boards. Under the Sea Ice Cream/Reef Beach Rentals and Services has it all, and when you are trying to maximize your beach day, that matters. Meeting your potential customers where they are! It works!
