However, Cuzzo (also a tourist) who arrived a day earlier discovered this place and suggested we go here - so close to the hotel we were staying at and on the way to Jellystone's! The goal was to get brewskis, wine, sides, maybe some chips, and of course, tons of meat! There were 4 of us so we all split the list and went on our way. My homework is for side dishes and the proteins. Went to the back and found all the meat I needed. Score. Went to the deli and got a couple of side salads. The lady behind the counter (ugh, I can't remember her name!) was so friendly and welcoming and funny! It really shows she loves what she does. Overall, the store has an old-school, the neighborhood store feel. I really liked it! I'm glad to be able to support a local-ish type of store rather than those biggies like HEB. It may be awhile (if at al) before coming back to this 'hood, but should that be the case, this is will be my grocery go-to!

If you live in the area you've…read moreprobably heard rumor of this business owner not being too kind to people who "don't look like them" I can't speak on that but knowing their reputation I knew going in and asking for a refund on an item they over charged me for was going to be a hassle and I was so correct. I went in cause it was close and I needed a can a chili, I paid with a card so they have to enter the amount manually. The next day I checked my account and seen I was charged $39 for one can of chili! I go in politely and explain what happened, I'm met with hostility, accusations and excuses like our pos system doesn't keep track of card payment and the cameras were not working that day. After some back and forth he reluctantly refunded the money they overcharged me. He said "im only doing this in hopes you continue to use our business" I did have every intention to do so until I saw how this owner acted and spoke and at that point I told him I wouldn't be coming back ever and let me tell you he didn't like that one bit. He called me a liberal (lmao) and then he said I was not disabled cause I can walk and I got a disability plate and placard. I forgot to mention this was after he got I. My face and threatened me. Again just take the extra couple minutes and drive down the street to a business that doesn't have dust all over there products with a terrible person as their business owner. This review will see other sites as well and the BBB. Maybe they want to google that last one.
