I found all my Thai ingredients I needed. They carry fresh rice noodles used in a lot of Thai noodle dish. Very small place but a good alternative to going to hmart for things you couldn't find. Parking is street parking and you are to back in. Makes it easy to load grocery and then get out. And once I got here, I realized Hong Kong supermarket is right next door for anything you can't find here.

East Asia Market on South 38th Street in Tacoma has plenty of parking and offers a good selection…read moreof Asian food products. The exterior and entrance could be more welcoming, though, and some items left on the floor make the store feel a little cluttered when you first walk in. One of the highlights is the meat section, where I usually find fresh cuts of meat, including oxtail and other items that can be difficult to find elsewhere. The vegetables are generally fresh, and there is also a decent selection of fresh seafood. They carry a good variety of Cambodian food products in glass jars, which is another plus if you are looking for specific ingredients. Service has been friendly when I've asked for help. However, the prices on some of the jarred products seem inconsistent, and when I asked a young employee about the price differences, she wasn't able to provide a clear answer. It would be helpful to have more consistent pricing and better product knowledge among staff. Overall, while the store could improve its organization and customer service in certain areas, I'll continue visiting because of its selection of specialty ingredients, fresh meat, vegetables, and seafood.

Really good selection especially in the seafood department. They had a pound of live clams for only…read more$4.00. Produce was a great price too, cucumbers 3 for a dollar and lemons 25 cents. Plus staff were very friendly. The negatives were two-fold first the whole store had a distinct old seafood smell, which makes sense because the entire meat department was just fish of all variety on ice. How ever the smell made me question if we would get sick, so despite the incredible prices I passed on the clams. The other negative was that things seemed like they had no time or reason to where they were placed. Like they had the clams in the seafood department, but then also had them in the frozen department. There was an isle that had a variety of cooking oils, next to spaghetti noodles, next to cookies. I don't mind that, but I'd do see how others who have left reviews could be confused.

It was my very first time ever visiting an H Mart, and wow--what an experience! This place is truly…read morean Asian food heaven. I felt like a kid in a toy store, completely amazed as I explored every aisle. Everything is thoughtfully organized and visually appealing, with products neatly arranged and prices clearly displayed, making it easy (and honestly way too fun) to shop. The variety here is incredible--I wasn't even planning to buy groceries, but somehow walked out spending $130 without a second thought! The selection is what really blew me away. From snacks and drinks to a wide range of meats and fresh, prepared foods, there's something for everyone. I was especially excited to find pork jowl (which I've struggled to find in stores even before moving to Washington), along with sashimi-grade fish and even live seafood. It truly felt like a food lover's wonderland. I managed to resist the bakery and beauty section near checkout this time--but only barely because my hands were full. I'll definitely be back for those on my next visit! H Mart is located in a plaza with several other Asian businesses, which made the whole experience feel even more authentic. Parking is plentiful, though it can get pretty packed and busy, so just be mindful of cars constantly coming and going. I only interacted briefly with the cashier, but she was kind and welcoming, and I really appreciated how neatly she packed my groceries. I don't live in Lakewood, but this trip was 100% worth it--and I will absolutely be coming back!

I don't think I could do it, but I do love me some Korean food. Downside of this location!? The single worst parking lot known to mankind, questionable neighborhood, and higher on the cost side. Otherwise, great!
